People still play Ultra Sun/Moon, and will likely continue to play it as long as online services remain up(as far as I know). The festival plaza is the online hub for a lot of activities in the the gen 7 games. From there you have the battle spot(which as of gen 6 singles are 3v3, but you have a team preview showing 6 mons, doubles is of course vgc style, 2v2 with 4 mons on each side and a full team preview of 6), the usual GTS for trading and so forth. The plaza has some nice things, but it's usually easier to get them with the help of other players. There's dye shops for dying your clothing different colors, there's a shop that lets you buy levels for your pokemon(even though in the ultra versions it's very easy to chain Chansey for exp) and even a shop that people manipulate for bottle caps so they can max out a pokemon's IV if it's level 100. There's also minigames for gaining the plaza points, which are kinda grindy, I wouldn't really call them fun. And in the ultra versions there is the battle agency, which is sort of a fun battling minigame where having friends that are higher level in the agency helps a lot. If you get to rank 30 in the agency you can get some sick shades. I think you can also tag team the battle tree with a friend if you want? I don't remember. That's only for doubles. Aside from that, I don't remember what else there is.

I have to agree with the sentiment stated above by @The Swordsman. We're just kicking a dead horse at this point. I've been trying to keep up with the game and seeing videos like these have sort of given me a good idea of what's going on. In the short, in some ways there's improvements, the games have stepped up a tiny bit here and there. There's are good ideas and concepts that was added to them but it's not worth my buck. It doesn't match the typical switch game quality, and I really don't think end product justifies the cuts made. When I buy a game, I'm looking for something that has a lot of content that will make me want to sink hours upon hours of gameplay into the game. I'm also looking for replayability, especially now more than ever since the pokemon games on the switch allow us to have multiple save files, but with the amount of hand holding, I feel as if the story will be more tedious to go through after the first playthrough rather than an exciting way for me to rediscover the game later. I still hope anyone who actually buys the game and plays it enjoys it though, especially the kids. They deserve that at least. Edit: Left something out here. I've been keeping track of the current Gen 8 competitive scene. Yeah, I know it's literally a day or two old at this point, but it's looking pretty messy. It's looking like competitive smogon play is going to have to ban dynamaxing. We'll see how it goes when the dust settles though.

Well, #GameFreakLied has been trending on twitter for a while. But yeah, people did buy it and it is what it is.

Welp the day of reckoning is here. Apparently there were some issues on release, I'm not sure if those are resolved yet or not(apparently if you downloaded Sword and Shield from the e-shop and used auto save, the game would delete all the data off your SD card). I haven't looked into the game itself yet. I'm a little scared to as my general thoughts before this was that regardless of dexit and any quality issues, it'd still be a main stream pokemon game that's at least an experience for one play through. I'm fearing the worst now though, I'm kind of expecting a dumpster fire honestly.

I'm not a fan of the track made by Toby. It's not bad. I am a fan of his work. It's just I can hear sooooo much Undertale in it. Its not that I dislike Undertale either. I'm not crazy about it either, but it was a good time. It's just more so that Undertale and Pokemon are different things. It's not like he's not capable of creating more diverse music either. I heard the OST for Little Town Hero, and it was pretty good, but it was also a bit different than his usual works too.

Someone might be able to trade you a new one. You could also potentially use a shared pc mod to transfer it from an older file to a new file as well. Also side note: Can we get have some sort of message that comes with the game when people download it telling them to be careful with the exp share? This sort of situation happens a lot.

This. The trailer could suggest anything. Pretty sure once we get in-game it's going to be way obvious though. Or maybe not actually. When I look at the transition from XY to Sun/Moon, I realized that they sort of improved on the surprise element. Most people suspected the Aether foundation of being "evil" before the games were even released, but when you look back at the actually story you realize that it wasn't that obvious. Compare that to how we were introduced to Lysandre who basically screamed out that he was the leader of Team Flare, and you realize GF got a tiiiiiiiiny bit better. Maybe they'll actually surprise us this time.

I'm still going for Sword most likely. When it comes to exclusives it's more about which ones I don't want to bother waiting to trade for, and I definitely want Sirfetch'd right away. Galarian Ponyta and Rapidash can wait. What I am more interested in Shield for is the Ghost gym. Fighting is so bland, and Bea is overrated considering we've already had Maylene and Korrina. I'm still guessing that both box art legendaries are going to be Steel/Fighting. Steel just feels as if it's given due to them being the Sword and Shield legendaries, while I feel Fighting wil lbe there to represent justice, righteousness and chivalry. But I haven't really paid that much attention to all the interviews and potential leaks, and that feels way too simple.

Well, that was aggressive, although you're always aggressive so I'm not quite sure what I expected. This is all fun and games for most of us. It's like a betting session in some ways. We're trying to make predictions and we're having fun seeing who turns out to be right, and being shocked when something we expected to happen doesn't. Most of us enjoy his nuzlockes, and honestly, if you've seen any of his past nuzlockes, then you'd know that if he whites out it's not over. He might take a break, but there'll be a season two, and we'll still get even more content to enjoy. And as for the AI, it's just a comment most of us have made at one point or another. It's not all luck, but for the most part, I think a lot of us who've actually watched the nuzlocke so far can tell that there have been plenty of moments where trainers have had way better moves to use on his team but simply haven't used them. And most of us are amused by it, astonished at his luck, and overall having a good time watching. I'm sorry you think all of us are sadistic or spiteful for no reason and that you can't seem to get any enjoyment out of these discussions, but maybe you can understand a bit now. And if you can't, well, it's whatever, I tried.

On schedule and on time for once.

I've given up trying to predict when he's going to white out. Pretty much just feels like you're sitting there thinking that the next big surprise will get him, only for the AI to get sloppy. It should be better later in the game though, since better AI's won't be glitchy enough to make any awful decisions.

Was supposed to upload earlier but I fell asleep. My cat saved the day night though. I'll get off my lazy bum and update time stamps soonish again.
