[IC] TotMV:G2: Val Habar and the Terrible Tigrex

Chevaleresse

Recommended Posts

Mar strips the corpse into Bones/Claws, Muscles, Organs, and Skin/Scales with the shuriken after removing Little Sneak from the projectile, He infuses them with Life Mana to purge Bacteria and give it some softness, then Death Mana to Preserve it, then he encases them all in clear bricks of Arcanite and piles them on his Hide Cloak, which he uses like a Sled, dragging the Objects around as he searches for camp.

Quote

Thaum>Skin>Obsidian: (12, 2) This mana creates a Liquid Barrier, which becomes a solid variant of Arcanite as it cools, a durable material made partially of self sustaining magic.

If he Finds the Camp, he dumps off the Magic Encased Lizard Parts.

He also gathers the Ore and Beehive, he uses Bop Fracture to crack that ore, then uses Chocolate Mana to afflict the Bees with Lethargy and Ill sensations to make them ignore his pilfering of a Comb and it's Honey.

After this, he Seeks out the sound of the Roaring.

"Hmm, Roars mean bigger beasts, which mean more bountiful hunting."

Mar thinks to himself, practically overwhelmed with the thrills of nature once more.

"Hm... I'm going to have see about taming these, they're really cool... Aw man, I miss Mammoth now. And these ores... Maybe I can see about using them with whatever I can get from this Tigrex thing..."

Turning from the Aptonoths with some lingering praises of them being pretty dinosaurs, Andre heads south. If these other animals are anything to go off of, the roar came from the Tigrex.

Mar stores a Jaggi Hide and a Jaggi Bone in the camp; the rest of the parts were a bit small to utilize. He obtains an Aquaglow Jewel and Iron Ore x2. He also obtains Honey x3 from the beehive. He heads back to the Steps, as that is the only path out of the camp, in search of the roaring.

Andre heads toward the noise, heading south into the forest. There's a thick carpet of vines running between a few flat areas of rock, which also have more natural ramps up to their tops; there's also two mats of vines that look sturdy enough to be climbed. However, the trees remain relatively sparse for a bit, and clear out to leave room for a miniature canyon-like formation further back, with a path leading through a cleft in the rock. Past that, the woods thicken, though there's what looks like some kind of nest piled with old bones among other things. However, he also spots something a bit more interesting. . .

An orange and blue striped beast, on four legs with its front ones carrying the webbing of wings, charges out of the brush, straight at Andre. He manages to avoid the initial attack, and it spins about to face him again. It glares at him, and then raises itself up on its front legs. Its ribcage inflates for a moment before compressing violently as the beast let out an earsplitting roar, one that seemed to physically slam into Andre.

Mar can hear this roar as well, from where he is.

Andre is rather annoyed at how loud the tigrex is. So with a mighty effort he tricks the beast into attacking towards him before suplexing it. He takes a selfie of himself doing so real quick before he lets the beast be stunned for the rest of its turn.

[16 vs 19] Andre grabs the Tigrex and wrenches its head about a bit for [9] damage, but isn't able to get a firm hold of it before its charge bowls him over.

The Tigrex charges forward, powerful limbs carrying it forward in a manner reminiscent of an incredibly irritable freight train, crashing into and over Andre for [11] damage.

Mar arrives on-scene! The Tigrex fixes him with yellow eyes, before skidding about and preparing to charge again!

Mar Flings Little Sneak at it, aiming for it's neck, and jerking at the chains if it misses to wrap the chain around it's neck and wedge the obsidian blade into it.

"Andre, you wound me, admit it, you planned to take this one yourself!"

Mar laughs, grinning widely as he guides the shuriken, jerking the chain around to stabilize the large molecular cutting projectile.

Andre throws a can of odoriferous substance at Mar. Whether from the strength of the smell causing Mar to get upset or some property of the chemicals within, he gains 7 STR for the next two turns.

The Tigrex spins about and charges again! It slams into Mar for [9] damage and Andre for [9].

Mar tosses his shuriken at the Tigrex's neck! It bites into the flesh for [14+3] damage! It also scraped along the head, appearing to damage the ridges across the top.

Mar Grows a bit angry, and blasts a bolt of magic at it, splashing it with Molten Death Concrete, again, aiming for it's neck!

((5/4)d2)(+25%) Damage, Molten Death Concrete Element.

Quote

Channel Mana Level 1: The user Channels the Mana from their soul, firing it forth as a bolt of energy after attuning it to nearby material. This skill deals (Int+Syn/4)d2(+25% from Practical Living) Damage. The user may choose the element of this attack, or perform a Key Action next turn.

(Key Actions have Fiatable effects based on the user's attempted action.)

Quote

Thaum>Bone>Obsidian: (16, 16) This mana type causes Obsidian to spawn Molten Death, which hardens into Necrotic Calcium Silicon Hydrate, a cement-like material coated perpetually in purple slime.

Andre picks up Mar and gives him a Helping Hand by carrying him into the air before throwing him down into the beast for a more forceful attack.

(helping hand)

Andre passes the time between the turns by reading a trashy romance novel.

Working together, Andre is able to heft Mar to an angle at which he's able to spatter the already-inflicted wounds with a noxious magical toxin. The attack inflicts [0] damage, but the Tigrex is now poisoned!

The beast charges a third time, slamming into both of those fighting it for [12] damage each! At this third charge, it does not skid; instead, it comes to a stop, and turns more normally -and more slowly - to face Mar and Andre again.

"The time has come to enact the most sacred of strategies, the Final Stratagem..."

"It has never failed me before."

Mar infuses Andre with Jet Mana.

Quote

Thaum>Jet: (6, 1) This Mana type Heals and Speeds up People and Objects made of Carbon or Calcium Containing Materials.

"Run Away!"

Mar shouts, turning tail as he blasts Andre with the Heal+Haste.

Mar heads out of the zone!

Andre attempts to suplex the Tigrex once more! [15 vs 16] He manages to grab ahold of it, but in vain, as he still isn't able to get the mighty beast airborne.

The Tigrex seizes Andre in its mighty jaws and shakes him about for [10] damage before tossing him to the side. He hears meowing as his vision fades. . .

Mar heads back to the camp. He flops into the bed there and takes a short nap, feeling entirely rejuvenated. Full HP Restored! Mar is stunned for a turn as he wakes up.

A wooden cart pushed by a team of those bipedal cats rumbles into camp, dropping Andre off on the ground unceremoniously. It seems his wounds have been patched, but he's gonna have a nasty scar.

Mar Combines his Obsidian Shard, Dulled Obsidian Shuriken, Light Crystal, Jaggi Hide, Bottle of Water (Bottle not consumed) and Jaggi Bones into as Many Bombs as he can.

Spoiler

He uses Deep Blue Spinel Mana infused with Hot Oil Mana to create a Spiked Mass of Heat, and wraps this in Jaggi Hide, he then fills hide with Water, and puts the first hide inside that, finally, he wraps a third hide filled with Crushed Orcish Obsidian, Orcish Lightshard Abrasive Powder around that, with a Jaggi Bone tied to it.

The result should be Some amount (Possibly One) Leather Sack with a bone handle sticking out, on impact, the Spiked Ball of heat pierces the hide wrapping it, causing the water to rush in and turn to steam, exploding the bag and creating a cloud of unimaginably sharp obsidian, and lightcrystal dust, and a cloud of boiling hot steam, which is glowing from both splitting air, and the lightcrystal powder itself, resulting in a blinding and abrasive cloud practically designed to destroy the lungs of anything that inhales it.

Mana Types Used

Quote

Thaum>Hot Oil: (18, 19) This Mana Type create a Liquid Heat Mana, which feeds Hot Oil when inserted into it.

Thaum>Deep Blue Spinel: (5, 13) This Mana Type forms spikes all over it's surface, when it contacts an object, it drains it's energy in a sharp jolt, before becoming an inert Spiked mass of it's pilfered energy, blue in color.

Mar scoops up Dirt and the powder spilled on it into sacks and Equips the Final Obsidian Biface in his possession, this time in the form of a Sawblade.

He walks near the Steppe, Hidden in brush and behind rocks, scouting, he smears himself in mud and coats himself in a weak magic barrier to hide his scent.

Mar and Andre head into the Steps. Mar chooses a stealthy approach, while Andre's is, presumably, much less so. They find the Tigrex chowing down on one of the Aptonoths while the others run off into the distance.

There's a distinct moment of tension as it raises its gore-streaked maw from its prey to glare directly at Andre.
