Facebook is really getting very toxic these days. I could deactivate my account, but then I would miss some uni announcements if I did deactivate.

Remember when it was mainly for college folk to stay connected and network and such?
Now you have bigots, trolls, psychopaths and terrorists posting killings, dead bodies, calls for genocide and just general degeneracy dragging the entire human race down.
I honestly feel like Facebook themselves let this happen and deserve a lot of blame because they didn't do enough to curve that behavior, since they were afraid of being accused of censorship and violating free speech or some nonsense. You don't set standards of behavior and diligently enforce them, you get exactly what's happened to Facebook/twitter/etc.
It's become a cancer.

Seriously, social networking sites shouldn't be afraid to take action on such behavior. They've become havens for people with ill minded personalities. The least they can do is to immediately block/ban the involved user or something. I can't even log in to Facebook without seeing degrading content or groups that attack a certain set of people.
