ditch lancelot for shade's fight and use croagunk (sucker punch ftw)

it sounds like you'd really enjoy pokemon super eevee edition. the battle system is waaay more traditional rpg, so it might take some getting used to. but essentially you start with an eevee that can switch between eeveelutions (you start with flareon, jolteon, and vaporeon then unlock more later) and basically have to save the world from its creators that are trying to update it to gen 3. everything's in gen 2 graphics, there are no HMs, and the story is hilarious. 10/10 would recommend lol

3) try blowing away the misty terrain, then just spam Nature Power (which turns into secret sword, which is THEN converted to steel type and given a power bonus). moves like cut and slash also helped a ton. and please, for your own sanity, bring a ground type for that unholy mawile. that, or change the field. fairytale field makes it immune to fire attacks, which makes it one of the more serious threats of Adrienn's team.

Samson gave me absolute hell on the first playthrough, so during my grass monotype I had basically no hope at all lol I ended up sweeping his entire team with a Lilligant, even the ones that resisted grass fell after the two quiver dances I'd set up

Tbh I mostly agree with this line of thinking. It seems like Anna's sight specifically correlates with souls (e.g. her seeing burn scars on Charlotte but not mentioning them on Laura or Saphira; while the fire impacted all three of them, it seemed to scar her the most, if we attribute it to souls we can also attribute it to Cain, seeing as eyes are the "window to the soul" and she sees his as all black. this might be a bit of a reach though lol) so her not seeing Lin implies that whatever happens, that Lin might not have a soul And if I remember right, Shade's prophecy didn't say the people would die, just that they would be "taken". And with the soul thing in mind, pluuuus the fact that Shade basically took Corey after he died, leads to the fact that Lin can't be taken because there's nothing to take lol. but the Lin in the scene COULD be the real Lin, and it's just that her soul was never taken because it merged with Arceus or she sold/destroyed it or something haha Also something doesn't really sit right with me >_< the prophecy thing's last line is "for, forsooth, from foreshadowed, only two will be taken". Corey's death wasn't foreshadowed; it already happened when we got to Shade's gym. That leaves three choices: Kiki, Amaria, and Lin. We already know Amaria isn't taken, so whatever happens with Lin, I have a feeling the explosion thingy marks her losing her soul for good. Or something. Not to mention the "will" in his prophecy...if it had been Kiki and Corey, what's with the future tense? It sorta implies that somebody's soul *hasn't* been taken yet, but will be.

castform for me, the minute I set up a rainbow field, this little fiend could sweep through most of the early to mid game leaders' teams. even late game, but not as much as before lol

it's possible that he had previous ties with meteor, as el's animosity towards him went a little beyond 'my daughter ran away to you' imo. he also had that grunt costume, which is kinda suspicious. this would actually play into a 'he abandoned them' theory, bc at some point after his wife died he might've realized how badly he screwed up, gave the amethyst pendant to anna so meteor wouldn't find it, and sent them somewhere to be 'safe'. he might not be contacting them in order to protect them, so meteor doesn't target them and find out about the pendant. as for the champion, I wouldn't be surprised if ame pulls an alola, and have there be no actual champion. instead, after the e4 your first job would be to fight lyn and defeat meteor once and for all or something as champion lol. it would make for a good 'your predecessor lost, so what makes you think you could win' speech from lin. and honestly anna sounds like an e4 member to me, they might just have the legendary edge in this game (e.g. el and dittoceus)

a tiny house in a small, close knit town would be ideal for me. especially if everything was in walking distance

yeah, you miiight want to drop one of those flying types (specifically noivern, that double weakness gives you little chance at getting in more than one hit). your fire moves are probably not working bc of the field effect snowy mountain, so try seeing if you can get rid of that by melting it with heat wave or something. once it's a regular mountain, the fire debuff is removed and rock types (which are super effective against ice btw) get a huge boost. your swampert and magcargo would rlly get their time to shine then. out of your flying types, emolga seems most useful; it can outspeed & get a type advantage over walrein, as well as nuzzling your enemies into paralysis. skuntank could probably get out a toxic on whatever emolga doesn't paralyze. the other two...idk. swoobat isn't too powerful, and noivern is...yeah. do you have a rotation you can get pokemon out of? you might want to grab a steel type if you can too. good luck! may the rng be in your favor next time you face that icehole.
