Rejuv v14 Update Dev Blog | 7/29/2024

Glad to hear everything is good, no reason to rush really. Since it should be a climactic story point might as well make it perfect and polished from the get go. We can wait.

Great to hear an update, but may I ask, since Gen 9 pokemon will be coming in v14, does that mean a lot of Rivals/trainers/gym leaders will be getting overhauled to add some of the new pokemon to their teams?

As a fan of Paragon, I’m thinking about who’s about to risk their lives for their friends?

I'm doing an all fairy playthrough rn, and knowing that we'll be getting gen 9, specifically tinkaton, has me SOOOO excited!!!!

awesome jan! you are doing wonderous work and I love how you bounce back after such hardships and also glad to hear that gen 9 is coming in but that does make me wonder on the gym leaders and other trainers for their teams :)

I´m surprised you guys worked so quickly. I wasn´t expecting another dev blog for at least another 2 or 3 months. 

Yo Super Bro, random question. You guys got any plans for a replay feature like in Saints Row 1? (Ex: go to bed in GDC and “dream” of previous chapters or events without it affecting your game play)

I love Renegade and wanna replay it from the beginning without making new characters, even if its on my paragon play through.

Just throwing it out there, doesn’t have to be for V14

Question, have you tried to copy over a save file from Renegade start?
like changing Game.rxdata to Game_2.rxdata so youd have a save always at the beginning of Renegade and just not save during it to redo it as many times as you want?
(Or if you save, have the Renegade start file on desktop so you can replace the save with renegade start whenever you want)

Question, though - do you or the Rejuv team have any plans on editing the story with the next update? Or will it merely be an expansion? This may be a personal take but I feel the story gets really convoluted later in the game (you can probably find discussions about it somewhere around here or on the subreddit; it’s been a while since I last played) so I was wondering what would happen with that.

either way, I can’t wait for v14. I’m sure it’ll be amazing. Thank you for all your hard work thus far ^^

Beat Renegade already, so how would I find that old file? Files and stuff arent my forte, all I’d know is to look for her name

Gen 9 implemented is great news! I would love to have the new 'snow' weather in rejuv, Ice is my all time favourite type and they finally gave it some love with snow and Chienpao.

I just hope we can get some kind of Battle Logger like in Deso, so there's some kind of repeatable battles to do once you've completed the episode to test teams against, or just for fun. It's fun to be able to effectively rematch earlier Gym Leaders and important battles with current story-level teams/field effects and gives something to do once you've finished the main story and side content.

Im hoping we get opportunities to Yeet and Delete random grunts at will, like “Delete Grunt Sammy” (Yes/No)

Hi, I was just wondering but since a lot of the Reborn passwords have been added, are the Monotype passwords going to be added in this update?

I'm wondering this too, type specialized runs are fun, especially after the difficulty got toned down a lot.
Any chance of monotype passwords and one that restores the old difficulty?

Are there any plans of introducing characters' portraits during dialogues (like we have in Deso)? It's amazingly useful when it comes to following the story, given how much dialogue we have in the game. 

Also, for the same reason, it's sometimes confusing to have "they/them" pronouns when referring to the Protagonist if they have selected another gender at the beginning of the game. Is there any plan to configure the references to match selection??

Will you add the puzzle skips like Reborn? I can't physically do the last puzzle in the Manor arc, and I don't want to beg people to do it for me on repeat playthroughs.
