  1. It was a good thing that Crimson was no longer paying attention to Mim, because he would have seen her deflate slightly as the back and forth between him and Justine started. So this is how it was. She should have known. It made sense too. Justine was so pretty and talented, of course Crimson would fall for her. She had been stupid to go back to thinking that maybe her crush could turn into something more. Lucy. That's who she needed to focus on right now. Pulling her smile back up, she turned to the other girl. "Yes, exactly that. They should have some on the othe
  2. Mim had the perfect idea to help Lucy's problem. Putting her leg back down, she gestured over to the other side of the story. "If you're just looking for something to cover up between here and the beach, why not grab a towel? You can drape it over your shoulders until we get to the beach and then use it to sit on instead of the sand! From what I've heard and read about the beach, that's what a lot of people do."
  3. Mim let the boys enjoy the surprise of Lucy, though they seemed to be fighting between the two of them over something. She let her eyes wander and spotted two cute anklets with ruffled cloth and some fake pearls. She picked them up, along with a cute wrapped bracelet. They would complete her outfit perfectly. And then... There, perfect. All of a sudden, a pair of amethyst swim trunks flew over Lucy's head and smacked Bladur in the face. "Good outfit choice, but you're gonna need those in case you decide to remove the stick from your butt and join the rest of us in
  4. Mim reached out and gave Lucy's shoulder a light squeeze. "If you keep this up, you're going to need a new codename. Though I think we should get you one anyways. Something cute to match you." With that, she darted off to find the boys. She quickly spotted them, and waved them over. "Come on you two. Time to go tell Lucy how great she looks. And you better be nice, or else."
  5. Too tight? Had she picked the wrong size? Well it seemed like at least one fit so they could work off of that at least. When she came out of the changing room, Mim couldn't help the gasp that escaped. "Oh Lucy! You look so beautiful! You're going to have those boys with their jaws on the floor for sure. As for showing too much skin, you absolutely aren't, but if you aren't comfortable, we can either get you a new one or we can get you a wrap or shawl sort of like my vest to help cover a bit more. But you really do look great. Do you want me to go grab the boys? I bet Baldur c
  6. "Oh don't worry! There are changing rooms right over there. You can go in and lock the door so no one can come in unless you let them. It's all very safe."
  7. Meanwhile, the girls were busy looking through options. Mim had at least five pieces draped over her arm. A couple single piece outfits of varying styles, as well as two two piece outfits. She had her hopes pinned on one, but she wanted Lucy to be the one who chose. "Ok! This is probably a good place to start, you think? Any of these options drawing your eye? I do think you should try on a couple before you make a decision. And then once you find the one you like the most we can grab the guys?"
  8. Mim excitedly grabbed Lucy's hand. "Come on Lucy! Let's go find you a great suit. Crimson, Baldur, you two go find your own outfits. When we need you to come tell Lucy how great she looks, I'll find you."
  9. "Mmm, no, sorry, you aren't getting away that easily. Sorry Baldur, but you're stuck with us. Leader's orders, we're all coming along and that means you need a swimsuit. Even if I have to drag you along myself."
  10. Mim had been planning on explaining swimming more, but Baldur had that covered and she also had way more important things to rant about now. That brother... "That... Ugh! I can't believe him. Sure, he's worried about what a boy might do, so he punishes his sister. Of course he couldn't just talk to the other guy about it. Nooo, he had to force you to cover up so that his precious partner wouldn't be tempted. Even though from what you've said, Famine views you more like a little sister than anything. No, it's wrong for a girl to show any skin because what about the boys? Can't
  11. Mim paused for a second before letting go of Crimson's hand and walking over to Lucy, throwing an arm around her shoulder. "Oh, hun... Yes, it's an outfit to wear to the beach, or if you're going to go swimming. It's made of material made to handle water without getting extra heavy, so that you can swim without issue. It also won't pull away or bunch up in the same way that normal clothes would. Plus a lot of them are super cute. Like mine! We'll get you something that looks great, while still letting you be comfortable, so that you can have the best time possible. Right Baldu
  12. Mim was about to say something in retort to the man ignoring her comments when she spotted Lucy out of the corner of her eye. A mischievous grin snuck onto her face and she called out, "Oh! Lucy! Perfect timing~ Come on over here. We were just talking about our group heading to the beach and how wonderful it would be to have you along. I was thinking you probably don't have a swimsuit after everything you've been through, so what I was thinking was that you, me, Crimson, and Baldur could all go shopping for outfits together, since neither of the boys have a swimsuit either. Wo
  13. "Nu-uh. It's nice to have boys along to tell you if things look good! Like how I asked Crimson. Right Crimson? And you're not her chaperon. You're her friend! You would get to tell her how cute she is. Cause you do think she's cute, right? So you could help boost her confidence! I'll ask her if she wants you along though, that's easy enough~ You're still coming to the beach either way though. You need to relax. Even if you just lay out on a chair in the sun all day, you're coming along."
  14. "Well... She clearly feels safe around you. If you hadn't noticed. I think you talking with her and being nice to her really helped her feel like she could be ok here. I mean, obviously I already welcomed her, but having someone else... especially someone that is so strongly against the Icons of Sin treat her like a person, I think that helped. A lot. She's so nervous all the time, I think having someone she's comfortable with along would help a lot! Especially since shopping for a swimsuit can be embarrassing sometimes. Or was I wrong? Do you not want to help make her more comfortable around
  15. "Good, I'm glad, Crimson. You have to enjoy the time off too." She gave his hand a quick squeeze and a bright smile before turning on Baldur. "Oh, don't worry. I don't need permission. You're coming either way. Though... I do think that Lucy will probably need to get a swimsuit too... And I bet she'd feel a lot more comfortable with you coming along. You wouldn't want to disappoint her, right? You can help her enjoy the day at the beach. Don't you think she needs some time off too?"
  16. Mim brightened visibly and grabbed onto Crimson's hand. "Really? I'm glad. That makes me really happy to hear. So that means you'll come shopping with me when we get to the beach, right? To get you a swimsuit? And to get Baldur one apparently?" She didn't phrase it like it was an option. Baldur was coming with them, whether he liked it or not. He may not realize it quite yet, but he was going to come and he was going to have a good time, dammit.
  17. Mim frowned. Why was Crimson looking away? And Baldur was telling her to put on more clothes... Harrumph! She walked over to Baldur and poked him in the chest, hard. "Don't you start that. I will wear what I want to wear. This is comfortable and cute! We'll get to the beach and I'll be ready to go. I'm going to be happy if I want to, and you have no right to tell me to do otherwise. And you can stuff your protests. You don't have a choice! I will drag you to the beach myself if I have to, got it mister?" She then hesitated and turned to Crimson, a small, worried sm
  18. Mim couldn't help the smile the burst onto her face at the order. The beach? She had always dreamed of seeing one. In fact, at one point along the way she had actually purchased an outfit for the beach, not that she had ever expected to get to use it with this group. She quickly darted upstairs, shedding her heavy coat. This was going to be so nice. A day of just relaxing, not worrying about anything else... She bounced down the stairs a few minutes later in an outfit completely different from her normal one. Shorts covered the bottom of her swimsuit, but the top half was a bright
  19. Mim brightened visibly as the conversation went on, and when Sid said he'd do it, she grabbed his hand and flashed him an extra special smile. "Thank you Sid! I'll be counting on you. I know you'll do an amazing job at it. I look forward to being the first one to get a piece of your work."
  20. Mim had chosen not to join the others on their adventure. She couldn't quite put a finger on why. Maybe it was because she was happy to see Lucy being willing to do things with people who weren't her. Maybe it was because she still wasn't quite ready to risk another... incident. Either way, she had put the time at home to good use. She stood up, shaking out her newly repaired jacket. A smile graced her face as she slid the jacket back on. Perfect. One thing left to handle then. Heading downstairs, she quickly found Simeon with a grumpy looking Sid in tow. She smiled up at the two m
  21. "Hmmph! Well good then, I'm glad you understand. Now. Lets go make dinner. I'm thinking pancakes. What about you?"
  22. Mim frowned, getting more and more irritated as Baldur continued talking and then finally reached out and (lightly) smacked Baldur upside the head. "Oh so what, now we're all helpless and need you to constantly be protecting us? Perhaps you'll change our diapers next and give us our bottles? We're a team, you idiot. Listen to yourself. You're acting like you're the only one who could possibly have seen what was going on. Am I blind? That would be a feat, a blind archer. Or perhaps you're the only one who's allowed to be strong? Or did you fail to notice that I couldn't free my
  23. "Do you really think that's the only thing you're here for? You're also here to be a member of the group. To help cook, to help support others outside of battle too. You're here to be you. Why would you be unworthy of forgiveness? Even besides the fact that there is nothing to forgive, you haven't failed. We are fighting against someone that out scales us. We learned that. No one else was prepared for him either. Why are you the only one that needs to be prepared for every possible situation?"
  24. Mim stared at him blankly for a few long seconds, trying to make sure she understood what he was trying to say, before letting a loud quick laugh burst out before she managed to stifle it. "Ha, ah, sorry, you're serious, aren't you?" She reached out, placing her fingers beneath his chin and raising it up so their eyes met. "I never once blamed you for what happened. If anything, you being captured with me is the reason I'm still alive. He couldn't focus on both of us enough to actually do lasting damage. You really believe that I wouldn't have been just
