Pokémon (obviously), reading and writing fanfics, browsing the internet, playing board games.
  1. I find there's a trend between nicer graphics and better fangames though I wouldn't say the graphics themselves matter to me very much. I'll appreciate if they're more detailed, yes, but it wouldn't fundamentally change my opinion of the game, I can still enjoy a game even if it uses default graphics. Honestly, I also love when fangames use gen 2 graphics; maybe it's the nostalgia but they're very charming. However, I think it's vital that you have the correct graphics to match what the game is trying to show. For instance, if a game ventured into something like the bottom of a well then I think the graphics should make that environment seem believable - the may necessitate some custom graphics. Even if it's only a few small tiles, such as having a broken bridge, or broken glass, the graphics need to make the broken bridge look convincing. It would be slightly jarring if the graphics didn't match what the area is supposed to look like. All this assumes that the maps themselves are relatively well constructed but if it's a badly done map then it doesn't really matter how nice the graphics are.
  2. These are some really cool types, I particularly like the idea of cyber! Not sure if it makes sense for it but ice is currently the weakest type defensively so making it resist a couple of these might make it more useful. Don't think you mentioned flying types at all, I feel like they should be either strong against or weak against cosmic, can't decide which. Dark pokemon aren't really darkness though - the majority of it's moves are basically dirty fighting, E.g Bite, Beat up, Faint attack, Sucker punch, fake tears, snatch. Fighing is strong against it because a trained fighter wouldn't all for those tricks.
  3. Nice job on Cal, he's no joke. It took me like a dozen tries on my grass monotype and I made sure to fight him in the rain. I basically had lilligant put the infernape to sleep, leech seed and then use 6 quiver dances. (plus healed her so she didn't faint whenever it woke up before I put it back to sleep.) After that she giga drained the whole team and I was lucky not to miss many sleep powders and that charizard thought thunderpunch was the move to go for, while typhlosion was set on sunny day. Yeah those dozen tries were basically me waiting for the stars to align. 'Course now I can say I beat Cal with just a lilligant; she's so awesome. Nice team you have there but you won't be able to use many of them against Kiki next.
  4. Good luck with all those monotypes! There sure are a lot to do. You might want to reconsider doing grass for Pokemon white as you literally get no grass types aside from your starter until you have two badges. The first gym will use a type you're weak to and the second gym favours retaliate; also it's one of the games that added that you get less experience when you're higher level, making training a single pokemon a bit of a nightmare. It would get better after that however. (I've done grass monos for Crystal, Emerald, Platinum and Black 2 but kind of skipped Black & White). Hmm... a psychic monotype for rejuvenation could be good, though fairy is also nice.
  5. Worse than the air metre has to be characters that die if they so much as touch water. My character can do so many things and yet they can't swim - that or the waters made of pure acid.
  6. Nice to see shelly was beaten without too much trouble, she was a nightmare for me in my grass mono and I resorted to jumpluff using acrobatics with an x attack while the rest of my team gave support - most of them were part poison but they were lacking any attacks that could really hurt most of her Pokemon. Elekid is pretty good, but I think it's okay to use - though your team's starting to contain quite a few electric Pokémon.
  7. There's several grass types available to you right away, and an igglybuff, so it shouldn't be necessary to hack anything in. I guess ice or steel would be more restricting though.
  8. Good luck! I don't think there's a lot of either of those types before the first gym so I expect Julia might actually be one of your harder fights, for a while anyway. Chimchar's a good starter anyway. I think it's a dual-type rather than a monotype - unless you're intending to have a fairy team and a fighting team, which would be mutually exclusive; that's pretty cool in it's own way .
  9. I'd love my character to get to own a house where she could let all her team out at once and the Pokémon would wander around it. Decorating it unnecessarily is a bonus. I think sometimes my character wants to have a place of her own to rest.
  10. I was a bit wary of playing Pokémon Uranium because of the fakemon but I will agree that they look fairly nice and like actual Pokémon. Plus it gave me a grass-steel starter, which I like. I've just been playing Pokémon Super Eevee edition now and I'm really enjoying it. I consider gen 2 my first gen (though technically I played red first) and there's something very appealing about playing on the pleasant gen 2 graphics, with scary invasions of gen 3 graphics making the story engaging. A final fantasy fight system works surprisingly well though it's annoying to have to only carry 4 Pokemon when I'm catching so many others. The dialogue is nice, with only a very occasional spelling error. And Eevee's never been more awesome. Thanks for that rec!
  11. On slow to update games, it does depend on the game. As this is for fan-game suggestions I think you should probably (eventually) mention every fan-game that's worth playing. So even if it's incomplete and potentially abandoned, if there's several hours of interesting gameplay and it's considered worth the investment to try out the incomplete story then it could be included. So if a game's slow to update and has less than three badges (assuming badges aren't as far apart as Reborn's) then it's probably not far enough along. But if it has six or seven badges and it's interesting enough then it ought to be included. Update speed is less important than game progress - but maybe it's a good idea to separate games that haven't updated in a while from one's that update more frequently.
  12. Cool, good luck with your run. I'm sure it'll be a challenge but hopefully fun too! Not sure about rule 3 as it isn't really a duotype(?) if you go beyond your two types . It's way more rewarding if you can find a strategy to win with just your chosen types, even if it takes a lot of attempts and a lot of luck. But maybe it'll still work out.
  13. Not sure what it'd fit under best but I'll mention Pokemon Tower Defense and it's even better sequel, both web-based. In it you play through a weird but fun story where instead of regular turn-based battles, your team are 'towers' attacking the oncoming pokemon to prevent them from proceeding. It sounds weird but Pokémon still learn their attacks and still level up by defeating enemies and you can catch more Pokémon as you advance. You can also trade Pokémon online on it online. Levels are challenging and will require a lot of strategy. Both games are complete though some extra features are still being added to PTD2. If you want an MMO, there's the Pokémon MMO too though I found it underwhelming. It has a large community though. There's a few Rom hacks I could mention but the ones I'm interested in are still far from complete.

do you have someone with toxic and that is a bit bulky? I beat him with swalot, toxic every turn till he used the full heals, and its a win after that

Just beat him! I waited 'til he missed with focus blast so shifty could swagger him 3 times, then sent out roserade who used toxic when he got hurt in confusion.

there you go :) yeah something seems like "omg so hard cant beat this" but you just need some good status strategy and luck also helps

  15. I think the cottonee is new and used to be a grotle. Your team seems really good, and rather balanced. I think the casino pokemon might've changed as well as I don't recall any nidoran.
