  1. I do have a Kilnk. I had to box it in favor of Ampharos for Shelly. My Mightyena has Moxie which definitely would boost my sweeping power if it can resist his electricity. Currently, her strongest Dark move is Assurance. So Mightyena and Klang it is. This isn't the Factory Field it's the Short-Circuit Field which is similar but has a darkness aspect that boosts ghost moves and the Nature Power is Discharge. For those who are curious the rest of the team I was going in with was: Swanna Pikachu Garbodor Garbodor's Aftermath has done some sweet damage to Mimikyu but then it uses a damn Sitrus Berry.
  2. Me again. Sorry. I'm battling Shade now and he's actually pretty easy for the most part. He starts with Gengar. I lead with Beware. Gengar uses Thunderbolt and Beware sweeps it with Payback. Next is Banette. I swap out for my own Banette and One-Hit KO it with a field-powered Shadow Ball. Third is Rotom. I keep Banette in and get it down to about a quarter of it's HP with Sucker Punch. Unfortunately, Banette then goes down with a Shadow Ball. I send Beware out again and finish Rotom with two or three Paypacks as Shade Hyper Potions Rotom and the damn thing has leftovers. This is where he varies. His 4th Pokemon is sometimes Dhelmise, sometimes Mimikyu. Dhelmise is any easy sweep with two Flame Bursts from my Charizard and I expect the same for Dublade though I've not battled it yet as his 4th Pokemon has always been one of the two. That damn Mimikyu with Swords Dance is where I run into trouble! How do I get rid of that thing?
  3. Yeah I figured, just wanted to be sure. Well guess I'm outta luck. No biggie, it was hard choosing between Zigzagoon and Stuffle and now this makes it easy.
  4. I know I've been creating a lot of question threads rather frequently, I hope this isn't annoying anyone. Remember that Zigzagoon that you rescue from those punks on the Opal Bridge? Well now that I've evolved Pichu, I'm hoping to finally train that Zigzagoon up as my pickup Pokemon in place of my Meowth since Linoone hangs on to it so I don't have to worry about frequently having to stop it from evolving. However, right now the Zigzagoon has Gluttony. I've made a save and used my only ability capsule on it (the one from the mother who lost her son in the Obsitia Ward, unfortunately, I ignorantly missed the one in front of the factory) but it shuffles the ability to Quick Feet. I reset the game 3 times and tried it again but each time it shuffled to Quick Feet. To be honest, I've never used an ability capsule before, hell, I've never owned one before, not even in the canon games. I actually didn't know of their existence until I watched Ttar's Alpha Sapphire Randomizer. XD Is this happening because the shuffle order is always the same, meaning I'd have to use two ability capsules to get pickup? Or can I continue to reset and eventually it'll shuffle to pickup?
  5. Wow. It evolved at the next level up, level 29. Considering the status the friendship ladies gave me that's quite unexpected but it rocks!
  6. Sweet, that's very helpful to know. Although I haven't looked at Pikachu I've been using Serebii's BW dex since it's the base game design-wise and thus far what I've referred to it for has been mostly accurate so I would not have thought to check another gen.
  7. I've thought of that but wouldn't common candies reduce happiness considering it forcibly weakens them? Plus I only have 2, so not enough to get it back down below level 25.
  8. I'm training the Pichu from the Onix Ward Rooftop Garden. I loath happiness evolution but I love me some Pikachu and even more so some Raichu and so far this static Pichu seems to be the only access. I've taken it to both Salon ladies, given it the Soothe Belle, used two Oran Berries and Lemonade to heal it instead of the Pokemon center and haven't allowed it to faint though that has required a lot of saving and resetting the game due to Pursuit and the amount of recoil damage received from Volt Tackle. Yet it's still "just starting to get comfortable with me". It's at level 28 now and I'm worried about leveling up anymore because I'm pretty sure I lost Thunder Bolt (that's at level 25 right?) and am afraid of losing Pikechu's other good moves. If not for the Charge Beam TM from the first gym, I'd still be stuck with Thundershock which is particularly horrible in this game and Volt Tackle which as I've mentioned is hard on the whole 'not letting it faint' requirement due to the recoil damage. I'd rather avoid using the happiness barries since stats need to be sacrificed but might it be necessary? Is there any way to speed up the process besides the Salon ladies who are quite painful to my wallet? Did I mention I loath happiness evolution?!
  9. Yes, it did and I greatly appreciate it. Exactly.
  10. I did not, well shit. I had just enough common candies to cover them as well, I had 3 and used one on Charizard. Ah well. I realized that allowing Espurr to be KOed was something ShogoKix had said to do that I was neglecting. I didn't think it would make much of a difference. If letting Espurr get KOed hadn't worked then I would have tried your rainbow field tactic.
  11. WOOT! At last, I beat her! I believe what made something of a difference was that the first several times I used the fake out tactic, Espurr would be left with 1HP after struggle bug and then taking a hit from the burning field created by my Charizard's Flame Burst and I'd switch it out for Ampharos. This time, Espurr was knocked out before I had a chance to switch it out. So when I send out Ampharos, I was able to take out Araquanid before it could rain dance with Charizard's wing attack and Ampharos's Power Gem. Heather's Ancient Power KOed Charizard but Ampharos was able to continue the sweep with support from Trubbish and Ducklett and the burning field which remained intact for the entire battle did a lot of residual damage to Volbeat. Big thanx to everyone in this thread for all the help. "I'm still not good enough, I guess I'll never live up to his [her brother Bugsy's] expectations." Shit girl, you make Bugsy look like a bug catcher! Man after this I am NOT looking forward to the Elite 4! I noticed that Emolga but how do you get to it? Also, I found all the Police officers as well but still have to claim the Growlithe. I'll do that as I make my way back to the Beryl Cemetary now. I've been watching Ttar's Nuzlocke at pace with my playthrough and am very interested so to see how he manages this battle!
  12. Not exactly. I evolved my Charmeleon to Charizard and common candied it and got Ampheros to level 35 but ShogokiX's 100% guaranteed strategy is NOT working beyond the fake out part. Bubble beam, rock slide and now ancient power are still sweeping me and I can't one-hit KO araquanid before it uses its damn rain dance! The moves that don't one-hit KO me, which is pretty much just bubble beam on Charizard and Rock Slide on Ampheros have me wasting a lot of turns on lemonades and super potions and she has at least two hyper potions though she's not used them often. What am I doing wrong? I appreciate a challenge that surpasses the canon games but this battle is infuriatingly ridiculous. It's borderline unfair! The thing is though, I find her to be a pretty cute character and her AI seems to be impressively aware. When I first started, she'd send out either Anaroth or Heather after Illumise and it wasn't until the SECOND time I used the fake out tactic that she changed and started following illumise with araquanid as though I took her off guard the first time but she learned and adapted even though I don't let the game register me whiting out because I shut it off as my last Pokemon is going down (or after I lose both Charizard and Amphorose since I started this strategy). BTW, I'm not a dude.
  13. Noted. I'll train the Mareep first though while I decide which way to go with the Espurr.
  14. UPDATE: I caught a male Espurr and it's already got Fake Out. Is it recommended that I evolve it to obtain Prankster as it's got Own Tempo currently?
  15. A pleasure to meet you VInnie and thanx.
  16. Alright, I'll give it a go. I've already got the Mareep (which I feel a bit bad about since apparently we stole it from that poor frantic dude), so it's just a matter of catching an Espurr and leveling them up. It's ironic. I just recently overwrote Fake Out on my Meowth with Pay Day. I very nearly didn't need to bother with an Espurr. Oh well.
  17. A couple of things: 1. The Fake Out technique is meant to stop Illumise from using Rain Dance, but you said Araquanid also uses Rain Dance. Do I need to be concerned about that? 2. There is a potential problem with using Charmeleon as a lead. She starts with Masqurain alongside Illumise which knows bubble beam. (Side note: I don't know what the deal is with the quote box, this happened to a post of mine in the Ttar thread as well)
  18. How do I beat this bitch?! She's a got a fucking move for EVERYTHING! My initial team was: Trubbish lvl. 35 Ducklett lvl. 35 Noibat. lvl. 34 Dustox lvl. 35 Charmeleon lvl. 35 Klink lvl. 34 The problem with this team was that none of it could withstand Anorith's Rock Slide. So I swapped out Dustox and Noibat for a Sandslash and a Graveler both level 34 but 3 of her Pokemon have water moves that sweep them too! Even my trusty Toxic Spikes isn't helping! It doesn't even affect Yanmega! So what am I supposed to do?! This is making me want to throw my laptop against the wall (though not really because it was expensive).
  19. This is one of my favorite things about the game. That it has a ton of in-depth story and if the slots on the trainer card are any indication at least 16 badges so despite how much time I spend on it I won't finish it too quickly!
  20. I got that feeling watching his Sun/Moon Extreme Randomizer, which I need to check up on, it was incomplete when I watched it. When Shmurda showed up as a Totem ally. His reaction was so genuinely shocked but I can't imagine how that was "random". I'll be mindful of that. Thanx.
  21. I totally love this guy. He's hilarious. Did anyone here watch his Extreme Alpha Sapphire Randomizer Nuzlocke? If not I highly recommend it. It's EPIC! He's the one who turned me onto this game. I'm watching at pace with my own playthrough after initially catching up. I'm just after Corey's suicide. I've caught the static Shuppet (shiny!) and am now in the Lapis Ward anticipating the upcoming battle with Cain at Beryl Cemetary. Apparently Lapis is where you obtain rock smash which is needed to surpass limited progression in the cemetery. I've got him paused in the middle of the suicide cut scene because I got a little lost as to what needed to be done next. I cringed at his negligence to use Jaques' gust to clear the poison from Corey's field. It was the better deal between his and mine. I didn't have gust, I had to use fire and sacrifice my Chameleon. Fortunately, I'll never touch Nuzlocke territory. It's far too limiting for my pleasure, I could never stick to just one Pokemon per area or stop using a fainted Pokemon.
  22. Oh wow. I'm afraid I am not savvy with that stuff but hopefully it helps the OP.
  23. Interesting. I carried around a Meowth for the first two badges worth of the plot and around level 26-27 her pickup reduced in function heavily. I've recently been made fully aware that it's a 10% chance and it's after battles that it applies but up until that point, she'd found me 10 Great Balls, about 6 Choco Candies, about 5 Dusk Balls a few ultra potions and a few blast powders. I found it a bit strange that her pickup functionality went from that nothing but an occasional super repel (though I appreciated those as well as money fodder since most trainer payouts are very low due to the region's extreme state of poverty). It was difficult, I even prevented her from evolving for a couple of levels but it got to the extent that I had to replace her on my team because she's ass in battle so as much as I love her she's a waste of a slot, at least as a Meowth. I hate that Persian can't maintain Pickup like Linoon and Linoon isn't all that useful in battle either.
  24. I loved it! They're two Team Meteor members who ripped off Team Rocket's motto!
  25. I have not battled them. That must be it. Thank you. So I just continue to talk to them until they break?
