    • In a month?
    • In two months?
    • In three months?
    • Who cares, I just want to play a well-made game!
  2. 2. Who is your favorite character?

  3. 3. Would you like Save Points to be the only method of saving?

    • Yes
    • No
    • It makes sense, given the very "different nature" of your game, so yes.

For those people, as stated, i think spoiler tags should suffice. For the rest of us, i think we like taking smalls sniffs of something wonderful that we will not be able to play for quite a while....

Update and shiz!

New character is going to be unveiled, once again. This time, it's another one of the villains. Well... "villain," I should say. I think that I might've accidentally made a character look too attractive, tbh. But, the character that I will be showcasing, who still has a lineart and will be colored and cel-shaded later, is Reynold Maxwell.

If you want to read more information about this character, then click the spoiler below, otherwise view at your own discretion.

Maxwell used to be an old friend of Vaan Cresthart and his brother, while also being Vaan's old gambling buddy at Renma when they were in their teens. Reynold joined the Dark Fangs as one of the Generals of the organization under the thought that Nero could be changed back to the way he was. All of what he does has no real, evil intent. Most of the time, he's just following orders given to him by Nero and holding to them begrudgingly, such as when he was contacted at the Northern Base that the main characters were on their way to the Northern Continent in search of the other Arc Stone Fragments. Often times whenever he gets bored on the job, or is given an order that is deemed "too dirty", he heads out to the Renma Casino and play cards with passerby's; most of the time winning with a 99% success rate. With that 1% being Vaan who beat him. Most Dark Fang's and Dark Fang Generals never really dictate their actions based on how dirty the work is, since they're obligated to kill people, steal Pokemon, and try and thwart the main cast's efforts. Most of the Dark Fangs even state that "Dirtier tricks are always better than clean ones", which suggests that there are jobs that are dirty enough for Reynold to do, but there are dirtier which he refuses to take part in and will silently walk away from; especially since he's only taking part in the Dark Fangs for the sake of saving Nero's old self.

If this was an officially licensed Game Freak game, you can guarantee that his cigarette would've been edited out XD And yes, that is a cigarette in his mouth.

So, quick update: I've updated EVERY scene in the game with the new animations and everything, along with a total revision of all the lines and cleaned up any and all errors that there might've been in the script, thus far. Now that I've completed that little... annoyance. I've begun working again on the character abilities, this one in particular that I've been working on is a bit interesting. It's a "transformation" like ability, for Krista and Allan that they get during the course of the game. More on it when the time comes. But, it is not Verdant Transformation, but exclusive forms that are tailored towards their play-style.

Also, work in progress for the Next Dimension Tournament. The tournament arena that you see below is actually based on the type of arena that you would see in anime's like: Dragon Ball or Yu Yu Hakusho; among others that I can't remember off the top of my head. But, right now it is still a work in progress on the tiles and whatnot, as I do have many plans for it's improvements. So far, this is what I have, for the arena. It is... massive.

Cool :D I do look that guy's drawing. I almsot mistook of the cigarette as a Lollipop stick. (Which Sanji had in the "kid" version of One Piece)

Nope, there be no censorship in my game. That is, in fact, a cigarette that he smokes.

And speaking of artwork, I have one piece of artwork that is going to be quite humorous XD

As you all know, my game tends to take itself quite seriously with it's narrative and plot structure. That said, I never said that the game wasn't light-hearted at times and sometimes has very funny moments and characters. This one... is quite special. The artwork that you see below is Igglybuff. Yes. Igglybuff. But, not just an Igglybuff, this one is actually the ruler of the Next Dimension, and is the person in-charge of someone going to heaven or hell when a person or Pokemon passes away. So, in a way, he is quite powerful and even possesses the ability to transform into it's final evolved stage, when necessary. That said, because of Igglybuff being, hilariously, the rule of the Next Dimension, Vice tends to... tease him, about his stature and him being a baby Pokemon. Hilarity ensues and times are great.

But, I hear you asking me: Dylan. Why on earth did you dress up an Igglybuff in Chinese-esque clothing?

The answer: Because I thought it would be funny, and it also allows for Igglybuff to stand out, so that way he doesn't seem like... a regular, average every day Igglybuff. Mostly because it's funny XD And I like the idea of a small, baby Pokemon being the ruler of, what is essentially, spirit world.

To those of you who don't care about spoilers, and clicked the spoiler tag, this is Reynard Maxwell. If you've read the post above, then you already know who this person is, but just in case you didn't read it, and are too lazy to scroll, I'll copy it here for you:

Maxwell used to be an old friend of Vaan Cresthart and his brother, while also being Vaan's old gambling buddy at Renma when they were in their teens. Reynold joined the Dark Fangs as one of the Generals of the organization under the thought that Nero could be changed back to the way he was. All of what he does has no real, evil intent. Did you finally start putting all kind of new info in spoilers? I'm browsing this topic with my glasses permanently off so that all I see is blurry due to the lack of spoiler tags

A good question. But, as you can see there are quite a few spoiler tags being used now ;)

SO, new character announced, and she is kawaii A.F.!

This is Alissa Garnet the top Pop Star Idol of the Next Dimension. Originally, when she was alive, she was an Idol in Lumia, but was met with a terrible end several years prior to this game's events. Now she resides in the Next Dimension doing what she loves, while also being an announcer and referee for the Next Dimension Tournament. That is all I can really say about this character without getting into spoilers, so here's her artwork!

As with the update that I made a couple days ago, here is yet another character that will be featured later on in the game. This character's name is Dr. Richter Dezel. A scientist who belongs to the Dark Fangs and was the sole reason why the Monochroma family no longer exists, aside from Hiro and Allan being the last remaining family members. He might look like a normal, average, everyday doctor. But what you don't see is his extremely manic and deranged personality that is revolved around most of his experiments. He is a genius when it comes to genetic manipulation, as well as creating artificial Pokemon. His main line of work is his attempts at trying to create artificial Arc Stone fragments from living Pokemon. More info on this character will not be revealed since what I could say ends up being spoilers anyways, so... here ya have his art!

Just got caught up on your stream archives, I am really digging the Next Dimension stuff you've been working on. Super cool stuff, keep at it. :)

You watched my stream archives? :o Wow, and you even managed to tolerate them too; color me impressed. Tbh, I dislike a lot of those stream archives to the point that I was contemplating deleting all 100 or so of them.

Nooo, I have fun watching them. I've managed to catch you live once or twice but watching them is very soothing for some reason, haha.

Well, I guess it depends on how my mood is, during those streams. Because, I definitely cannot stand the sound of my voice, as well as some of the completely stupid rants that I go off on, sometimes.

Anyways, update!

New maps, and super cool news!

So, yesterday I finished yet another map, and this one is... probably one of my favorites, so far.

1. Because it has you utilizing several of the characters overworld abilities to navigate the terrain to solve some very minor puzzles.

2. I actually like how the map transitions to the snowy parts of the Northern Continent, as well as the general level of exploration that can be had in this map.

3. Lastly, this map dynamically changes it's weather, once you cross a certain point, to indicate that the upcoming area is heavily snow related. It works very similarly to the Desert Route from Ruby and Sapphire, where you cross a certain point and the sandstorm kicks in, and then when you cross another point, it stops.

But, here it is: The Renma Hills!

3072e03bd9e665f3ca3409ae4d99987b.png

Next up is a work in progress, for the area that comes after. This map is called: The Allison Snowdrift, and currently I am still working on it. But, what this map will feature is more of what you saw in the Renma Hills map, except this time with Ice Sliding and use of character overworld abilities. Also, there are new plants that are exclusive to this climate, which are referred to as Snowbelles. They are white flowers that bud in cold regions of Lumia.

I love snowy area~ Nice progress as always, Dylan! Hopefully my poor PC is still able to run this game without frustrating lag. I experienced lag with Uranium and with how complex this game will be I'm kinda worried about the lag. Don't worry though, it's highly probably due to my poor PC. Anyway, looking forward for more progress ^^

Well, the difference between my game and Uranium is that Uranium lags even on my PC which is pretty powerful. And the game lags because it wasn't mapped correctly, and every single map is connected and does not use snap edges to help reduce lag. Which, is the main contributor to lag in these kinds of games.

So, in short: You should be able to handle my game, no problem. Unless I end up not compressing the game correctly.

SO: Update on the map I just posted earlier. This is now the finished version of the Allison Snowdrift!

What you can barely make out at the bottom of the map is a broken bridge. There are quite a few of these throughout the game, but, this one in particular cannot be crossed, unless you have Krista's Surf, or... if you use the Temporal Crystal at the northern part of the map to revert the bridge back to when it wasn't broken, thus creating a shortcut! There are many instances where Hiro's Time Manipulation can be used in the overworld to reveal hidden areas, as well as creating paths for you to navigate; whether it be a shortcut, or if it's to progress the game.

Also, there are sliding puzzles, which... aren't that hard, since this is a non-Sanctuary location, so these tend to be quite trivial and easy. But, there are 2 of them, so... take that XD

Heyo, it's been a few days since I last updated, but, here is a preview of an upcoming map which will lead to the soon to be Frost Sanctuary! Meowth, dat's right, a new Sanctuary to explore, along with the Stone Sanctuary, which takes part in a mine! This map that I'm going to show off is called the Eclipse Mountain Range, and is a really large area that leads into Eclipse Mountain and the next sanctuary of the game.

So, to those of you who've been keeping up with my posts, for the past while, you'll know that I've been essentially my aunts slave and shiz. Well, I no longer have to owe her ANYTHING! That's right, I'm free, I'm back in school now, and I'm not taking anymore crap from her! I no longer have to work 3 jobs, 90 hour weeks, and be dead tired every day! And you want to know what else happened.

... My aunt lied to me. She told me that if I did everything she asked of me, which was: Get a job again (I did her 3 better), get a car (not like I had a choice about that one) and start paying for it so that I could have her co-sign for the last of my college loans...

I did EVERYTHING she asked of me, and decided that she did not want to co-sign for me, after I worked my ass off for her, and did everything she asked of me and then some. She lied to me, and did not hold up her end of the bargain, and now I'm figuring out who can co-sign for my college loan, and thankfully I have a solution.

On a much more pleasant note, here is the finished map:

Toxic relatives are the worst. Good riddance to bad rubbish. But hey, more snow!

Yeah, and thankfully I got a co-signer for my student loans for this year :D So, I'm actually quite happy, at the moment, with that development!

Also, here are a bunch of maps!

That looks amazing, sir!!

I love that bridge in the third picture, it reminds me of a dungeon in Ruby/Sapphire, the

one where you can find Baggon! My memory sucks though, because I played that when I was a kid!

But I've always loved big bridges inside dungeons!
