[E17 SPOILERS] I haven't started a new run yet, so I haven't actually seen the roster changes yet, but from what I have heard, I really don't like them, at least regarding the rivals. The Gym Leaders changes make sense to me, but the rivals seem to have suffered from it, at least thematically. Alola-Muk and Primarina makes sense with Cain, and the other changes seens to have benefitted him, at least from a challenge perspective, but I hate the changes they made to Victoria's and Fern's teams. - Victoria: the reason she chose Tepig as a starter is because Cal doesn't have an Emboar in his team (and I think it was her ace in the old league). Also, this might be more subjective than in Fern's case, but I think Emboar is more threatening than Incineroar. - Fern: not only Serperior fits him much more than Decidueye, Serperior is overall a MUCH more threatening Pokemon. Decidueye is a very underwhelming Pokemon, stats-wise. Also, from what I've seen, now, from the very first fight he has a mixed team (Budew, Rowlett and Sandile). I liked that he started as a type-specialist, but starts ditching most of his Grass mons as the story goes on to try to beat the protagonist. Does anyone know what their final teams look like in this new version?

[SPOILERS - E17] Your team seems pretty good to me. The only change I would make would be to give Garchomp Stone Edge instead of Iron Head, but that's more due to personal taste. I get the idea is for Garchomp to be able to deal with Fairy types, but ideally, when facing one, you should probably switch out to either Aegislash or Greninja instead of risking him, and Stone Edge would give him much better coverage. Also, again, personal taste, but I think that non-competitively, Aegislash works better as a physical attacker instead of a special one, due to his movepool. Also also, Nature Power is pretty good in Pokemon Reborn, so you could try teaching it to your Serperior.

Can anyone give me a step-by-step in the last room of Mirage Tower? (at least I think it's the last room) I've been at it for almost one hour, and can't figure what to do.
-
Problem solved, thanks @DreamblitzX. Still think it's kind of effed up that they only accept the original ones (it makes sense in-game, but it's kind of unfair to the player)
-
@HahnSolo I already tried, but he's not accepting. The same thing happened with the other trainers in this sidequest, where they only accepted if it was their respective Pokemon. I think this might be a bug
-
Can someone trade Eustace's Vanillite? I assume it's what I need to give to him when he asks for an Electrode. And no, he's not accepting random Vanillites, nor Electrodes. Thanks!
-
@luzivert @HahnSolo Thanks a lot guys, I had no idea about that.

So... I finished the main story on E17, and I've been wondering: are the Z-Ring and Z-Crystals already available in the game? 'cause I haven't come across neither

If You Could Make Your Own Mega Evolution Mk. II
iDunno replied to Lord Chespin's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
So I'll do the obvious one: Mega Tyrantrum Type: Rock/Dragon Ability: either Strong Jaw or Tough Claws Stats: HP - 82 Attack - 160 (+39) Defense - 154 (+35) Special Attack - 29 (-40) Special Defense - 90 (+31) Speed - 106 (+35) Total: 621 (+100) Just your average Mega beatstick. New Moves: Sovereign's Fangs (Dragon-Type) 100 Power, 5 PP, 95% accuracy. Super effective on Steel types. Biting move. Makes contact. Move exclusive to Tyrantrum, learns at lvl 58 (instead of Head Smash, who can now only be accessed through Move Relearner) -
To add to the Mega Scizor argument: Titania has Mega Scizor's colors and its knight-like looks fits her sprite a lot (she has armor on her left arm). My only question is if it's gonna be her Ace, or is it gonna be Aegislash?
-
Primarina learns Moonblast at lvl 44, so you don't need Dazzling Gleam. You might want it to keep Icy Wind (it learns through lvl up), since it helps with Primarina's mediocre speed. About Lucario, I think I would prefer Close Combat over High Jump Kick, but that's just taste (PP and Power X Accuracy, pick your poison). Also, like @Paul25 said, Iron Tail tends to miss, so you might want to replace that with either ExtremeSpeed or something for coverage, like Bone Rush, Blaze Kick, Crunch, Ice Punch or Thunder Punch. As of Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Lucario has access to Meteor Mash through breeding with Smeargle, so in future episodes, if you want a strong Steel move, you might need to breed another Riolu. Other than that, I don't see a problem with your team.

- Always use my real name for my character's name, because it feels weird giving it another name; - Almost never give my Pokemon nicknames - I have trouble thinking of nicknames, and when I do, I always regret the nickname I pick. Also, with the exception of fangames, no oponent gives its Pokemon nicknames, so I think it doesn't fit for the player character to give its Pokemon nicknames - Save for Charizard, I never pick the Fire starter, at least not in my first playthrough of the game. The only Fire starters I actually like are Charizard and Blaziken, and I tend to pick Sceptile in the Hoenn games. - Always have one Pokemon on the team whose sole purpose is to give max coverage as possible (things like Nidoquee/Nidoking, Goodra, Lucario, etc, who have good coverage in their movepool) - I have just recently noticed this, but in most games, whenever I need a Psychic type, I always go for Gardevoir - Whenever I have a Water type on my team, it's almost always a Specially-based one (because you always have to use Surf in these games) - I don't always do that, but in most important Boss fights, I try to beat the Boss's Ace Pokemon with my own Ace (usually, my starter) - I ALWAYS overlevel my Pokemon. It bothers me when I see other trainers in the area have Pokemon at a higher level than mine.
-
My strategy will be to break the field first. Breed a Feebas with Haze, give it max investments in HP and Defense, and make sure the Milotic's ability is Marvel Scale (activated by the Field). Give it Surf and Dragon Pulse, and make it your lead. My bet is her lead is gonna be Kingdra, expecting the player to try to break the field at the beginning of the battle with Surf, which Kingdra resists 4x. Also, I'm sure most, if not all her 'mons are gonna have Dragon Dance, and the first thing they are going to do is go for DD to sweep your team (DD is boosted by the Field). Use Surf, Haze, and Surf again to break the field and reset her Pokemon's stats, and heal in-between if you have to. Then, after the field is turned into a Cavern, just use the rest of your team (with the usual Fairy, Ice and Dragon moves) to defeat her normally.
-
Just use a Lapras with Freeze-Dry, Water Absorb, max EVs in HP and Special Attack (or one of its defenses), and give it either Leftovers or Assault Vest. Done. It may not be able to beat her entire team, but it can probably severely cripple her. You could also try Ferrothorn (yes, she can run something with Flamethrower like Slowbro or Octillery, but her Field Effect mitigates Fire attacks, so there's that).
-
- Getting Corin Rouge behind bars and breeding a Shiny, Jolly Magikarp - Aegislash, Mimikyu, Vikavolt, Salazzle, Lycanroc, Drampa, Golisopod, Wishiwashi, Alola Ninetales, Marowak and Exeggutor - Custom Reborn Silvally - Z-Moves - Possibly the Mega Ring? - Facing Team Meteor again (plz Solaris rematch on the Desert) - Testing if my strategy against Amaria's Field will work - And especially, finally beating Edgelord Titania. Can't wait to see her reaction after you beat her. Also, I'm really interested about the Story contents this episode. Amethyst said this episode is light in story, and the story will be a branched one. I wonder what she meant by that... I hope we get to see other Side Characters this Episode, other than Titania, Amaria, the inevitable Team Meteor, and Victoria's voice in the gym's intercom.

What do you guys think Lin's Hydreigon is going to be like?
iDunno replied to AsNKrysis's topic in Reborn City
Like a peach, if its trainer is anything to go by. In all seriousness, I think there's three options for that Hydreigon: 1) It's a Hackmon with impossible stats; 2) It's gonna be fought in a Field that negates its weaknesses (maybe makes Dragon super effective against Fairy, considering in the old league Lin's type was Dragon); 3) It's gonna be a PULSE Pokemon with insane bulk, speed and special attack, good coverage (I'm thinking Draco Meteor + Earth Power + Fire Blast + Flash Cannon), and an OP ability (Contrary?) I personally think it's gonna be 2 and 3. I'm actually more curious about what her other five Pokemon are going to be. -
Burning Spirits: An Omega Ruby Blind Playthrough (COMPLETED)
iDunno replied to Filthy Casual's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
In my first fight against the E4, my team was Sceptile (with Sceptilite), Gyarados, Gardevoir, Aggron, Manectric and Beautifly (yes, Beautifly. She was the only one of the team with a Bug and Flying attack, so I kept her throughout the whole game). The Gyarados was a shiny one, found as a Magikarp after Chain Fishing in Dewford Beach (found a Shiny Tentacool too), and the Aggron had Head Smash AND Rock Head, found with the DexNav in Granite Cave. My favorite moment in my LP was in the fight with Mega Metagross, were I was able to defeat him using only Mega Sceptile, hitting him with a Focus Blast that took half his health, and finishing him off in style with a Leaf Storm. The End Credits of ORAS is really awesome. I don't remember much about my original Ruby run, but I remember my team was terrible, with Pelipper, Exploud and Walrein being the only ones I remember, alongside Sceptile. I think she's really cool, just wish she was in the game a little bit more, or that she appeared in future installments. Also, her Battle Theme is my favorite piece of music in all of Pokemon. Welp, she is definitely older than the MC (who I think is 13, actually). Some characters refer to her as "woman", while others refer to her as "young lady", so I would guess she's around 18-23. She doesn't look older than that. SPOILERS, don't read if you didn't finish the Delta Episode: -
Burning Spirits: An Omega Ruby Blind Playthrough (COMPLETED)
iDunno replied to Filthy Casual's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
That's one of my biggest problems with Team Magma and Aqua that they didn't fix with the remakes: every member uses the SAME Pokemon. Couldn't they mix it up? Maybe give Courtney a Claydol, or a Ninetales, and give Tabitha a Flygon or a Magcargo? *sigh* Yeah, I think everyone agrees that was the weirdest change ever. It was cool to have Steven be a Bonus Boss à la Red, but Milotic doesn't make for a very compelling Final Boss. Are you gonna get the National Dex after the E4? Because it unlocks a couple non-Hoenn Pokemon on the region, and there are Victory Road trainers with non-Hoenn Pokemon -
Burning Spirits: An Omega Ruby Blind Playthrough (COMPLETED)
iDunno replied to Filthy Casual's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
Honestly, that's the case with most of the new remastered cries. They sound like a muddled mess, and in some cases you can barely hear the old cry in the new one. Wish they kept them as they were :/ Also, funnily enough, I have also started playing Omega Ruby for the first time recently (not exactly blind though, I have already been spoiled a ton of things), and I can attest to the nostalgia rush this game gives And kudos for keeping Ninjask on the team, that thing is an absolute pain to lvl up in the early game -

E17 Obtainable Pokemon List Changes [Potential Spoilers?]
iDunno replied to Endstrom's topic in Reborn City
I know, that's what I meant. He said "involve Lin", but not necessarily how. I thought her actions in E16 (ambushing and torturing the five and killing you-know-who) were the cause of that, but I think Solaris and the others would still have to go after the bracelets to redeem themselves. I wouldn't bet against her making an appearance this episode, though ("you failed, Solaris" *SLASH* or something like that). -
I read somewhere that changes would include: Cain gets Alola Muk instead of his normal Muk, Aya gets Salazzle, Shade gets Mimikyu, Julia gets Oricorio and Alola Geodude, and Serra gets Alola Ninetales, and her TM changes from Frost Breath to Aurora Veil.

E17 Obtainable Pokemon List Changes [Potential Spoilers?]
iDunno replied to Endstrom's topic in Reborn City
Cool, Gible line available, but unless we get the TM for Earthquake and a decent Rock move, it's not gonna be of that much use, so I'll stay with Tyrantrum. Also, makes me wonder if we're gonna have our 1x1 rematch with Solaris this episode, since, you know, it's a Desert environment and he's in charge of going after the Sapphire bracelet, which Titania has. Also also, only one line left! Probably gonna be Jangmo-o, since it's the least OP of the remaining lines (although USUM gave it some major boosts). So everyone going into E17 will know the Corin Rouge sidequest will be a wild-goose chase -
@dotahkin01 It does work (I have a DD Feraligatr in Reborn), and the Feraligatr line also gets it by breeding with the Axew line (that learns DD by lv 32) and the Horsea line. Also, I think it counts, considering Serperior is being listed as one os the best starters, but it's only dangerous if it knows Leaf Storm, which it only gets at lv 62
