A possible solution would be to create subforums for the truly great fangames, pin a few good fangames in the fangame subforum, and then leave the dime-a-dozen fangames as they are. -

That feel when doing really well and then suddenly "Adobe AIR client has crashed" pops up right as a team fight starts, tabs you out, and you proceed to lose the game because of it.
