I've only fought 7 gym leaders so far(8 if you count Corey) but Shelly was the easiest. Too many Bug/Flying types. Rock Blast was all I need. And Volbeat? REALLY?!

It was tough, but after Noel and his almighty Clefairy, Cain feels like a Mario boss. Try using some water types. I used Seismitoad with Muddy Water.

I always have a water type for water and ice moves and aquatic HMs Psychic types for special sweepers Ghost or Dark types for tricksters Flying for Fly and speed Rock and Ground for tanks Steel because its cool as.

Blaziken, Yanmega, Sharpedo, Gengar, Porygon(trained to Porygon Z), Mamoswine. Just my thoughts

Snorlax. Only one weakness, bottomless HP and can still deliver a beating.

Not sure if its available, but Drifblim is one of my favourites. Great HP, reasonable speed and impressive Special Attack.

I recommend Snorlax or Porygon Z. Snorlax is an elite brute who can take a ton. Porygon Z is an extremely effective sweeper. Just pick the one that suits the team best.
