Kerr chuckled. "You know, you're not the first person that's thought I had one of those. I suppose I can see why. After all a less foolish man might have stopped talking to you far sooner than now. However, giving up too easily is a way to lose out on a lot. So why give up even if it risks something? You never know how things will turn out until you try. I can't say I ever expected to end up here growing up. And yet here we are."

"Hmm... Probably some truth to that. I never really know when to quit... Well, I suppose I could just leave you to your work. If that's what you would prefer. Sitting here alone with your armor."

Kerr chuckled and gave a shrug. "Eh, if you want me to leave, I'll leave. But I've had a lot worse than a punch. And like I said, you're interesting and going to be my companion. Better to get to know you a bit now than when we're fighting for our lives, no? Plus it's fun to talk to you. I never know what's going to happen next!"

"Your reasoning for fighting the way you do isn't overly interesting. The fact that not many people fight the way you do is what makes it interesting. And there's plenty more about you that's interesting. Where you're from, what you like, what you dislike, all of that. You're a person, not just a warrior after all."

Kerr raised an eyebrow as he was punched, rubbing the spot with a mock indignant look on his face. "Fair enough. I suppose I will refrain from that truth if you object to it so strongly. However, the rest still stands. I want to get to know more about you. Especially if we're going to be working as a squad for a while, it can't hurt. And you didn't deny the fact that you're interesting, so lets go with that."

"Didn't say what you were doing was intriguing. That's just armor care. If I wanted to see that, I would do it myself. That way at least I know I'll have good conversation, you know? No, I said you're intriguing. You're a bit of a mystery after all. Heavily armored, but using a bow. Won't say where you're from. Cute, but liable to bite someone's head off if they try and chat it seems... You're different. And that's interesting. Is that so wrong?"

"Need is such a strong word... And you're asking so generally! I need lots of things. This apple, for instance, I need because I need food. That being said, I could substitute it with something else fairly easily and still have the same end result. I need the air I'm breathing. Though I suppose if I end up getting a fist to the throat it will be somewhat harder to get that air..." He paused as if seriously considering this for a second before giving a shrug and continuing. "But to answer what you were really asking, no I don't need anything from you. I was simply curious as to why one would isolate themselves from the rest of their group, especially right after a successful battle. Even if that battle was a mock one. It's not the best way to make friends. Though I suppose you're not really here to make friends, are you? I guess the real reason I'm here is you intrigue me." With that, he sat down next to her, taking a large bite out of his apple as he did.

Spear resting against his shoulder, tossing an apple up and down with the other hand, Kerr strolled up behind Rhian, peering over her shoulder. Interesting. "Hmm, don't they usually make sure everything fits before they send someone off into battle? Or did you rush off before they could do it all? Only other option I can think of is that the armor is for someone else and either given or stolen... But surely you wouldn't steal something. So it must be a gift or just poorly handled by the armor maker. So, which is it?"

"Huh... Interesting. She didn't seem to expect help but I suppose if it was some sort of secret she wouldn't have... Still. Good to know. She was quick on her feet and got the group of us working together, so perhaps there's something there after all. I suppose my sticking around with everyone here might end up more useful than I'd first imagined."

Brad found himself moving away from the group that he had originally been a part of, mostly because he had no real connection to them. However, finding himself in the palace, a place he never truly intended to be, he found himself with some interesting opportunities ahead. But first, information would need to be gathered. Making his way over to the woman in bright blue armor, he extended a hand. "I don't think we've met. My name is Bradwr. Tell me, what was the original mission of your group? It was interesting timing when you showed up after all. I don't think it could have been better, honestly."

"You got it boss. Mmm, maybe this will knock some muscle memory back into me. I used to be pretty good against horse riders. Been a while and this lance isn't exactly the best for it... Ah well, I'll figure it out."

Kerr gave a small shrug. "Eh, it's working so far. Just remember what you told us at the start, right? We're here to make sure we're a good team, not individually competent. Probably applies to you too, at least I would figure so. Since you're our commander and all, you need to be able to direct us but also work with us. Be the embodiment of the Sovereign Rune if you buy into that sort of thing." He smirked slightly, clearly telling himself a small joke somewhere in there.

P-11, vuln the big boss "Here boss, can't have you getting chased off the field too early. Catch!" His words were followed by a bag of medicine flying at Johanna's face, clearly intended to be used right then.

As soon as their weapons clashed, Kerr was drawn back into the rush of battle. No matter how fake it was, he was fighting for glory. To prove himself. Jabbing out with his spear, a silver light shone at the tip and then streamed back towards the middle of the shaft, forming a brilliant halo around it. "Haahh!" The halo solidified into a shield of magic that deflected the blade the mercenary was holding, knocking it back into his shoulder as Kerr's lance dove in right behind it. Tch. Wasn't supposed to be quite that flashy. Also not supposed to be using that, but can't just discard all my tools. Hopefully not too many people noticed.
