Mim just moved quietly, not joining in on the yelling, or contributing anything of her own. She was just ready for this to be over. I-20

She sighed, annoyed that he wasn't getting it... "It's not... I would have been ok, right? At least the first time. I'm not trying to put myself in danger, but I do need to be a part of the team. I know I got him angry but I was just trying to get him to make a mistake. Which he did. He hurt you and he's going to pay for that but... If you're worrying about me, you're going to get yourself killed. You can't... I'm not worthy of your worry, ok? You're a prince! I'm your subject. I should be the one risking my life for you, not the other way around. It's why I did what I did with Death. W-when he caught me and had me like... I... I knew that if I didn't do something, someone else would and... And you're so hot headed like I can be that I knew... And h-he had me so tight I couldn't... All I could do is what I did a-and then i-it just happened so fast and the poison and the s-sword a-and and... And...." She collapsed, shaking, terrified, memories fresh with reminders of the pain, of the helplessness flooding her brain. Tears began to pour down her cheeks as she tried to stutter her way through her point, but nothing that made sense came out. Wrapping her arms around her legs, she knew she must look pathetic, weak, useless, but it didn't matter. She couldn't stop, the memories of the pain still so fresh.

Mim winced at the tone, and walked away a small distance from the rest of the group. Enough that they wouldn't hear normal voices, but certainly close enough that yelling would be audible. A hesitation, then a shake of her head. "Look, at the start of the battle, I wanted to yell but just... I'm not going to. But you can't do that sort of thing anymore. Please. You're so much more important than me. I can handle myself too. And you're just... You're more important than me, ok? We need you. You're royalty, even if you don't like to talk about it, and we might need that some day. I'm just... A merchant's daughter plays around with potions. I did what I did today because I knew if I didn't, someone else would end up doing something stupid. And I was right, you all did. So please just... Promise me you won't do something like jumping in front of me like that again, ok? Please?"

While Mim had clearly been recovering, she had stayed unconscious, tucked under a blanket by a caring Simeon. There were a few moments where she tossed and turned, but she eventually had settled. But as the crew began to move, talk, she finally found herself stirring. Waking up, she slowly pushed the blanket off herself, sitting up and looking around. Glancing down at herself, she winced at the blood stained and torn clothes. A gentle touch to her cheek found a raised slash on her cheek. It seemed that the poison on the arrow had meant the healing hadn't finished the job. She'd seen this sort of thing before, scars even after magical healing. She bit her lip, staring at her hands. She couldn't focus on all of this now. She slid off her jacket, folding it up and tucking it into her backpack. It was ruined for now, she'd have to try and fix it later. A small hesitation and her hat followed suit. It wasn't nearly as cold down here anyways, and it had all just been getting in the way anyways. She had to move forward. Stepping out of the tent, she spotted Crimson, a small frown crossing her face. She walked over to him, and tugged on his sleeve. "I... We need to talk. Ok? Away from all of this. You don't want this around everyone else I don't think."

While Mim showed no signs of waking up, her breathing slowly returned to normal, and a tinge of color returned to her cheeks. Almost hesitantly, her body relaxed, settling down into the coat she was wrapped up in. If her wounds were checked, there would be no signs of bleeding, though the wounds on her neck and cheek had seemingly scarred over instead of healing normally, presumably from the poison that had invaded from those spots. Tabitha's healing had done its job. She was no longer dying. But the toll the experience had taken on her, fright, blood loss, trauma, had left her mentally and physically drained. It was unclear how soon she would wake up, but at least those worried about her could rest easy knowing that she would eventually open her eyes once more.

The pain came, but not how she expected. A stabbing pain in her gut, followed by the piercing pain in her neck had caused her to let out a whimper, the only sound she was letting herself make. She was crushed in Death's grip, in pain, and once again had an arrow to her neck. The pain was building, and there was no hope in sight. He was going to kill her. At least... At least that would free the others up to do more than they could now... But... Crimson, I... I'm sorry... She mouthed the words, eyes still shut, hoping that he would see it and know that the message was for him. A regret there then. She could be ok with that one regret. He deserved better anyways... And now it was just waiting for the pain... Instead, she was jostled, a blaze of pain on her cheek and then... She opened her eyes, one arm wrapped around her belly, trying to slow the bleeding. Ferdy... More happened in an instant. They were still fighting... And then she was yanked away, bringing the pain back up as she was jostled, bringing attention to the fire starting to burn in her veins. A cry escaped, pain filled, blood coming up with the noise. Her vision was turning hazy, black edges closing in. And as she tumbled down towards the black, a single image caught in her mind. Baldur, on the ground, arrow sticking out of him. She could do one last thing before she died at least. A hand fumbled at her waist. A single potion pulled out. Tossed gently onto the ground next to the priest. "F-for... Poison. No--not strong... enough... for me... Give... to... Bal..." And then she gave in, letting the darkness wash over her, pulling her down into the depths of the pitch black ocean that awaited her.

Shin what the fuck, was the only thought that was in her head for a second, watching helplessly as he fell into the lake. But Death laughing snapped her out of it. Refocused her anger. The anger the was suddenly a bright white hot ball in her chest. She didn't need Baldur's yell. She had already been moving. A sudden violent twist, pulling her body away from Death, just the slightest bit that she could manage. Her body twisting towards him, as she plunged the arrow she held hidden into his side. A smile, and then she closed her eyes. Waiting. Waiting for the sharp bite of pain and the darkness beyond that she knew was waiting. At least... At least Baldur might have the chance to escape now.

It happened in an instant. If she was given the chance to replay it all in her head later, she would kick herself for letting him get that close, even though she knew she probably wouldn't have been able to stop him even if she had noticed him. Still, it was stupid on her part. But she couldn't focus on that just yet. She needed to do something even stupider first. Right now he was in control. But if she could disrupt that, even for a second... Maybe she could let the group escape from this. Let Crimson get out of this. And if she got hurt along the way, well... She looked over at Fey and gave a small sad smile. And then focused again on the man threatening her life. "I would give you crap for picking on the smallest one in the group but I guess with your size you don't really have any other options, huh? You couldn't really hug anyone else like this without having your bow be completely useless. Still, hope this makes you feel better. Picking on the little girl..." She shot a quick grin to Pestilence, waving with her free hand. Though, as she put the arm down after the wave, she casually ended with her fingers wrapped around on of the arrows resting in their quiver at her hip. It was on the far side from Death... Hopefully he wouldn't notice. "Go on now. It'll be ok, I know you can't go against him just yet. He's too scary to you. My group won't hurt you though. I promise. And we'll see you again in better circumstances hopefully. But your bro has to prove he's the smartest for now, so just leave before things get ugly, alright?" The arrow was out of the sheath, resting quietly at her side now. If he hadn't noticed yet, it was now or never...

Kerr sighed, dropping his arms back down to his side. "Ah, yeah, no, see, I'll be blunt. We don't have a healer. Our last one left us. Our last battle... Guess I shouldn't hide things even if it would make selling this easier. Our last battle sucked. We struggled to make it out alive, and we saw things none of us want to see again. But we probably will and honestly we'll probably see worse. And not everyone could take it. So right now, our options are you or using vulns. I know we were hoping to pick up another healer here but look around. Anyone that isn't you is pretty much spoken for right now. So yeah. I don't think there is another choice. But I still would have asked you even if there was." -

Kerr nodded, walking alongside the man, a small smile on his face and his hands tucked behind his head "Eh, we all have our troubles. Some of us have our past lives hidden. Most of us, if I'm thinking about it. Others are struggling with losing people or to keep up with others, or to handle their tempers, or whatever. It's a mixed bag, yknow? Part of being a person, I think. So no shame in that. No shame in failure either, only shame in giving up on everything after one failure." He hesitated and then pushed forward one little bit more. "Guess what I'm saying is... Look, our group could use some more healing if possible, I suspect. I'm not gonna say it's a sure thing. But... if you're willing, I can ask my leader if she's willing to give you a chance." -

Kerr nodded, releasing his arm finally, and walking alongside the man, hands tucked into his pockets. "I get it, I do. Though you still clearly want to help people, don't you?" They were headed outside now, and Kerr jerked his head towards the stables. "Wanna go check on that horse of yours then? Be away from people, be around the creature you know and are comfortable with? Could be a good place to relax, at least a little. Get your nerves down, help you see things normally again. At least a little. I know she won't make everything go away." -

For some reason, Kerr found he couldn't let go of the other man's arm. He shook his head. "Right. Fair enough. How about this, how about you and I go talk outside? Away from everything else, getting some fresh air, that sort of thing. But I'm not just letting you leave here alone right now, ok?" -

The tone was clearly somber. And what was more, it was also clear to Kerr that the man heading out of the building rapidly was the one that had been being yelled about. There was no other reason that a healer would be leaving the area otherwise. Not with the atmosphere here, there were clearly more people needing healed. Well, he couldn't do anything about that, but maybe he could do something... Reaching out, he snagged the green-haired man's arm as he quietly asked, "Hey there, healer. My name is Kerr. I'm not gonna ask about why you're leaving, I think that much is obvious. But you can't let their yelling hit you. Sometimes there's nothing healers can do, everyone knows that. But also people know that emotions don't let people think rationally either. So tell me, what's your name?"
