I would say the only reason he comes off so nice is because there have been so many situations around or involving Ryan that he hasn't been able to show his true colors aside from the comment in Slade's and his battle. I honestly never know good battle themes so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

This is partially based on whatever megas people plan on having. I was going to go with M-Garde, but iirc someone mentioned wanting that. 2. I'm not sure how mean I should make Kage. He's not supposed to be a particularly nice character (though not mean either, just not super altruistic) and I feel I have written him as being too nice. (Except to Ryan, he's supposed to be nice to his bf.) 3. I seriously can't figure out what battle themes to use for him. His team is mostly physical with an emphasis on slow, heavy hitters and this whole bias toward Zinnia's theme (which I don't really think fits him well) is not helping. (oml zinnia's theme, 2gud) You need themes? I tried rembering a bit slower themes then I came across this again. (I'll try looking for something else though). Edit: found another (though this one gets beaten to death in the game it's from)

Also i was refering to the Marowak incident with James because he's from Lavender Town and Team Rocket incident.That particular incident has to do with the death of his parent as well as his mother's marowak and her child.

Plus, unless you want to battle without any pokemon, your parents could follow them and be led to you.
