  1. "He just said I could." Halley replied. "I'll have to wait till the lazy dog wakes up, then." She looked into the shelves behind the bartender. There wasn't anything particularly interesting or exotic there. "May I have some water?" She asked.
  2. "Come now, you two. We're not fighting each other." Emmanuel put down the fight as soon as he noticed. "Kalva, we really need to go now." He said. He ran a basic check-up of the water as he walked toward the exit.
  3. "Great, he's gone. A full rendezvous is gonna take awhile, too." Halley frowned and walked away disappointed. She decided to lurk around the bar, eavesdropping on bits of conversation, and eventually arriving before the bartender. "I'm looking for a guy named Solomon. He has a grin on his face that almost never goes away. Have you seen him passing by?" She asked.
  4. "Fine. You're on your own for a bit, then." Halley told Visrii, before going into the bar and to the lounge where Solomon was. She was surprised that she did not get a bounty. After all, she did cause the whole ordeal.
  5. "Are we allowed to get a certain guy out here, at least? His name is Solomon, just pass the words around and I'm sure he'll know." Halley told the bouncer. She finally noticed that the animated bullet was actually a part of the team when he followed. "Well, thanks, but I wasn't really in a pickle all along." She told the Bullet.
  6. "Thanks. I met Deus. He's apparently some sort of God in the matrix, and he has access to every camera on this planet. I convinced Him to get the cameras off us. In return, I just have to install some data in Aztechnology's computers." She answered. She reactivated Wi-Fi and checked for signals again. Luckily, there were none. "Let's go." She ran toward the Psychedelic Pirates.
  7. "Boring. Probably encrypted anyway." Halley scoffed at the data. She went downstairs again and passed by the diseased man and the Bullet, leaving the apartment.
  8. Halley reached out for the ball of light, saving the data it contained. "Sure." She smiled, and stood up from the seat. "Thanks~" She waved her hand, and went upstairs, returning to the real world through the diamond-shaped icon. On the way there, she tried to examine the data's contents.
  9. "I didn't know that this world also had sentient bullets." Halley turned back to the beard suspended in midair. "Whatever /d/ is, it doesn't sound pleasant. Anyway, What's the price?"
  10. "Huh. I thought that the door didn't work in this Matrix." Halley turned and watched as the diseased man get the door. Deus didn't seem to be an omniscient god, as he sure took his time coming up with a plan.
  11. "I was doing the world a favor by kicking his bums." Halley said. She sat on the seat and made herself comfortable. "Say, is there anything I can do for you to get these cameras off me? I'm not actually here to kill the councilor. I'm sure you can tell by our unorganized escape." She sighed. "At the very least, I need those cameras to stop following Visrii, the guy with a halberd."
  12. "What a title- Wait, what the heck? I never introduced myself to anyone but- " Within a mere second, a thought hit Halley. Of course! It can only be explained like this. "You... You were tapping on us! Is privacy such a bizarre concept to you?" She berated the 'God'. "Those cameras must be yours as well, huh?"
  13. "Tell me when you're done, Kalva!" The Kakuna's constant glares bothered Emmanuel somewhat, but the others didn't seem to be in such a hurry to return, so he decided to wait. In meantime, he observed the grass and trees around the area, picking up identifiable herbs and berries.
  14. "Not talking? I was YELLING at him back in the real world-" Halley complained, but she was interrupted by the sudden incoming slap. She quickly rolled aside, dodging the slap. "What's the big deal?"
  15. "This might take awhile. Just go to the Pirates first, alright? I'll catch up later." Halley told Visrii. She put her hand over the door, but it was inactive, like its function taken out of it. "Um, is the voice Deus?" She asked the man.
  16. "I just got into this virtual world through the monitor. Nothing much changed inside, though. Oh, by the way, the guy said he was a contaminant of some sort. I guess this apartment's ridden with some sort of disease. Luckily, I'm immune to it." Halley told Visrii. "There can't also be cameras in the virtual world, right?" She said to herself, trying to open the door again.
  17. "Dead here, too, huh?" Halley muttered to herself. She gave the lifeless skeleton a push, and went downstairs, checking if anything has changed.
  18. "Well, I was greeted by a guy with bulges all over his face, and now I'm looking at a skeleton called Deus. He looks all kinds of dead, but he's connected to this blue-screened monitor with some cables. The guy with bulges was also connected to a computer with cables, but he wasn't, y'know, DEAD." Halley told Visrii. She followed the cables to a nest of ports behind and next to the monitor. There was a freshly-installed USB port on the side of the monitor. She plugged her right index finger into the port, and tried to access the monitor.
  19. "H-Hey! I'm talking to you!" Halley yelled. Frustrated, she walked around the table and around the man's back, barring the monitor from him. "What is so interesting about this screen exactly? And what's with the cables? Are you even here?" Her tone was significantly less pleasant from before.
  20. "Hello... Deus. I am incredibly concerned about all the cameras that followed me up to your doorsteps. I am also incredibly concerned about the fact that all of their signals seem to be directed toward your residence. Your friend downstairs couldn't give me a good explanation, so here I am." Halley said, walking before the table. She looked at the monitor, and asked "Why are you looking at a blank screen? Surely there must be better things for you to do than this, right?"
  21. "This is the place where they converge, yes! But I can't open the door at this rate! Something got into me... That's right!" Halley cut her Wi-Fi, stopping the wild signals from getting to her. The illusion faded, leaving a simple door and an old apartment. "They were sending loads of information at me. It's nothing now, though, now that I stopped the stream." She took a deep breath and put her right hand on the doorknob. She twisted the doorknob, trying to open the door.
  22. "Woahwoahwoah- What the heck?!" Halley exclaimed. She looked around, finding herself in chaotic randomness. "Are you seeing this? The building- no, the whole place is changing!" She ran to the building's door. The door was changing rapidly before her. It was a gaping gargoyle for a second, and a revolving door for another. She wasn't sure if she could even interact with the door without getting her hand bitten by the randomness. "I swear this door was fine a minute ago. Argh! Visrii, can you open this door for me?"
  23. "I don't have medicine on me, but I do have some energy crystals. Not sure if they'll work for you, though." Halley answered. Switching between the two methods of communication wasn't much of a problem for her. "I see a hundred of them, but the signals update haphazardly, so there might be more than that hiding from us. The signals are sent toward the building ahead. Were I to guess, the building could be an amateur radio tower. Perhaps we can just deactivate the radio tower, shaking them off?"
  24. "How does that work- Oh." She nodded. "I usually prefer transceivers, but this works too." "The signals are everywhere, but they are all heading to the same location. Probably just hobbyists that wanted more of us than the satellite's screen."
