    @King Murdoc Score could not detect the rift at all. It was as if it weren't there in the first place. If it were hidden, then it would've been done extremely well, considering its scale. It made no sense that a supposed virus breeder was able to accomplish this. Moments later, she received a response from the local authorities.     @King Murdoc "Right. I'll be on my way, then," the HeelNavi hopped through the rift. A few seconds later, the rift vanished without a trace. The area didn't have anything else of interest, aside from the passage leading to the hub of the Street Lamp network, which was blocked by a security cube. Moments later, it struck you. You might have been had. But it was too late.

    @King Murdoc "You're kidding me..." the HeelNavi exclaimed, "tch, I should've brought more viruses with me. I'm not exactly a fighting model myself..." After a few seconds of silence, he then smirked and said, "fine, I'll spill the beans. That portal is a shortcut for my own virus breeding purposes. I pick these kinds of cyberspace to let them grow in an open environment. Gotta let them feel the natural selection sometimes, you know?" He pointed to the purple rift. "But you clearly don't appreciate me here, so how about you let me go through the rift and shut it down from the other side? I'll take my viruses elsewhere." @Cronos5010 "Hey, the fryer's working again! Thanks, mate! Fish and chips, coming up!" After a few minutes, the chef got the order done, and handed it to Vlastimir. "Enjoy!"

She put down her headphones, and slowly moved to turn off the music. She blinked twice, regaining her awareness toward the surroundings. The most immediate problem she noticed was the unfamiliar woman sitting over her desk. "Get off," she said, prodding the woman's butt. Then, she rolled her eyes to Elias. "Did you say something?"

And me and my little pal here aren't really cut for deleting any viruses tougher than Mettaurs. Bah...     Emmanuel nodded. What Mason had added were merely details, ones that he didn't have to include in his report. He figured, and simply waited for Radovan and Cathode to take their leave. "I'll catch up to you guys later," he added.

    "Hey. Mr. Challenger. I can fly, and better than you can. With those shaky rocket boots, you should be sitting in the sidecar. We wouldn't want you to miss the mark and go *splat* on those walls." Marina remarked, as she stepped into the door, following Immanuel.

    "Fan-freaking-tastic," Serra groaned. She rushed upstairs, dumped the suitcase at her cubicle, and swiftly hit the shower rooms with the provided gears. After a good half hour, she reemerged from the shower, without the unbearable smell. Finally, she returned to her cubicle, took out a pair of headphones, and just, napped in the sound of some 90s karaoke song.

    "That name again?" Marina glared at her uncle with disapproval, "even the robot knows how stupid it sounds!" She was tempted to ask Chise about all the belts, but she figured that she would basically be asking for a "classified information" response. With all hopes of going off-topic gone, she had to get to business - that is, replying to Tor's question. "Oh, didn't Crow mention that the mononoke have assault rifles? Whatever power they actually have, we could guess that it would be weaker or more unwieldy than the rifles. As for the fortress, I could scout its defenses for you guys, though also according to Crow, this Card Emperor had already managed to get a squad in, so it probably wouldn't be much trouble for us to get inside either."

    After enjoying a hearty breakfast at Remi's place, Marina bid her farewell and flew back to the city... Only to be informed halfway through that she was to deal with a bunch of gun-totting mononoke right away. "Okay... Crow? That's a day off, then!" She gleefully took a right turn and headed for the designated rendezvous spot. She landed on the terrace gracefully, and entered the apartment. Her wings faded away as she wouldn't be using them for a bit. "Huh. I'm early," she took a seat on the couch, as she waited for the others to enter (and hopefully introduce themselves).

    @Cronos5010 Vlastimir wandered through the quiet streets of Newham, and came across the Shopping Centre Midori told him about. 8:00 PM, Westfield Shopping Centre The shopping center had glass windows and white walls, with this sleek design that would give one the impression of an airport. Streetlamps lined around it. According to Midori, the center would stay open for another hour. On another note, Vlastimir could see a chip van (a food truck selling fish and chips) just a few meters away from the entrance. The chef inside seemed distressed, with him turning away passing customers while fiddling with his fryer. @PigeonOfAstora Stevens laughed awkwardly, before letting out a big sigh. "Well, I'm not really an established sculptor. The National Gallery wouldn't even bat an eye at me, so here I am, asking passersby around to check out my work, just so I can get a bit more recognition. Hardly anyone seems interested, though, aside from you." @King Murdoc

    Serra's face had regret written all over it. The ride itself was so bad that she wished that she had walked back here on foot, even if that meant walking through Ilex Forest. After arriving, she stepped into the doors and ran up to Emilia, with the suitcase in hand. "Is Oak still here? Or is he done waiting?"

    @PigeonOfAstora "Oh, that's great! It's a gallery of stone sculptures, actually. Just follow me!" Axel followed Stevens through the London streets, and finally arriving at a seemingly plain apartment. "Right downstairs!" After climbing down several flights of stairs, Axel would find himself in a basement with marble floors and walls. Several busts of men and women were placed on top of chiseled white pillars. They were somewhat rough on the edges, but would still be able to convince untrained eyes that they were done by a master. The floors were cleaned halfheartedly, with some leftovers of stone bits piling near the pillars. "Hahaha, impressive, aren't they? But wait, there's more!" Stevens eagerly rushed across the basement and opened a door at the end of it, revealing another room, containing a statue of a young man. He held a pick in his right hand, and he appeared to be chiseling something (read: the air) while standing up tall. "That's my magnum opus - The Young Sculptor!" Considering the absolute lack of people here and the plain exterior of the "exhibition," it seemed that he was really just trying to rope Axel into seeing his own works. @Cronos5010 (The dinner was of course free to the hotel's guests. Other than that, there's nothing here for me to add) @King Murdoc The HeelNavi's escape route was successfully blocked by Score. "Tsk... I warned you!" Desperate, he revealed a diamond similar to that of mystery data, and released multiple viruses! "Smash that Navi!" Battle Start!

    After nearly an entire year, I've finally finished Mao: The Real Story.

     

    The Chinese translation I read was a bit over 600 pages long, but boy was it a good read.

(Unless you plan on waking up in the middle of the night, please wait until the others are done) @PigeonOfAstora "Ah, my name's Stevens. Now, let's get going." Stevens brought Axel to a small restaurant. The exterior featured a red, stylized "Johnny's Fish Club," along with a huge plastic fish, its scales dotted with tiny lights. The inside of the restaurant was paved with black granite slabs, giving Axel a mild chill as he stepped inside. The sandstone walls were chiseled with various murals all over them, from the menu of the restaurant, to introductions about certain species of fish. He could see anglerfish lamps on the counter as well, giving off yellow lights. Stools lined along the long, mahogany counter, some occupied already. "Oh hey, if it isn't Stevens again! And with another mate today, I see?" The cook behind the counter waved at Stevens. "Yeah, Johnny," Stevens answered, as he stepped closer to the cook, "er, two fish and chips to go, please." "Alright," the cook turned around, and began to work on the order. After a few minutes, the floured cod were fried thoroughly and made into chips. He sprinkled the chips with lemons and wrapped them in newspapers along with some fries. "Here ya go," he said, as he passed the wraps to Stevens and Axel. Stevens, of course, slid the money across the counter in return. "So, uh, about my offer... Could you maybe give it a second thought?" Stevens asked, as he ate his fish and chips. @Cronos5010 "... Alright. Thank you for your cooperation, mister! I wish you a wonderful dinner!" The police officer tipped his hat and waved Vlastimir away. @King Murdoc Cyberspace: LondonStreetlamp-GW-056_Comp The cyberspace inside the streetlamp would be fairly bare-bone, with a mere square platform encompassing all of its needs, and a passage to the vast network connecting all the other streetlamps in London... If not for the ominous purple rift barring the passage, and the violet HeelNavi before it. "Annnd there we go. The connection should be stable now. Well then, my work is done, time to go back and hide it from the other en- Huh? Who goes there?" He jumped in shock. "What the devil... the workers aren't supposed to be examining the lamps now. And... You don't look a bit like those NormalNavis, either. A curious citizen, then? Whatever, forget what you see now and jack out, it's for your own good," he then slowly walked backwards, getting closer to the rift. Score could probably intercept him in time, if she were to move right away.

    "After discovering a pitfall that reaches down into the nexus' underground, we went down there and discovered several things. First, water flows beneath the nexus, and wild Pokemon exist as well, such as Oddish and Woobat. Second, much like the surface, the underground is crystalized. The crystals seemed to contain energy of some form, deducted by the unnatural release of light upon their destruction. Third, we noticed a Wailord trapped underground as well, likely not native to the nexus, considering the lack of space. Fourth, we discovered a shard that drains life around it, after being alerted by a wild Absol. We, through Zeta's help, were able to reverse its effects. We took the shard to the core, only to find it dragged out of Betani's A-Comm and merging with the cores. And fifth, the nexus has two cores, mounted on what appeared to be the Tree of Life Zeta mentioned before. The tree itself has two aspects, one that drains life around it, akin to the effects of the shard, and one that heals wounds, akin to the effects of the nexus' water. The two cores of the nexus seemed to be based around the two aspects, judging by their moves and behaviors. In the end, we managed to pacify the tree, and by extension, the two cores, through our combined efforts."

    @King Murdoc "Sounds like a plan." The two eventually reached full circle around the Greenway. The sun finally began to set as well, and the streetlamps began to light up one by one. "Well, that was pretty pleasant. I'll be going back to the hotel, then. Good luck, Mitsuru. And, as much bad blood there is between me and Score, do keep her in one piece for me, alright?" He waved, before walking back toward the hotel. Mitsuru could follow him if he wanted to. On the other hand, he would notice something in the distance, a broken streetlamp standing out among functional ones. These streetlamps all had jack-in ports for maintenance, so he could consider checking what's messing with it. @Cronos5010 "Hm. Where's this ride you speak of?" The police asked. @Strider "... Well, run along now. Please just wait for official statements." The police officer frowned slightly as she shooed Hina away.

Any extra information about the victim will accelerate the detective work on our part." @Cronos5010 "The road's blocked because a man was shot here. And... could the person you're talking about be the victim, Florens Harrison? If so, would you come with us and tell us more about him? Any information about the victim will accelerate the detective work on our part."

I'm here for the thrill of the fight, personally, even if me and Vile kinda screwed up badly back there," Brock let off a few dry laughs, before continuing. "You know, it's not like we've crossed Omega yet. As long as we keep our distance from them, we'll be able to enjoy the trip without risking a bullet through our skulls." "I wonder if the others are just like you." -- @Strider Hina took the tube and headed for the crime scene. The sun finally began to set, but the scene remained full of police. Several police were placed around both ends of the road, preventing civilians from entering. From a distance, she could see a chalked outline of what was likely Florens Harrison's position when he was shot. They seemed to be cleaning up, though. It would be unwise to lock down a road in the center of London for too long, after all. -- @Cronos5010 Orenucu would not be able to find anymore information on the man or his Navi. "Omega? Come now, NetCrime is a thing of the past! Surely you don't believe that they're able to get around the state-of-the-art defense programs that guard the entire net, right?" The attendant laughed at Vlastimir's question. He tuned back into the news channels. Apparently, the police had just located the shooter's car, and was chasing after it throughout the city. Not much else was revealed, though. He would be able to acquire the names of a few reporters: Anna Caudell, Roger Nelson, and Rob Haselwood. Vlastimir would not be able to stay connected to the London Area as he'd be too far away from the jack-in port. Though, Orenucu would still be able to operate independently in there, just without the ability to communicate with his operator.

    @Strider "Never heard of him." The attendant answered. In Hina's search, she'd find that Florens Harrison was an engineer that lived in London, but she wouldn't be able to find anything else about him, which seemed to imply his lack of fame as well as his lack of activity online. She would then find out that any crime groups in London only really operated near the edge of the city, where the poorer neighborhoods were located. They included the English "Brindles," the Irish "Adams," and the Turkish Cypriot "Arifs," and they all seemed to be territorial. As for hired guns, she couldn't really find any. It wasn't like they would be so daring as to advertise their services publicly, after all. Hina would attempt to look for the reporter, but there was just one problem - she didn't catch her name.
