personally think it has more value as a method of tracking things than a social device tho. So of your only reason for using it is social it's less worth it
I made one for the sake organizing what I've watched over the years and, more importantly, to make a list of what I still want to watch. It is very helpful in that regard, plus the site notifies you if a franchise you have marked gets a new release.
