"I. . .thanks, Cell. It's fine." Was he interpreting this correctly? Did they have no source of light save these light stones? They were mechanical beings, but did they run off of some form of electricity or something else? There were a number of things to solve--At the encroaching darkness, Edmond gripped the candle more tightly, uncertain whether to shield and protect the flame, or let it display it's full brilliance. "Oh sh--Hello. Makuta? Nice to meet you." Edmond said offhandedly, before attempting to whisper to Halhi, "Have you ever heard of a magnet? Lodestone?"

"So it's a gang fanclub for Lexiel? Just tell them we're friends, right?" It might not be that simple, but Solomon couldn't go around asking for ideas if he didn't explain why it wasn't as simple as that, Liliya told herself. "If not, we could maybe pay them off, offer them some weird magic or tech that we have on hand. Bribes ain't the best long term, but we're not gonna be here long term. . . " The current goal seemed to be intimidation, but well. . . she'd just watch a bit to see how that went over.

"Speaking of light, do we get any of those things you have there? In case we get separated at any point?" The lights were rather faint, and it made Edmond wonder whether it was merely by way of energy conservation, or if they were incapable of producing any light brighter than the stones which Nuparu was carrying.

"In a way. If it's anything like my world, the term just means a fake computer world you willingly go into for. . . games and stuff. Ypu'd wear a mask or something with video to make it immersive." Liliya continued to walk, trying to keep it from looking as though she was paying too much attention to the occasional cop or gang member. Not too big a deal, since they seemed to not be interacting with eachother. Probably some kind of deals, which meant there wouldn't be too much worry if they didn't cause trouble. "Hey Solomon. The hell is NERP? Also do you have any cash."

"I should be able to scope out the tallest tree from the air, assuming someone didn't. . .decide to dig an 80 foot pit to plant their single tall tree in. I must ask though, will this Makuta know when we obtain any of the stones? Will he check the locations or anything? It'd be prudent to find first the stones which will give this being the least knowledge and warning of our presence and goals." "If there are no considerations to be made that way, I would be fine with either the Earth or Air stone as our first goal."

"Nothing like the good old city grime to make a place familiar. And yeah, Navin, can't say I've heard of the other two, but I've ain't ever been much of a geography nut." Liliya murmured her response, giving the place a look around. "We going out to the main street Solomon? How're they gonna take to our. . . diversity of appearances?"

They all acted so optimistic, confident. Edmond was feeling very little of that, but it seemed a poor time to voice that. If their task were made easier by the natives having confidence in them, he couldn't very well go mentioning 'oh, let's be careful not to attempt an assassination this time without consulting one another, and be sure not to orchestrate acts of terror in a locale with a large number of civilians.' That'd be precisely the wrong move here. "I think we can help. There's something to be said for helping yourselves though. You're going to need to organize, and help us help you."

"Fine. But you need a buyer for that type of stuff, dontcha? And you're not willing to pay more, so I'm guessing you wouldn't be the one paying for the data. If I just happened to accidentally get my hands on something, would you set up the sale of. . . whatever? And how much storage would I need for that sorta thing? Wanna know if I can just buy a thumbdrive off the shelf, or if I'll need something bigger or what." Corporate espeionage was entirely foreign to Liliya, on top of the unfamiliarity with the world itself. She didn't expect to try to pull anything in that regard, but it was a combination of posturing and some info gathering.

"That's a bit better, though, a hundred thou is a bit small, think you could do any better? And are we supposed to do anything about this daughter of yours that you keep mentioning so unsubtlely?" This was gonna be hilarious, if two of the people here didn't have a clue what any of this meant, and one of them had apparently been tricked by Deus? Fun, and Liliya honestly meant it. She was confident that she could get out if things got too bad, perks of her little prediction tricks.

They were different, affected by the pod somehow, and while the parts that Edmond found himself equipped with still worked well--perfectly in fact--he stumbled as he stood up. It was curious just how much it surprised him, given that he'd already grown used to wearing the power armor. Yet this was still off-putting and disorienting. To test his mobility and the integration of his own gear, Edmond lifts off the ground with the power armor, testing it's responsiveness in combination with the cybernetics. "Alright, okay. That. . .works, I suppose. Hey Cell, Dackly, Gozer. You're new?" Edmond asked the small red one. "Excuse me if I'm wrong, there are just a lot of us now." +2 Int

"Yeah, what the lady robot said. We're not gonna want any of the old 'follow the white rabbit' bullshit, give it to us plain and simple." This, this might actually be fun, Liliya considered. It was a guess, but it sounded like there were some pretty big gangs moving around, and while maybe navigating the gangs wasn't actually safe, it was her element. Seemed like a pretty high tech place, so that might change things up a bit, especially if all the interactions and stuff were through this matrix. "Specifically, you're gonna have to be plain and simple about the danger, what's it we're allowed to do, and most importantly pay." Maybe Liliya didn't really care about the pay, they were on this mission after all, and there'd be plenty of places without the ability to pay. But this guy seemed like he could, and it seemed like the type of place where not asking about pay would reek of naivete.

"Thank you Mar. I'm pretty sure that those in any measureable quantities would not be very good for me. But it it's simply meat, vegetables, and spices, I trust that it will be fine." He briefly considered something regarding handedness of organic molecules but, he'd eaten plenty so far and not hit that type of problem, so Edmond assumed it could be thrown in with the fact that everyone could communicate with each other as simply a favor offered by the multiverse. No need to look too close.
-
"I understand. On that same note though, as a favor between friends you must tell me if there's something I should look out for, or that I can do, if something comes to mind in the future." With that, Edmond moved on to his own projects, popping off the different pieces of his power armor, and inspecting them one by one. In the backplate, he began to condense some of the circuits, trying to make a bit of room for the hard drives he'd picked up in Seattle. If he could wire this right, he'd be able to record a fairly large amount of high quality combat data for later analysis, or perhaps to be stored somewhere in the castle. Being able to make a digital archive of the worlds they'd visited and enemies they'd faced might be useful in the long run.

"I don't need anything unusual broken apart right now, though the idea of splitting something like magic or flames is intriguing. Pertinent to the most recent project, could one, if they could see it and contact it, split off corruption from a soul or core?" "Anyway, is it too much trouble to ask you to maybe make me some stuff from time to time? I can probably collect a number of materials for you that might be interesting. Or. . . is there something else you'd want in return?" He really wanted the ability to make some kinds of parts on demand, and Mar seemed perfectly suited to the task. Not only could things be made with probably unmatched precision, they apparently could have features as complicated as a microscopic chain mesh.

"Oh yeah, really could have been. He could have died, don't think any of us want to have to explain that to LOTUS or whoever, or to clean up the mess. I might have stepped in myself, but my way of doing things tends to involve a lot of cutting things lethally. . .point is, good job. As far as healing goes, I think Isobel has some healing poppies or something that might numb the pain? There was also a catholic dude who was doing some healing I think, Atton? Don't really know everyone around here though. Bridgett, Spicy, you two don't have any healing stuff, right?" It was always a bit difficult to keep track of all the support stuff going on in a battle. Maybe a bit of tunnel vision, but it worked for Liliya. It was easier to do the predictions if she was paying attention to the pertinent stuff, and when she had to do them so often, every bit of ease helped.

"That's amazing. And is this a combination of the chisel's abilities and yours working together, or simply one of the other?" He was curious, since the man had managed to make the chisel with a single fracture, had he done the same here, or was there some quality to the chisel that helped. Given the glow and the faint sparks, Edmond suspected there might be something. . . more at play here. That the chisel might have elevated or altered the qualities of his work significantly. "Can we mass produce this material?"

"That's rather difficult to believe, at least if they're mundane dogs by the way I know. I was under the impression that the limits were, while partly in the trainers, also in the dogs' physical and mental ability. With a large enough number I could see calculations being possible. . ." Edmond brushed that aside however. "Let's see how it works though. It looks high quality, but it should be tested, I think."

It took Edmond some time to realize what Mar was doing, after the confusion snuck over him. It was an odd, hazy, primal feeling, almost ritualistic. When his senses returned to normal--not quite sharpening, because they hadn't exactly been dulled--Edmond took a step back instinctively. The thing in Mar's hands was a perfect chisel, created with a single strike. From obsidian no less, something which fractured in a concoidal manner, no flat planes to play with "W-well, impressive. I-How do you even do that? Is it a type of magic? Do you need a specific quality of stone? I can't see it working if it's not magic with a less than structurally perfect material. . ." Edmond stepped close again, to get a better look at the tool, to see what type of chisel, and inspect for any deformities.

"Care to give a demonstration of this flintknapping?" It sounded as though the man was just a skilled sculptor, but given his other skills, he'd have to be quite good at it? It could very well be something that he had different standards for. . . There were a number of unanswered questions, so it seemed better to just see it in action.
-
"So what it comes down to is, you don't really know? That's fair, at least you managed to get something that works." Edmond gave a small laugh, and then continued with more curiousity. "That'd definitely be useful, though it should be balanced against whatever specialty you'd be giving up. As far as materials go, is there anything particular that you need? I can keep an eye out or maybe help if there's something particular you need done. I can offer my small talents as an engineer, and, while I'm admittedly not very good at all, I've been practicing some small amount with magic, so maybe with time I could integrate that a bit more into my specialties. . ."

"Oh, that's high praise actually! So, what exactly is this corruption? Is it like. . . a magical virus, something that'd spread if given the chance, or is it something that's sorta contained and can't really grow on its own?" Again, his own inexperience with all this felt blindingly apparent. However, he told himself, there was no better way to familiarize with the more strange and unusual powers than a project like this. And he himself had helped with the amplifier. Sort of. It hadn't been totally necessary it looked like, but he'd made it nonetheless on request. Thinking aloud to himself, he said, "Hmm, I wonder, do you think that Atton has any abilities regarding this? He seemed fervently religious in battle, and perhaps has some power in this domain, given that Lancer sees the corruption as God." Edmond raised his voice a bit "Mr. Atton, do you have a moment?"
