Just got dunked on by fern in adventuring woods, immediately after dunking on Noel. Noel I thought would be easier considering how much grinding I did, but most of that went to Larvesta anyway lol. I was a little surprised when they called me out for burning the field, so I guess I'll use Sludge Wave next time.

Oh man, that Cinccino (how do you even pronounce that?) Caught me by surprise. It outsped and revenge-killed my 4 hp flygon. Thankfully I had Crobat to clean up afterwards.
The biggest terror for me was Bewear. I straight-up didn't have anything to really counter it, due to its excellent coverage. I had to use both Drapion and Crobat to take it down.
That (Shiny) Crobat really, really saved my behind. That combination of speed, Moderate offenses, and Haze really, really helped, plus air slash flinch hax was critical in both Noel and later Fern.

where the heck do you get a trapinch and a larvesta at this point in the game? Also, something happens if you set the field on fire? It's constantly raining (which is weird because it's actually doing that irl where I live) so I never actually set it ablaze to see it
I literally won only by the Clefable killing itself because nothing I did damaged it, it was a super annoying fight and the Cinccino was the hardest thing to get past because of its stupid skill link -
Trapinch: there's a house that teleported out of spinel town into Chrysolia woods, near the town entrance. there's a hiker in there who wants to trade said trapinch in return for a mothim, which can be caught by headbutting trees in Seacrest's garden (entrance in lower peridot ward), catching the male burmy you find, and evolving it.
Larvesta is a mystery egg from the police quest: find all 5 officers, then get the growlithe, then one officer will ask for a growlithe egg in return for a random mystery egg. I just got really lucky :P. The 'mon list has all the rest, of the options but highlights include both Vulpix, Drilbur, Gastly, and Mareanie.
Oh right, forgot about the field. It rains in Tanzan Cover almost constantly, but on the rare days it clears up, using flame burst, heat wave, Lava plume, and a few other fire moves turns the field from grassy to flaming. This field buffs fire moves, makes non-fire pokemon take periodic damage, and makes Anna call you out for messing with Laura's precious flowers. Thankfully Laura misses the fight and doesn't notice. The move Sludge Wave (Aya's TM) also allows you to turn the field into a corrupted field, aka Corey's base field if you don't save the officers.
