Now that we've gotten a glimpse of Madam X's face, with a closer look, she looks like Nymiera but with red eyes. And considering Anju who was once a pious and accepting priest is now the psychotic and controlling Angie, with a curious handmaiden named Cera who REALLY looks like Cella AKA young Eldest, it stands to reason that SOMETHING happened to the Protectors of Aevium when they last confronted Vitus. We know Angie was apparently corrupted or possessed by Vitus, but what about Nymiera? I think somehow, Nymiera was corrupted and became Madam X also under some form of corruption or possession, would make her reaction to the Nymiera portrait during the bad future interesting. I should point out that Angie has red eyes too. Also i'm not too sure about this, but Nymiera's battle armor looks kinda like Madam X's armor. In regards to Nim, After checking the lore, in the dive sections, what if Nim is also an interceptor but a failed prototype? It would explain her ability to reform after dying, and the comments from Damian dehumanizing her. This would also explain her apparent disgust over having taken the name Nim, in the first place, and explain her connection to Crescent who also has a stake in this whole interceptor business.

Now here's an art question, what exactly is Crescent wearing? Particularly that pink ish line in the middle of her Sprite, is that supposed to be a tie? Also what's that on her hair?

Flora's line about xenpurgis can mean either it will not be activated at all or spreading, either way, I'm sure it's some sort of mind control virus. But having it be sentient is plausible, resistance is futile Mc. Speaking off, wonder what the different colors represent.

So after seeing both versions of 12, and getting the feeling V13 is going to take a while, i'd like to discuss something fun and speculate. According to the end part, V13 may involve the Puppet Master and a fun house, hope no one here is afraid of clowns. Now i made a post speculating Crescent may be the Puppet Master or at least connected, but then someone suggested the brilliant idea that Jenkel may be the Puppet Master. The fact that Crescent is near the Toybox in the nightmare world, suggests that she may play a role in this version,(and i totally want to know what exactly the MC and Crescent's exact relation is, Ourrealmomperhaps?) But whoever the puppet master is, i'm more worried about whatever they are going to throw at us in this house of fun. Now on to Xenpurgis, judging from the name, it may be some sort of kill virus, but considering Team Xen want Melia's light and she was injected with a gold version(or light version, it's a been a while.) the fact that it was Dr. Isha's final gift made under the orders of Team Xen, and him being half a brain surgeon, my guess is that it's some sort of mind control drug. Imagine how crazy a scenario that would be? The entire GDC and maybe even our friends under mind-control and us cornered, it sounds fun. It may also tie into the Puppet Master, as GDC falling under mind control may affect Nightmare city. Also i want to save Nim, i still owe her for Blacksteeple city and my bike.

I knew Flora was a snake, and so did the dev team. I had a feeling Kanon's character was retconed, though i feel he still has Texen in him, but more bumbling and innocently insensitive than Texen's cruelty, i guess some people can relate. Also WHAAT??? Karen is only 27ish? I think it's because of her overworld sprite, and her general demeanor that made people think she was in Tesla's age range. I still remember the double take i had when i saw her sprite. Also the fact that the MCs have canon personalities both amuses me and horrifies me, if we consider the implications. Hell yeah, Axel and i would get along, no wonder i picked him as my possible meat puppet.

Aya and Adrienn are in this game, and they seem to be the same age as they were in Reborn, so i doubt Fern is the dad of Flora and Florin unless you want to argue that a highschooler somehow raised two kids into adulthood, and founded a terrorist organization while being in two regions at the same time.

After replaying V12 on a join Team Bladestar run, i've come to a possibility, what if the reason the dev team won't let us romance anyone is because they already have romances planned out between the cast? I've been playing through V12 and realized there is some teasing towards Aelita and Ren, especially from Nastasia. Like during the scene after Aelita takes care of Alice, Nastasia embarrasses Ren by stating Ren's heartbeat increased when Aelita showed up, and stating Ren was very worried for her, that's an anime trope if i've ever seen one. And when you think about it, Ren and Aelita have certain similarities, they both have an association with a town and want to reform it so that's something they can bond over, have a history of being coddled and hating it, and both have a goal of becoming stronger and mature after an extended absence, ETC. And don't think that the fact that they literally only start interacting with each other in this Version fool you, this game has a habit of establishing strong bonds between characters who have literally only met for a couple of hours/days. Even their type matchup contrasts, Dark and fighting(granted before both got a shakeup) Maybe Ren has a thing for purple haired girls? Granted, i could totally be wrong but this is speculation. Just remember, the MC has been shafted in every character interaction, even if you feel that there are more romantic vibes between the PC and Aelita than Ren and Aelita could possibly have, if the Dev team wills it( or unwills it in regards to any romantic options for the Player), they will date. Look how ignored we are, every time when Madam X shows up, despite having the most personal reason to hate her, she ignores us, we can't do anything to show any form of hatred towards her, and characters like Melia and Aelita get more interactions with her. Which reminds me, i know people are suggesting post game quests for individual NPCs but hell, with how things are going, do we know if the PC is even going to be the Post game character? I can see a post game of Rejuvenation, making us permanently play as Melia, Aelita, or Ren, ALA Red Dead Redemption, considering it's totally possible we won't survive the endgame even if we win, since from what i can tell from the vague Garufa texts, we may disappear once we are done judging the world. Okay, that may be way too depressing for this kind of game, if it ends on the note, that we will be left behind while everyone else has their happy ending. And the thing is, it kinda fits Pokemon. the anime regardless of what you think if it, always pulled the heartstrings when Ash had to go to another region and leave his companions. Or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (which this game really loves getting music from) where our Character fades away after saving the world, and especially in explorers of the sky, it's quite heartbreaking.

With the introduction of the fact we can play as other trainers, and the fact that there is a fan game of a fan game of a fan game centering around Melia's time before the game, and the fact Rejuvenation clearly favors the writer's mary sue over the player's mary sue, i wonder if this game should have had Melia as the PC from the start. Sure the main game's appeal is the silent protagonist that we can insert ourselves into but this is a fangame, and they already have broken or bent several Pokemon conventions like 18 gyms, swearing, and killing Pokemon, so would having a talking PC really be so bad? Hell this game starts with us playing as Maria. All the common complaints about Melia such as stealing the spotlight, would be alleviated if she was the PC. One of the most frustrating parts of this game for me personally, is how the PC can't talk when there is so much potential for it, like how do we feel after Nancy dies? Nim dies? How do we feel about being dragged into this conflict? ETC, instead Melia usually speaks over us, such as the Nim and Jenner funeral scene. Hell, this game prioritizes Melia's story and feelings over the PC, like for example, despite Madame X killing our mother, Melia is the one who interacts with Madame X during the bad future, and at the end of V11 get's the big triumphant heroic declaration that she will defeat Madame X, while we just stand around and do nothing, her dad is the big bad(or one of them) and any plot developments that relate to us get shafted in favor of developments for others, like in GDC we find that there are two impersonators well impersonating us and our dead mother and desecrating our name and our mother's memory, we stay silent, and then this plot point is forgotten, and Melia and Venam's relationship get's more attention, and the game forgets about those two copycats. (Granted my memory is a little fuzzy over this, memory wiped Valerie shows up i think? if someone can correct me please do) I would bet you 500 pokedollars that if Comet and Cosmia were impersonating Melia and Jenner, the game would deal with them sooner. Granted, i will say this, the mystery of the Interceptor, what happened to the various other Player characters has me intrigued, so it seems the Dev team have something interesting in store for us.

If they considered Team Bladestar, a local police problem, they would inform the local police of the identity of the Team Bladestar leader, but nope. Like i said, this is really odd if on a join Team Bladestar run, i mean i played a arrest Flora run first, but their reactions are still odd there. In regards to their relationship, i still find it odd, Looker is being condescending to Anabel by saying it's too dangerous for her to go on this mission despite Anabel being his superior and a fellow agent. If Anabel was Emma from Pokemon X, then that would make sense, but nope, hell Looker being over-protective is still nonsensical when you remember he gave the Bureau to Emma so she could support herself and fight crime. Looker is also willing to use us as bait for the Ultra Beasts BTW, which is something even Nanu of all people finds objectionable. In regards to them being robots or impostors, even if the MC doesn't even know who they are, all the impostors need are the appearance of being with Interpol to get the MC to cooperate. Remember, they end the latest version with a Rift Pokemon in their possession. I will say this, however, the writer did remember Looker's catchphrase of how he introduces himself so Looker's not totally OOC. I don't know, maybe i'm overthinking this, but the fact that Amanda was replaced with a robot, means that it's possible Looker and Anabel are too, i mean, again, Looker's theme does't even play when you meet him, and the Dev team definitely could have easily played it when Anabel and Looker first appear but they don't, instead it's this vaguely sinister and oppressive theme that sounds like it's for a villain.

Now here's something more behind the scenes, how did Kanon go from generic romantic rival to Venam and jerkass to us for some reason from what i can tell off older builds, to literally a magic construct slave? Also: Was V12 supposed to have a branching route because we were given the option to join Team Bladestar, yet V12 acts like we oppose Flora. Illusion of free will shattered.

Looker doesn't even have his usual theme, or his way of talking, it's really unnerving. They both feel OOC, i can't tell if it's deliberate or if it's just the dev team not being able to capture their character. Looker comes off as a generic agent, instead of his lovably goofy incompetent yet badass self, and for some reason, tries to play a protective role to Anabel despite her being his boss and a fellow Interpol agent, when game Looker is pretty okay with her being on the field. And Anabel well, how do i put this, feels more like Melia than she does her sun and moon self. But what really gave me warning bells was their reaction to finding out Flora is the head of Team Bladestar, if this was Game Looker the moment he found out about Flora, he would go to the GDC Cafe, and then arrest Flora, but for whatever reason, both Looker and Anabel are all, exposing Flora is not our mission, only the rift pokemon are. Like what? You are the Interpol, go arrest the terrorist leader, this is nonsensical especially on a join Team Bladestar run, where Flora is free and clearly plotting a terrorist attack, Looker is incompetent but not like this. Also another thing that sets off alarm bells is that they tell you not to inform the Scooby Gang about them despite there being no real reason not to besides not having the main plot interact with the side quests. Are Looker and Anabel, robots too? Are they impostors? Or is it just the writing style not capturing Looker properly? I doubt it considering, this game has Huey.

Honestly, i'm fine with it, plus we always have headcanons if we really want one. Let's be real folks, we can't have a Romantic sidequest if we don't talk much. I've gotten over my initial shock i'll never be able to date Nim, or Piano girl or Aelita or Melia or Venam, or Team Anti-Assist grunt or Angie, or,Texen and Thomas Blakeory. Let's cut the team some slack over this, because i still have the high of V12 with me. After much thinking, a romance sideplot with the cast is unfeasible, they all have their own goals, especially Aelita, and with how many plot points this game is juggling, a romantic subplot would be tricky. Hell, with the game's official couple, Melia and Venam, i doubt the game will put much focus on it for now, like those two dorks are piping hot messes, and jumping into a relationship now would be trouble for both of them especially after 12. I feel like Venam wants to mature more before dating Melia, and Melia is her own mess of issues. Now in a previous post, i mentioned i felt Melia going for Venam was like a rejection of us, and then i realize i picked the wrong words and incited people, whoops. Now i realized what i was actually trying to say might also be controversial but here we go ready? WE"VE BEEN TURNED INTO A THIRD WHEEL. NOOOOOOOOOO. Now everytime we hang out with Melia and Venam it's going to be filled with awkwardness, kinda like how Harry Potter felt when he was worried Ron and Hermione dating would mean he would be left behind. This is why we should hang out with Ren and Aelita more, sure Ren's part of a terrorist organization and is probably going to jail but whatever. Guys, it's just NPCs let's try to be more mature about this, and don't let this ruin the game for us, don't let the joy of V12 get ruined because we can't get into Saki's pants.

Oh wow, i made a thread where both Zumi and Jan reacted, this is so cool. '' Ahem '' Sorry if this post made me sound entitled or anything, really love your game, i just wanted to make a thread discussing this particular element, but really i just wanted to discuss how we as the MC are in relation to the rest of the cast. but then it spiraled to this, whoops. EDIT: also i was using friendzone as a clumsy joke, double whoops. oh. Now i really made myself look like a jackass, sorry. I'm actually pretty cool with no romance as long as we get to hang out with the cast more. Like i said, in the first post, it's fine if there are no romance sidequests for us, at least it won't get in the way of the main plot. Ouch, now Zumi's giving me a burn. Yeah i will admit, IRL i'm kinda of an idiot and young when it comes to these sort of things, but i hope i have made it clear that i was trying to be joking throughout this post, but guess i just sound like a wierdo. I dunno, maybe because this game was more anime-ish than what the main games are, and i guess i played myself when assuming the dev team would use certain tropes, ah well, live and learn. Yeah this post was written in response to the Q/A the dev team had recently, I never considered the harem implication though. Each to their own as how we interpret our relationships with the NPCs as you say, though ironically i actually felt the part where Venam and Melia are in the same bed showed that their relationship was familial and platonic in nature, because the fact that they were able to sleep in the same bed with no shyness showed that they considered each other sisters because they grew up with each other but boy was i wrong. Though i considered Venam promising to be less selfish for Melia less because of a crush, and more because Venam was genuinely hurting people with how selfish she was like with Lenny and Lucia and growing up. EDIT: Also c'mon, Nim was totally flirting with us everytime we met up. Hell during the part where she acts all weird before Akuwa town, there is a part where she pretends to have a husband, then quickly states she doesn't have a husband. Though i think at this point, the dev team is probably going to reveal a familial connection with Nim and us. Please don't Dev team.

So, considering the fact the dev team has friendzoned us with the entire Rejuv cast especially Melia, i want to use this chance to reflect on our relations with the cast. What do we mean to them? Are we really their friends, or just a tool to help them achieve victory? (Side note: I seriously find it hard to believe when designing this game and the cast, the dev team or at least Jan, never ONCE considered the dating mechanic, i mean really? Look at how waifu-ish half the ladies are in this game, especially Aelita and Nim. I've joked that at least Saki is Jan's own waifu, but hey, it's the Dev team's game and if they want to friendzone us and the cast, it's fine.) Though is it just me, or does the confirmation that Melia apparently returns Venam's romantic love feel like a rejection of us? There is a reason why a certain majority of players thought the dev team was setting up a romance between us and Melia. I personally assumed that the dev team would have set a love triangle between us, Melia and Venam, but ehh it appears it's a love triangle between Ren, Melia, and Venam. I personally feel that Ren and Aelita are our closest friends at this point, Aelita especially considering she's like the only person who's more our friend than Melia's friend unlike say Venam, Ren, and Kanon. Considering we have such great chemistry this patch, i'd rather hang out with them than Melia, especially considering she's got her new siblings, and a reunion with Venam to prioritize. (Disclaimer: I actually like Melia and don't consider her a mary sue, but it's clear we get along more with Ren and Aelita, at least to me, and she considers the people i listed to be more important to her.) Besides, Ren and Aelita, I would consider, Nim and Amber to be close to us. Amber in particular if you did her sidequest, plus i loved how she was genuinely trying to build a friendship with us and make amends for acting like a brat, before Venam rudely interrupted. She was totally cheering for us during the GDC Tournament, now that's a friend. Nim, because she saved us from falling back in blacksteeple, which was so unlike the rest of the NPCs who basically needed us to bail them out of problems, Nim felt like someone we could depend on and she GAVE US A BIKE AND TWISTED SPOON, i don't see other NPCs who gave us stuff like that. It's also interesting to note our PC is genuinely concerned when we reunite with Lorna. In regards to our enemies, sure Madam X killed our mom, but i like to imagine, Geara is our personal nemesis when it comes to Team Xen outside of the head honcho, Melia has Zetta, and Aelita has Madelis, but we have Geara. Geara almost kills our friends, then frames us, is the one who singles us out during a group fight in Terujuma, and is the one who kills us the first time on Valor mountain. Plus just as a reminder, he's the first Admin to personally come hunt us down.

I gotta say, it was pretty cool to be replied to by the head dev of Rejuvenation. I mean yeah, this is what the thread is for but you know, also thanks Jan, maybe i'll follow up when you are less overwhelmed.
