Orange NPCs: Guard Units

Black "O": OilMan.EXE

"Prog": Mr. Prog. Pass by to interact. (May provide information)

Red Tile: Boss Tile. Triggers a boss battle if you land on it. (You can't go any further beyond this tile!)

Should Orenucu, Score, and Mirona all go for the Boss Tile this turn, Orenucu will take priority, while the other two will be forced to stop before the tile. (Priority decided by distance)

Should only Score and Mirona go for the Boss Tile, the two will have to decide who goes first somehow.

"aaaaAAAAAAAAA!!!" OilMan cried out, "SERSERSERSERGEIIMSORRYSORRYSOR-" his last words blurred out as he combusted rapidly, and it wasn't long until he returned to a wind of junk data, drifting into the cyberworld. A purple, floating key was left where OilMan used to stand. It seemed to be one of the WWW Keys you're looking for - it even had a red W over it.

On the other hand, the guard units sent to deal with OilMan was left speechless by Orenucu's work. "W-Well, our work's done for us! A-Anyway, you should know that this cyberspace is for us maintenance workers only, but we're willing to pretend that you didn't get in here in the first place with your fantastic work. Now, shoo!" They totted their wee little busters at you, urging you to jack out.

Meanwhile, in the real world, the lights went up again. Through broadcast, you were informed that the ride would resume in approximately two minutes, and that you should remain seated.

Zenny Balance Tally:

Mitsuru: 3000 + 150 + 100 + 150 = 3400
Axel: 3000 + 100 + 300 = 3400
Vlastimir: 3000 + 150 + 150 + 150 = 3450
Hina: 3000 + 100 + 300 + 150 = 3550

"Looks like somebody else got the big bad, Ms. Hina. Heading out now." With that, Buzzkill headed out. Not much else to do in there, the guards weren't gonna let them just wander around, and fighting with the guards seemed like a poor choice.

"Alright then. Good job, but we're gonna have to step up our game next time." Hina leaned back, readying herself for the beginning of the ride.

In the real world a man was smiling, Vlastimir had already done a fist bump started to blare out a certain tune on his PET's speakers, promising a long and slightly uncomfortable ride for everyone around him who had a marked distaste for loud accordion accompanied music. Although Vlastimir himself personally couldn't think of anyone who would fit the bill, for after all who wouldn't love to hear the sweet sweet sounds of music an instrument would play in the hands kf an expert musician?, he thought abiut this as he turned around slightly to face Hina, and he had an obviously joking tone to his voice when he said, "If it is any consolation friend, the reason you lost was simple. Your opponent was me, after all."

In the virtual world a gunslinger was ignoring people, Orenucu had quickly snagged the OILKEY when it first made its presence known, and it was too preoccupied with writing and sending a message to their tour guide to acknowledge the presence of the guard units with anything more than the tip of an invisible hat and a slight bow....before it quickly disappeared in a stream of 1s and 0s.

[FROM: Vlastimir] [SUBJECT: Ride OK]

The NetNavi that shut down the ride is now all burned up. The announcement system just told us that the ride will be fully operational in two minutes. While I personally have no real need for refreshments... I fear that the rest do not have my fortitude and would presumably appreciate a cold drink and something to munch on to try and take their minds off of the recent events.

It was fun though.

Back in the real world a man quietly jacked his PET out of the system, and he sat back down on his seat with a satisfied smile on his face. He secretly knew however that his victory over what must have been the easiest keyholder was nothing to celebrate, as at best he had done nothing but take the first step in a journey of a thousand, and that at worst all he had done was paint a rather large target on his own back, but for now he was simply content to lean back and metaphorically rest on his laurels, for after all he was relatively sure that he could beat anyone here in a straight up fight... or at least in meatspace anyway.

Vlastimir turned his head slightly towards Hina once more as he redid all of the straps that were presumably keeping him in his seat, "But for now let us just enjoy ride yes? Still have long day ahead."

The green cyber-rabbit thing just went "MY FRIENDS AND FAMILIES ARE ALL DELETED BECAUSE OF THAT NAVI. I WAS COLLECTING HIS DATA TO HELP HEROES LIKE YOU BUT THEN YOU KINDA JUST... DELETED HIM WITHOUT MY HELP. BUT THAT'S OKAY! WE MR. PROGS CAN LIVE ON WITH OUR BITTER VENGEANCE NEVER FULFILLED BY OUR OWN HANDS! AHAHA... *sniffles*" He went a bit quiet after that, drying his virtual tears.

"JUST... TAKE THIS. IT MEANS NOTHING TO ME NOW. I'LL JUST... GET A VACATION."

  • When below 200 HP, interrupts the ongoing cycle by waiting 2 hs first, and then using Grand Spillage. Afterwards, proceeds with the original cycle, but upgrades Tar Muncher into Tar Muncher+, and additionally uses Grand Spillage once at the end of each cycle, after the Black Mortars are fired.
  • OilMan shields himself with a veil of thick oil, named Oil Guard. It is a 5 HP Barrier that regenerates 5 hs after being removed. Takes priority on the same hs. (Meaning that an attack that lands as the Oil Guard regenerates will hit the Oil Guard instead)
  • OilMan leaves a trail of Oil as he moves. He does not slide on Oil panels.
  • When hit with Fire-element damage, Oil Guard is disabled for the rest of the battle.
  • When hit with Fire-element damage, OilMan begins to lose 10 HP every hs for 5 hs.
  • When hit with Fire-element damage for the first time in a battle, OilMan is forced to wait 10 hs before he can continue with his cycle.
  • Tar Muncher: Instant Warmup / 1 hs Cooldown / 1 hs/panel / A rapid wave of black tar that travels down one row. It resembles a piranha. Deals 30 damage.
  • Tar Muncher+: Instant Warmup / 1 hs Cooldown / 1 hs/panel / A rapid wave of black tar that travels down one row. It resembles a piranha. Deals 40 damage.
  • Black Mortar: 2 hs Warmup / 1 hs Cooldown / Delayed for 2 more hs before it hits / OilMan hurls out a black mortar shell from his body, homing in on the panel you are on and exploding 3 panels wide, covering them in oil. Deals 60 damage.
  • Grand Spillage: 2 hs Warmup / 2 hs Cooldown / 1 hs/panel, but disappears briefly for an additional 1 hs before it moves on to the next panels / A wave of oil that surges from the rightmost column of the battlefield and travels all the way to the leftmost column. Deals 70 damage.

Brock groaned helplessly as he reluctantly jacked Vile out. Though, he still gained a lot from the occasion, like the extents of everyone's Netbattling abilities. It wasn't like he was in a hurry to grab the key, either. He'd have plenty of time to snatch the key back anyway. For now, he figured to enjoy the rest of the day.

Hotshot felt insulted as Orenucu just passed by her and did what she couldn't do with relative ease, yet it wasn't a good position for her to do anything about it. "Mark my words, gunman. You won't have the key for long." With that, she jacked out. Meanwhile, Ayano's eyes reeked of salt as she glared at the pollack next to her.

Kenji was not happy. But he wasn't angry, either. He was just, disappointed. At GatlingMan's performance, and at his own performance as well. Though, what really got on his nerves was the music Vlastimir was blaring through his PET. "... Well done. Mr. Vlastimir, now if you can just turn that awful music off, we'd all be able to resist the urge not to throw you off the ride."

"Whew... They're safe." Midori sighed in relief. She replied to Vlastimir's surprisingly grammatically-correct message.

Good to know! And don't worry, I came prepared! I'll be giving you refreshments on the tour bus. In meantime, have fun, alright?
