Mira "Marvelous, and you decide to tell me that now-" Mira began, barely turning her head to look at Lyra before the latter seemed to pop out of vision... And be replaced by a giant, bearlike monstrosity, the exact one they were looking for. Mira barely had enough time to let out a curse before she fully turned around, placing both hands on her sword as she charged forward. While her strike was akin to that of a stab, it was more close to a tackle that had a sword added onto it, as she first jammed her sword into Trick's side, before using her own momentum to push it further in. Not wasting a second to spare a word though, Mira then flipped her grip around, before attempting to yank the sword back out. And as she went into battle, the helmet taken from Judge activates, scanning what could loosely be defined as an "old ally" for its new master. Mira attacks Trick with Black Heart, dealing 6d8+11 damage, gaining a second charge on Black Heart to give her +1 Synergy, but -1 DR. She also uses the Helmet of Judge to cast Libra, showing her Trick’s HP and potential blurb of detail. Loadout

"Oh, nice. Yeah, I'll go get Mary. See you in a bit Hibiscus" Anna replied, rather proud that she actually did remember where the stables were before splitting off from the other woman to get her mount. Thankfully, she managed to find her rather quickly. Unfortunately, her pegasus did not seem to be in the best of mood, merely giving Anna an unimpressed stare as she approached, unlocking the gate to let herself in, "Hey Mary, looks like we're being able to do a bit more flying right now. Isn't that exciting?" she asked, causing Mary to simply let out a huff in response, turning her head away like a spoiled princess. "Okay look, I know you don't like flying around cities, or standing in one to start with, but this is part of our job Mary. It won't take long, and afterwards I'll get you some treats, best ones I can get my hands on. How does that sound?" Anna continued, picking up Mary's saddle... Only to see that Mary was still turned away from her, not budging an inch, which caused Anna herself to sigh in response, "Fine, I'm sorry for locking you up in a stable. But I'm going to have to do so again. Now can you please stop being so stubborn and acknowledge me, so I can get this job done for the both of us?" Anna, mostly sarcastically, responded, which apparently was good enough for the pegasus, who let out another huff and stomp of her feet before letting Anna approach and put her saddle back on, and all the other necessities for which to let Anna properly ride her. Surprisingly not as problematic as Mary normally was, which was a blessing for Anna. Maybe she could get out and be the one to wait for Hibiscus, rather than it being the other way around.

[IC] TTG Chapter 6: Envy
GodofGamingRWBY replied to Shamitako's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Valkyrie Valkyrie, for what its worth, was forced to hide behind her shield at Finale's explosion, taking the brunt of the shell before realizing what happened. Finale had used the momentum from the explosion to launch herself back, and away from her. There wasn't time to waste now. Finale had managed to redo the distance Grima had tried so hard to cross, and this time, she didn't have much to protect herself from a full onslaught, AND Finale would likely be prepared to do something to counter her earlier mine maneuver. She had to get back in before Finale tore her to shreds, which meant she had to get as close as she could before she could be locked down. Easier said than done. So, using the cover of the dust, fog, and debris, Valkyrie advanced, moving in a slightly diagonal path towards where she presumed Finale had gone to. She wasn't stupid enough for a head on assault at this point, and Finale wold probably be covering said option. Or maybe she wasn't, and Valkyrie was just wasting time, but she had to take the chance. -
Freya ... Freya had a lot of questions. Way too many to ask, especially since her wonder of the place she was in was cut short by the 'Necromaster's' appearance, along with 'Spider-Man'. Weird names, but regardless, there he was, the wizard they were looking for. So, what else was there to do but push against the fleeing people in order to get to where the two were, and where the rest of the group were going. "Wait, hold on" Freya quickly called out to Aquila, running in front of knight, specifically to get between of the Necromaster and Spider-Man, "Excuse me, hello, can we settle down for a minute here and not try to kill each other?" she asked, mostly trying to get to a point where she could at least talk to the Necromaster herself. Still a rather stupid title, but hers was generally just 'Heretic' or 'Demon', so she couldn't complain. As she did that, she quickly snapped her fingers, a portal opening quite a bit away, preferably out of sight of the Necromaster, dropping in her old friend, Dyno, stealthily moving around the Necromaster in preparation. Freya couldn't be sure that the Necromaster was a good guy, the man behind her told her that he could likely be violent, so it was good to have a shot at taking him out without actually killing him. But she hoped she could resolve this peacefully, one Necromancer to another.

Lambda Despite having one hand stretched out to give Marisa her hat back, Lambda managed to lower herself to the ground to grab Chen as the latter was dropped, the hand that was holding the hat barely even budging as she did so. Once the exchanged had been made though, Lambda floated back up into a "standing" position, placing Chen on the ground, still rather gently for a machine with giant claws. With a small pat on the shikigami's head, Lambda quickly went to turn in Isobel's bag, before returning to her Master, who was busy assisting Marisa with the seal. Walmond Walmond, on the other hand, was forced to work with the more... Chaotic witch. There wasn't much to say about the sealing process itself, since Marisa knew what she was doing, and so did Walmond, and while the scientist would normally be dissatisfied with how Marisa worked with her magic, it clearly seemed to work well. So, it was simply a different method, not one he'd normally do, but a method nonetheless. Needless to say, they did fine, leaving a now sealed stone in Walmond's hand, which vanished underneath her cloak. At that point, Walmond had opened her mouth to speak, before being interrupted by Chen, who had begun to repeat the theory she had started before. While they had already done the job, Walmond found her attention quickly slipping and refocusing on Chen. ... She was probably going to be a while.
-
Lambda. With a completely blank expression, Lambda continued to float forward, gently taking the bag from Masako, or just swiping it away if it was still held on tightly. She'd turn in the bag later, but for now, Lambda merely moved away from Masako and Rory, pulling out the hat, and the stone itself, placing it in the hand of Walmond once she was finished healing Marisa, and holding Marisa's hat out for the witch to retake. For her, it just felt right to give it back.
-
Walmond While for most, the instructions Chen was hard to decipher and made almost no sense, Walmond was actually able to get a good portion of it down. Some parts flew above her head, but for the most part, she could nod in response. At least, until Marisa interrupted, offering a much simpler solution to the problem, which inadvertently caused Walmond to sigh, "I can handle the seal, and your wounds. Masako, can you hand the artifact to Lambda while I tend to the girl?" Walmond asked, gesturing to her robot companion, who immediately floated away from Chen, having found the source of her worry being completely misaimed, and towards the Tengu, "Chen, can you repeat the instructions for me? I was able to understand most of it, and can fill the gaps if I need to." After that, Walmond would approach Marisa, lifting her hand out of the cover of her cloak, revealing green magic swirling around her glove. Walmond shall attempt to use a focused Healing Field spell on Marisa, if only to help "nurse her bruises".
-
"Yeah, it is, though I think we'll have to make due with covering the world in flyers for now" Anna replied, "speaking of which, I think the stables are right around this corner. Maybe, I'm... Not the best with directions" she added, the final part barely coming out as a mumble. Anna would have to think about Hibiscus's offer more when she had free time, sine she was on the clock, as it were.
-
Walmond Taking a quick second to brush herself off, Walmond turned and walked up to where the rest of the group was. Specifically, around the magician that was just trying to kill them barely a minute prior. For a second, he was a bit confused as to the conversation they were having... Until he connected the 'relic' Marisa had held and her hat. Specifically, that the hat was being used as a bag. ... Not the best sort of containment, but unfortunately, he lacked the necessary tools to fashion one himself. That, and he wasn't sure handling it himself was the best idea, considering how it appeared to effect Marisa. Lambda, on the other hand, had worriedly watched Walmond walk off, before floating off behind him. At least until a quick glance, originally made to make sure everything was still safe, caused her to notice Chen staring off into the distance at... Nothing, even when Lambda followed her gaze. However, taking a look at Chen's ears, Lambda could tell that there was something off, if she hadn't gotten the feeling from the stare. So, as with any scenario, Lambda quickly moved behind Walmond, her back facing her master's, eyes scanning the trees in case anything burst out and attacked.

Ako "Right. As I said before, Susano is should still be at Kamiki. We'd have to go through Taka Pass in order to get there, which is close to the Sparrow Inn, and of course there's the Moon Cave as well, if you want to check it out for yourselves" Ako replied, trying to gloss over the first part of what Mitsurugi had said, about her changing based on how people viewed her. The concept of which wasn't unknown to her, she was a Shrine Maiden after all, but considering she had never actually heard of of a Kami like Mitsurugi... Well, it didn't bode well. Granted, she said she was from another world, so things may be different. It was all a bit confusing still, but that was the nature of the divine, above what mortals could fully comprehend. "I have everything I need for the journey though, all I really need to do is put up a bit of an illusion to keep people from realizing that the shrine is a bit... Not all that up to shape" she continued, pulling out a brush and, after dipping it in one of her ink pots, which seemed to seep into said brush far too quickly, made several strokes in the air. As with most of the divine actions in this world, a flurry of wind and sakura petals flowed into the area, focusing around the broken shrine and bell. For the bell, the broken fragments were covered in black ink, floating into the air and swiftly converging back into where the bell had stood strong before the Gashadokuro attacked. After a second, the ink dissipated, leaving behing the ancient bell, standing as if nothing had happened. As for the shrine, it was far less spectacular. Namely, the burned wood fragments merely faded away, with the rest of the shrine just... Appearing, good as new. However, as the wind began to die down, it made sure to close the shrine wall's gates, barring entry from the "good as new" shrine. "And there. That should keep me covered for a few days."

As soon as the words "Expensive stalls" left Hibiscus' lips, Camellia's face seemed to freeze. Was she not putting enough effort in giving Mary a comfortable spot to rest? Did more expensive stalls even mean that they were more comfortable? Probably, but Camellia realized that she never actually thought of that. Maybe it was because Mary never seemed to care where she was being put, she just never liked closed spaces, but if she had started with better conditions, then maybe she wouldn't be as rebellious. Thankfully she didn't have to keep on that train of thought for long, due to Hibiscus' follow up statement, the suddenness of it causing Camellia to turn and blink in surprise, "Wha- Really? I honestly didn't think flowers suited me. Mary might like one though, but... Thank you for the compliment" Before falling silent again. Mostly because, as much as she didn't want to admit, wearing a flower in her hair might actually be pretty nice. A strange form of nice, but nice nonetheless. "... Maybe a violet would be nice, actually..." she muttered after a bit of thought, before opening her eyes again, "Regardless, I don't think a Camellia flower would really fit me, since it would sort of blend in with my hair, unlike you, Hibiscus."
-
"Yeah, she just doesn't like being cooped up in a small space, such as a stable. But she also doesn't enjoy cities, so I didn't have much of a choice but to put her in. I think there might be some treats at the stables though, I can grab some from there, or... Wherever" Anna replied, marking a mental note to buy a small bag to carry stuff around in, like treats for Mary, "I think she'd enjoy being able to fly a bit more though. Hopefully she hasn't been annoying Gwyn much. You didn't put Gwyn next to Mary, did you? I didn't actually see."
-
Thankfully, Anna had been holding the stack of flyers with one hand, and under her arm at that, so while she was surprised when Hibiscus grabbed her hand and pulled her away from the group, she was able to keep herself from dropping any flyers. Her surprise mostly came from the fact that she wasn't entirely used to Hibiscus being... Energetic at all, but when she heard the woman's plan, Camellia understood why. "Well... Hm..." Anna began, trailing off as she thought about the plan. It was all good, after all, Carnation had said they needed to give them out and/or put them up, and Camellia could always drop most of her flyers from the sky and then put a few up on the ground, but the one problem was the fact that she had to fly to begin with. Which meant getting Mary out of the Stables, which she had struggled to put in there in the first place. Anna could already see Mary's smug look when she came back in to get her. But, at the same time, being able to let out some steam and fly might help Mary relax, so it'll be easier to put her back in to the stables afterwards. Maybe, probably not, but maybe. "Sure, we can do that. Carnation did say that we only needed to hand the flyers out" Camellia finally replied, straightening the flyers that were still under her arm as she turned and began heading in the general direction of the stables, presumably with Hibiscus walking with.
-
While Camellia had almost walked off on her own, something made her stop and turn around. Mostly, the fact that most of the crew had chosen to go into groups. Or rather, one large group consisting of Satomi, Kyou, Beverly, Ke, and... That one weird guy, Janus she thought his name was? Yeah, Janus. Or was it Kanus? Regardless, they were all going together, and while she would be fine with heading off on her own, the idea of being part of a small group in a large city still was more appealing. Thankfully, there was one person who seemed open for someone to join them. "Hey Hibiscus, I can come along with you. It's nice to have someone else to walk around with, right?" Anna greeted as she approached, rather quickly despite having almost been gone.
-
"... What just..." Anna whispered, lost as to what the chain of events just were. She was used to Chance's... Oddness, thanks to the fact that she had been working with Carnation for quite a while, but this was a bit more than natural. Was she coming down with an illness? Did she hit her head on the way down? Was she actually tired? Or was she just forcing the entire act to get out of work? Camellia honestly had no idea, but it was clear that she would have to pull double duty for Chance. It sucked that the group seemed rather hostile with each other, but that was just how new groups tended to go. Hopefully it would iron itself out later on. Or it wouldn't, and then things would just get worse. "I'll just... Get going then" she stated, picking up what should've been Chance's share of the posters, and one of the stones for good measure, before heading out. She had to figure out good places for these things, and the world wasn't just going to wait for her to watch how things played out. She had a job to do, even if it was simple and boring!
-
Earlier For Anna, Camellia, not Carnation, the day had started differently from her sister’s. Instead of selecting an area to set up shop and simple things like that, Anna had to deal with a far more physical and harsh task. One that proved time and time again to be far more trouble than it was actually worth. Specifically, putting Mary, her pegasus, in a stable. “Look, Mary, I don’t like it either, but I can’t have you following me around all day! You don’t even LIKE crowded cities, why would you even want to be out there?! You'd just get annoyed after five minutes and then cause a ruckus by probably kicking someone!” she shouted at Mary, desperately trying to ignore the odd looks she got from any passerby, only getting a frustrated neigh back as the pegasus reared back, trying to get her to let go of the reins. Thankfully, she had experience with Mary’s temper, especially when it came to her escaping, “No, you have to stay in here. I’ll come back later and give you like… A treat or something like that. Can you just behave for now so I can help my Sis. You like my sister, don’t you?” Anna asked, patting Mary’s neck. In response to her question, Mary let out an indignant snort, shaking her head. “You’re the worst. Just get in there.” Present As frustrating as her pegasus was to deal, Anna made sure that she didn't let it get to her personally. Mary was just high strung, after all. Regardless, she was in a rather bright mood despite everything. She rather enjoyed big cities, and she also enjoyed exploring. So, having the job of putting flyers around the city was something that allowed her to enjoy her work. It was a win-win for everyone involved. “Sounds good Sis. I think I can handle putting up a few flyers. I could probably pull double duty if we have extras” Anna replied, giving a rather energetic salute as she moved to pick up some of the flyers. While she wasn’t as good of a business woman as her older sister, she could still pull her own weight. … Well, she sort of had to, since she was being paid, but that wasn’t really the point.

Tomb Thankfully, the burst of flame was enough to vaporize the blood coming towards Brigitte, combined with her shield taking the rest of the splash, creating a visible area untouched by blood. Thankfully, nothing negative seemed to pop out of the now destroyed 'wall', except for the Tomb still rumbling from the shot. There was nothing to stop the group anymore, except a rather short corridor. Going through, it was rather obvious what path the group would've taken. Specifically, the left path, as the right had clearly collapsed a long time ago, the rubble piled straight to the ceiling. That, and on the left side, there was dozens of corpses lying about, some cleaved in half, others burned beyond recognition. Even the walls weren't safe, containing scorch marks across the surfaces, barely illuminated by the torches still placed along said walls. At the end, before the path turned, there was also another corpse, except it hung several feet off the ground, impaled into the wall by a silver sword. In addition to all this, the sounds of fighting could be heard echoing from the room ahead. A quick advancement and look would allow the group to find the other Devil Hunter that Markus had been taking about earlier. A brown haired girl in a far fancier monochrome outfit than what one would deem necessary for hunting demons, currently weaving out of the path of a large stone gargoyle's spear. At least, that's what the demon looked like, with its stone-like skin, long barbed tail, curled wings, and glowing red eyes. On top of that, several corpses, aside from the ones that looked as though they were hit by a train, were converging on the Devil Hunter as well, all while she merely brushed off her coat. She hadn't taken notice of the non-demon group yet, which could be seen as better, in some ways. Marked Door Again, DVS found the demon fairly easy to dodge and counter, knocking the zombie off of its feet and onto its back. While it let out a groan and didn't seem all that dazed, it was obvious that its general physique wasn't going to help it get itself off the ground anytime soon. Unfortunately, as he was doing that, another lifted up its spear, preparing to stab DVS in the side as he went on the offensive... Only to be interrupted by Izumi as the crazy teacher stabbed it in the side, causing it to stumble and almost drop its spear. But, with a sidelong glare, the Bloodcursed merely grabbed Izumi's sword, letting out a small growl as it attempted to stab Izumi back. The other demons approaching, before they could attempt to strike at DVS or Izumi, instead were blown back when an arrow struck one of them in the face, before blowing up with an impressive explosion, scattering the four Bloodcursed. However, while some landed on their backs, two in particular landed on their bellies, and were already forcing themselves up, switching their attention to the archer that just shot them. As for Kali, one demon in particular seemed to be done with walking, as it lifted an axe above its head, before charging the rockstar with a burst of speed.

Valkyrie As soon as Grima was thrown aside towards the other minefield, she put both of her hands on her shield, turning the shield's handle 90 degrees just before she made contact with the mines. Almost immediately, the shield began to glow with an even brighter white light, a large wall erupting into existence using the shield as its origin point. Of course, it only began on the ground, but it still managed to move all around Grima, creating a dome of protection right before the minefield registered her presence, and as they do, exploded. The shield itself held fast, not even a ripple appearing on its surface when the mortars struck, nor when the landing caused it to skid further into the minefield, setting off even more mines. But that sort of defense only worked for so long with a mobile power source, the force field only taking the first force of all the explosions before flickering off, and the handle on Grima's shield automatically resetting to the normal position. Though, once it did, Grima stepped off of it, lifting the hunk of metal back off of the ground as began running towards Finale, inherently slow thanks to her armor, yet considering she was closer to Finale than before, she had a reason to spend more energy by doing so. Granted, the landing had skidded quite a bit, which made her further than she would've liked, but that was besides the point. Defense bonus used -

Valkyrie Again, in response to the volley of mortar fire, Grima stopped in her tracks, this time having a better head start in preparation, lifting her shield above her head right before the first strike hit. With the first volley, Grima managed to lock herself in place, barely budging from the explosions. Then a second hit... Then a third... Then a fourth, and after the third, it was clear that Grima herself wouldn't be able to hold up for as long as she hoped against the repeated strikes, unlike her shield, which was still remarkably scratch less. Already, she was almost forced to her knees. Suddenly, time slowed down drastically, the only thing Grima could hear being her own heartbeat in her ear, spaced out, as expected. Each beat ticked her ability to think down, and she desperately needed that time to come up with a way to get herself out of this situation. Two seconds. Right now, she was almost literally stuck between a rock and a hard place. She saw what Finale's plan was now, to limit her mobility and force her to approach in one specific way, and to make sure that one path was destroyed as completely as possible while she was still in it, before she could get anywhere near. While Grima still had energy to move, she'd be torn to pieces before she could enough headway to get into a melee fight fast enough. And at this rate, if she got forced to her knees again, she wouldn't have much of a chance to get back up. "Are you here fighting for the gods because you think they're right, or because they didn't give you a choice?" Three seconds ... She didn't have a choice. This was what she agreed to do, because she was a criminal. She was offered pardon if everything succeeded, and that's part of the reason why she fought. Not because she thought the gods were right, but simply because she had a chance to correct her wrongdoings. "If your resolve is that weak, I'd suggest you turn around and leave right now." Four seconds Sparing a quick glance, Grima sized up the mines floating nearby. They were made to limit her movement, but she had no idea how powerful they actually were. They could be just for show, or could have an immense punch behind them. She might have to take the risk in order to gain some mobility, but if they were harmful, she would simply lose this battle even harder than before. Unless she used them for something else... "It's been a few years, but you used to be a pretty good fighter in the arena, didn't you? How would you like to earn your freedom with those skills?" Five seconds ... Fuck it. Just as the normal flow of time resumed and the next volley hit, Grima let out a burst of speed, pushing herself off of the ground as she stepped towards one of the floating mines, using her momentum to strike at one of the mortars coming straight for her, the two metals causing the mortar to explode practically in Grima's face. But, instead of falling back, the pilot of Valkyrie pushed forward, continuing her movement to jump up, placing her shield beneath her feat and in front of the mine. And then said mine exploded, launching Grima forward, her shield withstanding the actual damage of the explosion, leaving Grima to twist herself in midair again in order to position her shield in front of herself, all while making sure to steer herself towards her target. Finale. -

Valkyrie Yeah. This was quite clearly a trap, and one that Grima just let become more prepared for. Brilliant work, as always. Suppressing her sigh, Grima advanced, lowering herself to the ground, as well as picking up her pace. She just had to keep moving forward and take Finale's attacks head on, otherwise she'd get nowhere. -

Valkyrie When it seemed like Artemis wasn't going to launch another mortar strike, Grima lowered her shield, rolling her shoulder after the explosions before advancing once more, this time making sure to keep at least one eye on the outside of her shield so she could see what Artemis would do... Which seemed to be launching several floating discs. They didn't seem harmful, yet, but that probably wouldn't be the case. She fired them out for a reason, and she'd have to be careful, or else she would be in extreme trouble. With that, Grima chose to mix her approach up this time... Specifically by not heading straight for Artermis, but beginning to move around, seeing if the disks would reposition themselves or not. She still had to get in closer, that was obvious, but she'd get nowhere by being reckless. -
Lamba As soon as the punch from Rory connected to the mage, Lambda immediately retracted her shields, holding the now fried and fairly close to passing out Walmond tighter as she floated down to the ground. If she could talk, she would've asked if he/she was alright, but for now, she just had to be content with protecting them until they could heal themselves. ... Actually, wait, there was someone who could help. Brushing off a bit of poppy leaves off of her face, an impressive feat given the fact that her hands had rather large claws on them, Lambda spun around, quickly locating Isobel and floating as fast as she could. Shortly after she got close, she rather abruptly lifted Walmond up, trying to convey that they needed some assistance from the fellow healer. Walmond There wasn't much Walmond could think about rather than pain on the entire side of her body, a result from a laser slipping through Lambda's defenses and scorching her with full force. Even if she could focus on patching herself up, it wouldn't be as effective right now, considering she was exhausted after her multiple large scale spells in a row. She'd have to figure out how to lower the energy usage from that spell, because god damn if she had to use it anymore she might just go into a coma. Thankfully, she was still able to register when Lambda tried to hand her off to Isobel, letting out a small groan as she shifted into a sitting position, "Lambda, calm down. There's no need to worry, these wounds are superficial" she stated, before pushing herself off of Lambda so she could finally stand on her own, a first since they had arrived. It was at this point that it was clear that some of her clothing was oversized for her now, mostly since her cloak happened to be bundled up on the ground. That was a... Bit of a problem.

Mira Without even breaking her stride, nor looking behind her, Mira continued to walk as she responded to the two other women, "I'm perfectly capable of handling myself. Trick relies more on numbers, that should be obvious, and I believe the one flaw with the plan, as Iowa put it, was that Trick would still be able to move and be a nuisance. I'm the most suited to keep it from doing so while the rest deal with their backup. And the more we wait, the more time we waste" Mira explained, her tone eerily calm before suddenly stopping and spinning to both Lyra and Perlita, a bit of annoyance creeping into her voice "So yes, you could say it's a lone wolf complex, because I've been perfectly fine working on my own. If the universe deems me fit to work with a team, I'm fine, but unlike you, I have the experience to do things on me own. "So you can do what you feel is necessary to help. If that includes tagging along to kill that monster, then fine, more power to you. But I'm going to do what I need to do, since it's a better use of my skills than the alternative" the Dark Knight finished, turning back without another word to continue her way into the park.
