  1. Emmanuel could do nothing but watch in the sidelines, as any further interruption would risk friendly fire, and overall, make a mess of things. He quietly observed the battle, with the sentences thrown around leaving marks in the back of his head. He decided to organize everything in his head. The tree was imbalanced and hostile before we brought the shard here. The tree is now balanced, but still hostile... The shard balanced it. Defeat the cores to pacify them. Defeat the tree, and... it would heal everyone? He realized that this made even less sense than before, so he decided to brush the train of thought aside and just put some more faith in the people who actually seem to understand how the whole thing works. He noticed Cathode trying to ready Suzie for combat, and wondered why he wasn't doing the same. There wasn't really any reason not to, so he decided to power up Nicaea with the opportunity as well. Action: Nicaea uses Growth.
  2. "Meaningful... " Serra muttered under her breath. She was already helping people before this; the only thing new was a better pay. She raised her voice, and began to introduce herself again. "I'm Serra, and I ran the Clavis Locksmith Service in Unova's Castelia City, saving countless clumsy businessmen from their dreadful forgetfulness. I know how to get around, and how to stop others from getting around. I hope you'd enjoy my service." She then took a step backwards, signaling the end of her introduction.
  3. Well, Base Attack does not consider ability. It is an unboosted stat. Add Huge Power on top of that, and it becomes a Base Attack but with +2 in the stat. It is no longer unboosted. You're seriously underestimating Mega Rampardos, though. You'd be surprised how improved bulk and a bit of speed is quite vital in fixing Rampardos, all while maintaining some form of originality. It needs to run Jolly, as I've elaborated before. Is the speed too high for TR? Most certainly. Is it too low for a sweeper set? Maybe if I wanted to sell it as a DD Sweeper and give it DD. But Rock Polish is more than enough to fix that. At +2 speed, not even Scarfed Crobat is enough to outspeed it, and who runs that? It is an awkward speed tier, no lies, but it is a nice speed tier to outspeed most tanks that it want to move first against. Namely, the ever dreadful Tapu Fini, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Scizor (sometimes running Superpower, dangerous stuff). Mediocre bulk? I'll give you that, but you can't have everything. As far as the standards for its kind (fast attackers), it is above average, and you'd be surprised how it is capable of taking chip damage, on top of an additional Steel typing - which grants it way more resistances. Common weaknesses (Fighting, Ground, and Water), but the weaknesses that it gained already destroys it to begin with. Compared to the number of resistances gained, I believe it's a very good trade-off. Do the said weaknesses hinder it in its way to becoming a wallbreaker? Somewhat, I suppose, but the walls that can actually abuse those weaknesses aren't exactly large in number. I listed Mega Steelix and Mega Aggron (who apparently run EQ nowadays), but those two Pokemon are already the toughest physical tanks out there, it has no business against them to begin with - leave that to a special attacker! You mentioned the idea of a bulky attacker, and I must say, you should not use it as a bulky attacker. That's an absolute waste of its stats and its potential. Its bulk is only there to assist it in setting up, whether it be a Swords Dance or a Rock Polish. Oh, and one additional note. Despite how I mentioned priority being a great weakness to Mega Rampardos, it actually isn't as much of a problem as it would've been if I had made this during Gen 6, as Tapu Lele's popularity in general greatly discouraged the use of priority moves. I believe that I've managed to salvage Rampardos quite well, at least compared to how GF tried to salvage Camerupt, Glalie, Houndoom, and Audino. It does its role particularly well. It does have shortcomings, like what I've briefed in my original post, but just like most Pokemon, its shortcomings can be remedied through a well-built team. I certainly did not design Mega Rampardos to be able to stand against the entire meta without team support, as that would be, by definition, broken, but its weaknesses are far from crippling, and its strengths still outshine them. How would you fix Rampardos, though? Aside from this draft, I've also considered a Rock Head version, as well as a version that gives it Dragon Dance, but the former proves to be severely lacking in coverage power as well as reliability, and the latter is honestly unimaginative, considering how we already got Tyrantrum filling the bill. You can fix a lot of things with DD anyway.
  4. And they rock, Swamp! Mega Probopass' pushing the limits of stats trades, though, even more extreme than Beedrill Then again, it's hard to fix Probopass otherwise. The one thought I have is turning it into a discount Mega Diancie but that's quite the heresy. Anyway, as promised... Mega Rampardos Type: Rock/Steel Ability: Sheer Force HP: 97 Atk: 165 -> 205 (+40) Def: 60 -> 80 (+20) SpA: 65 -> 55 (-10) SpD: 50 -> 70 (+20) Spe: 58 -> 88 (+30) BST: 495 -> 595 (+100) New Move: Hone Claws Upon Mega Evolution, Rampardos becomes a senseless demon of destruction. It would run in straight lines, leveling cities and punching tunnels through the greatest of mountains. Its sheer power is even stronger than that of gods! The only thing that can truly bring a stop to its wrath is a swift knock out. Though, that's hard to do once it has picked up speed. Mega Rampardos' main selling point is its godly 205 Attack (the highest of all Pokemon!), making it a fearsome attacker. It retains Sheer Force as its ability, and that compliments its new Steel typing quite a bit, with both Iron Head and Iron Tail being boosted. Its new typing also grants it protection against Bullet Punches. Its bulk becomes just average, giving it more breathing room to set up with. That's about where it ends, though. Its poor Speed forces it to rely on Rock Polish to have a chance of sweeping. On top of that, 88 Speed still leaves it at a perilous 50-50 Speed tie against Excadrill in sand, so even Rock Polish sets aren't safe after setting up. Despite how powerful Rampardos seems to be, the notorious Steel-type tanks can easily threaten it with EQs, preventing it from setting up on them. Chansey still escapes OHKO and can leave a cheeky and nasty paralysis on its legs. (Though Toxic sets are screwed) And lastly, it dreads against Aqua Jet, Mach Punch, and Vacuum Wave, for those moves will quickly dispatch it before it even taps into its true power. Mega Rampardos appreciates team support greatly. Tapu Lele is capable of protecting it from the nasty priority moves that it dread, and Special Wallbreakers such as Blacephalon can help it remove the likes of Mega Steelix and Mega Aggron. Sticky Web support allows it to get an edge over the crowded Speed tier that it is in, though you would still want to have Rock Polish in case you can't keep the webs on the field. Sample Sets: The Best Defense is a Good Offense (Physical Sweeper) The New Face of Destruction (Physical Wallbreaker)
  5. Mega Bastiodon Type: Rock/Ghost Ability: Aegis (Multiscale clone) HP: 60 Atk: 52 Def: 168 -> 208 (+40) SpA: 47 -> 67 (+20) SpD: 138 -> 178 (+40) Spe: 30 BST: 495 -> 595 (+100) New Move: Recover. From its Mega Stone, an ancient power awakens. Bastiodon draws power from the ancient days, where men fought with Pokemon in arms. Its shield expands, its build expands, and its face, is ever more fearsome, truly the face of a seasoned warrior. To differentiate itself with Mega Aggron, it takes a different approach to tanking, with Aegis. It still sports way more weaknesses than Mega Aggron, and with less resistances. Why in the world would you consider using Mega Bastiodon over Mega Aggron, then? More utility, of course! Mega Bastiodon presents reliable recovery, infinitely better special bulk, Metal Burst for Counter + Mirror Coat in one, and only missing Thunder Wave in exchange of all that. Its better Special Attack allows it to pull off niche max SpA sets with strong coverage moves to snipe various powerful Pokemon in the meta. Its bulk is lesser than that of Mega Aggron's, but it is still very much formidable. And, perhaps most important of all, its Ghost typing grants it trapping immunity. Its main weaknesses are carried from its base form, with it being extremely weak to Taunt, way more so than Mega Aggron, who can still dish out decent damage with Heavy Slam, or Dragon Tail to continue phazing. Losing the Steel typing also means that it is vulnerable to Toxic again, putting it in a disadvantage against opposing tanks. When using Mega Bastiodon, you would often want to hold off Mega Evolving against opposing tanks, as the poison immunity would help significantly against the likes of Chansey. Sample Set: The Best Offense is a Good Defense (Physical Tank) Mega Rampardos coming in a later date, let's make Rock types not crap again.
  6. Personally a bit indifferent about the Mega Drapion's access to Nasty Plot. Drapion's physical movepool far, far outshines its special movepool. Venoshock and HP Fire aren't really enough to warrant running a fully special Nasty Plot set over a physical one. Plus, it also has Swords Dance to work with. Though, using HP Fire over Fire Fang, with the increased Special Attack, is pretty nice. Mega Stantler's an interesting take, though. Compared to Greninja, it trades speed for more starting power and more viable coverage. Unpredictability makes it all the more fearsome, as it can run virtually any combination of sets to nail different Pokemon in the meta, and it would even be viable to run a mixed Work Up set as a wallbreaker that can deal with both physical tanks and special tanks.
  7. Mega Vileplume Type: Grass/Poison Ability: Berserk HP: 75 Atk: 80 Def: 85 -> 115 (+30) SpA: 110 -> 140 (+30) SpD: 90 -> 130 (+40) Spe: 50 BST: 490 -> 590 (+100) Did you think Mega Venusaur was bad? Well, I have bad news for you! Mega Vileplume here is here to further expand upon that madness! Its petals got sturdier, its poison got nastier, and it is just bigger and stronger than before! Its new ability, Berserk, used to be wasted on a Pokemon with no reliable recovery - Drampa. But here, it becomes an atrocious ability, complimenting its newfound bulk and recovery perfectly. With each time you bring Mega Vileplume down below 50% HP, its Special Attack increases, and soon you'll find it breaking a stall on its own! Its new move from USUM, Strength Sap, further assists it in magnifying its physical bulk and serving as a more sustainable recovery move. However, several things bar Mega Vileplume from glory. Its poor Speed leaves it vulnerable to opposing wallbreakers, and the weaknesses that come attached with the typing still haunt it and drastically reducing its longevity. Luckily, with some team support, the latter can be mostly fixed. Sample Set: Lingering Stink of the Orient (Tank) Sets incorporating Toxic can be used, but honestly you would be better off using Mega Venusaur in that regard. And that doesn't run Toxic normally anyway.
  8. Serra nodded at the answer... and all the other sentences she heard during the rest of the tour. She was putting up a convincing act, at least. She stared at her desk for a long while, before dumping her bag on the desk. The desk was fairly close the waste bin, all the more convenient for her. She took a large sticker out of the bag - the logo of her service, a keyhole, and slapped it on the side of the desk. Finally, she made her way to the main lobby when it was her time to do so.
  9. "Yeah. We're going," Emmanuel answered. He turned to Radovan and said "Oh, you're coming as well? We've decided to investigate what's at the bottom of this well. Come on, let's waste no time!" He followed Betani's suit and started to make his way down the well.
  10. Serra mindlessly followed James through a library that she would probably never visit again until the immense pressure was gone - indicating that they had finally left the library. She sighed, and said softly, "that was not fun." She turned to the doors, and asked, "you said no one goes there, does that mean no one has messed up so far?"
  11. As Horace took his sunglasses off, Serra nodded in approval and stepped into the elevator, hoping that their ascend won't be as painful as the elevator's descent.
  12. "I was referred to, and the pay is better here, so I figured that I might as well as come," Serra answered Kayn's question, before turning to Adara. "Well, thanks?" She blushed a little. "I had the shirt as a custom order for brand recognition, but I designed the logo myself." She strode by the sunglasses guy and took a closer look at his sunglasses. They didn't seem to be anything special. "And you, Horace, why are you wearing sunglasses indoors?"
  13. Serra walked into the dreadful silence between Kayn and Horace. Not wanting to add more to the awkwardness, she did them a favor and took a closer look at their apparels. Mr. Wearing-Sunglasses-Indoors, and Mr. Getting-A-Poor-Fit... She took a breath, and attempted to break the silence. "Kayn, that suit doesn't seem to be your size. Is it a friend's?"
  14. Serra filled her form quite quickly. It wasn't anything particularly special. Unlike seemingly everyone else here, she had kept Cleffy in her ball, as Cleffy sneaking around stealing keys would make a horrible first impression. She fiddled with the buttons on her brown jacket before shoving her filled forms to a man asking for where to hand in the forms. "While you're asking, hand in my forms for me, alright?" A boy introduced himself as Kayn. Very obviously a kid; after all, only a kid would ever need to stress that they're not one. She mused to herself for awhile, before she figured that it was her turn. "My name's Serra Clavis, and I used to run a locksmith service, so I'd believe that you can connect the dots on your own." Her distinct lack of enthusiasm or nervousness almost stood out too well. My age's showing, isn't it...
  15. Halley fired at the skeletal soldiers, for they seemed to be the slowest, allowing her to get more damage with her barrage. Action: Blaster - Splendid Star (Basic Attack) on DT Soldiers A, dealing 1d8 + [SYN] = 1d8 + 6 (+1d4 for every 4 DEX advatange she has over the target) damage. Active Cooldowns: Blaster - Paralyzer: Ready next turn. Blaster - Sparkling Suppressor: One turn left.
  16. Emmanuel was somewhat disappointed to find that they were too late, but there were more pressing concerns then. He rushed to examine the well. It was no longer filled, but instead, with a glowing pit. The purple glow almost felt familiar, like the other purple hole he had just seen in the video chat with Kai. He looked for a pebble or a fallen piece of branch and dropped it into the well to get a sense of its depth. If there weren't none, he would just use the Glowing Branch Poochy's holding instead.
  17. Emmanuel held for a second. While it was important that they make sure Kalva and co. were okay, what if something happened to Betani after she reached the surface as they were busy in the depths of the Nexus? He turned to look at Cathode. She seemed fairly reliable, having escorted Zeta safely. "I'll go along with Betani, since it wouldn't be safe to go alone. Take care of Radovan and Frederick and find the others for me, alright? I believe in you," he smiled at Cathode before turning back to Betani, ready to follow her.

I play Reborn, the game, I sometimes post in the Create-A-Mega-Pokemon thread, and I'm involved in the Roleplaying scene of the forums. Notably, I'm still a regular on the Showdown chat, for no good reason. Why are you here?: Because why not a friend of mine introduced Pokemon Reborn about two to three years ago (It was E14 then, I think?) I stopped playing for awhile after passing Corey, but then I stumbled upon the game again and decided to check the site to see if there was a new update. I ended up not only getting E15, but also diving head first into the Roleplaying subforums, annoying the seniors then quite a bit with my absolute lack of grasp on proper Roleplaying and the way freeform combat was handled. I was "That Guy," and I had to apologize for all the damage that I did. I am still very much sorry for my antics to this day, yet I still find myself screwing up big time often and getting the proper scolding in response. Here's hoping that I'll finally be able to change one day. Why are you still here?: Because I've made friends here, and I am still actively taking part in RPs. What can I talk to you about?: Pokemon, anything about Taiwan. You can also send me memes, I guess? Oh, I'm also open to DMs, so feel free to interrogate ask me things. I wouldn't recommend confiding to me, though. Closing Statements: Who's Bibs?
  19. The thought of making an AMA at New Year's Eve has crossed my mind lately. Eh, I'll probably end up not doing it anyway. Next year, it is!

  20. Emmanuel showed the sight of the hole to the others, before replying to Kai. "We just saved a Sableye nest from a seemingly corrupted shard. I think that was what the Absol wanted us to do." "Anyway, I guess that the others are likely to be down the hole. Maybe that's where the Wailord is? It sure is taking them awhile, though. Something else must have happened. We'll catch up to you in a few minutes. See you then," Emmanuel ended the video chat. "Come on, let's go. We can't leave them behind," he reaffirmed Cathode's suggestion, and began to lead the way to Kai's position.
  21. Halley was pleasantly pleased by the turn of events, and decided take proper advantage of the regained momentum. Action: Blaster - Sparkling Suppressor on [SYN]/2 = 3 enemies: Bel Lahmu B, Bel Lahmu C, Lahmu B, for [SYN] = 6 (+ 1d4 damage for every DEX advantage Halley has over her targets). Disables Basic Attack and Basic Defense for one turn. Two-turn cooldown. Active Cooldowns: Blaster - Paralyzer: One turn left. Blaster - Sparkling Suppressor: Two turns left.
  22. Emmanuel took a look at the map. It seemed that Kalva and co. completely disappeared from the map after arriving in the Wailord corridor. Something was blocking their signal at the end of the corridor. Luckily, as they took care of the Pixie Shard, Kai had already taken off with Uno to the same corridor. "A moment, please," Emmanuel sent a video chat request to Kai. Should the request go through, he would immediately boot the conversation with "What's down there?"
  23. Emmanuel was stunned for a second, with the wish actually coming true. With a slight hint of hesitation, he accepted the Pixie Shard from the Sableye. He looked at the shard, and then back to Betani. And then, he simply passed the shard to her. It would have to do for now, as an apology of some sorts. He then knelt down to collect the cold water, approximately 150 mL of it. "I think that was it. Let's go, to the surface," he stood up and said. "The Absol would be content with the conclusion." Should the team not object, he would make his way out of the chamber and to the staircase the Absol was blocking.
  24. Emmanuel did, in fact, realize that he had been a tad bit too aggressive for his own good, and he didn't really keep Betani's pride in mind. It wouldn't be good for him to make enemies so quickly, so he decided to keep his yap shut for awhile, as he thought about ways to make up to Betani later. Maybe a scoop of ice cream or two? The horrific sight of the chamber brought Emmanuel out of his train of thought. He would've instinctively contaminated the shard in his bag, but Zeta's confident, yet outlandish words suggested another option. Solosis quickly voiced her objection to Emmanuel, and it was quite understandable, too. The only place he knew where wishes could come true... Was not here. It was in #07. Yet, between performing a quick ritual and risking his A-Comm, he could afford the former to fail more easily. Logic had dictated that he should at least try to follow Zeta's instructions first, and so he would. He gave Betani another look and then closed his eyes, wishing for life to spring from the shard, like a fountain of cream-white energy splashing carelessly throughout the chamber. At least, that was how he imagined it.
