I'm inclined to agree, in hindsight. While I stated as much in Taunt's description, I guess I didn't particularly place it in any order after number 6. Beats Pursuit, anyway. I'll switch their places.

Ah, yeah, I forgot to place TR there. It had occurred to me, but by the time I finished the list I forgot about it. O still don't think it'd be above any of the moves listed, but I can see it sitting in top 15. It is an instrumental playstyle and fairly widespread, though as aove in and of itself it has a somewhat limited number of good users across tiers. Added as an Honourable Mention! And QD is an excellent boosting move, but like the reason I gave for Bullet Punch, it doesn't feature in this list because it is tailor-made for specific Pokémon. It's a move exclusive to the butterflies and moths and a few others; it may be devastating in the hands of tier-specific Pokémon like Volcarona or Lilligant, but it isn't widespread or omni-impactful like the listed moves (yes, I coined that hyphenated word. Problem?) I disagree. WoW, as both of us concur, is less distributed than Toxic and TWave, and has fewer dedicated users across tiers. I don't dispute the impact of Burn as a status, however; that's one reason why I accord Scald a higher place than Toxic and TWave.

I don't remember that chatot being any great trouble. I insisted on soft resetting and breeding for IVs and EV raising my mons, so I just probably outsped and finished that thing off every time; it's terribly frail. It has been a while since I played Reborn though.

So, let's have your thoughts on the top moves in the ORAS tier. These need not be only the best of moves, or only the most used of moves, but rather the best moves that can be the most used. So I'm attempting to rank moves based on their impact on the metagame as well as their distribution as a whole. (Note that these may or may not be what one likes the most; I may like Bullet Punch, and it is certainly a great move, but it has tiny distribution and is famous mostly on Scizor as a precise, almost tailor-made move.) Well, without further ado, here is my opinion: 1. Stealth Rock 2. Knock Off 3. Scald 4. Defog 5. Toxic and Thunder Wave 6. Volt Switch and U-turn 7. Taunt 8. Protect and Substitute 9. Pursuit 10. Recover and its variants And there you have it. Honorable mentions include Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Encore (which is as similarly useful as Taunt, but has a limited disttibution), Rapid Spin, Swords Dance/Bulk Up/Calm Mind/Nasty Plot/Agility etc, Rest (and sleep talk), Baton Pass, several Priority moves, Sleep Powder, Earthquake, Draco Meteor, Will-O-Wisp and Trick Room among others, but for some or other reason, they don't quite make the top 10 in my view (though if it were to happen, EQ would be no.11 because it is common, devastating and impactful enough to warrant the Air Balloon existing almost solely for insurance against it). It's rather anticlimactic in a way, to see that most of these moves aren't cool, high-powered, hard-hitting ones, but oh well, that's the way the game goes. So there we are. My thoughts, of course. I await everyone else's.

Gah! My one weakness! Reveal yourself, trhs!

Well, whimiscott and Florges will benefit, I think. To be frank it is most likely for Laura. There have been so many reasons already outlined for why it suits Laura the most.

Baton Pass Advice Needed... (Rejuvenation)
Ironbound replied to Squire Penguin's topic in Rejuvenation
No issues, friend! Maybe you can use an offensive mawile instead, too. It now learns Sucker Punch, Iron Head and Play Rough naturally, all by level 49 at most, so it already has 3/4 of its best moves with Sheer Force boosting both STABs. You might find it more effective to just lunch holes with Mawile and then clean up with Sharpedo, at least until you get Swords Dance to actually use Baton Pass well. -
Baton Pass Advice Needed... (Rejuvenation)
Ironbound replied to Squire Penguin's topic in Rejuvenation
Let me give you a sincere piece of advice: Do not bulk Sharpedo. Seriously, that thing has some of the worst defenses of any evolved Pokemon. 40/40 bulk is pathetic. I'm surprised you're actually bothering to set up Iron Defenses and pass to Sharpedo; it's quite honestly as counterintuitive as passing Swords Dances to a Shuckle. Naughty is a good nature on Sharpedo, as it increases its most important stat while having a negligible side effect. It even keeps its SpAtk usable, so it can do some damage with special moves/utility moves like Surf. It's also better to have a Spdef negative nature than a PhysDef one, since Sharpedo might hope to live a resisted Aqua Jet or a weak Quick Attack while it gets its speed boosts. I honestly think you should use Sharpedo as a suicidal, all-out attacker and late-game Sweeper towards the end of difficult battles, where it can clean things up before getting killed. Mawile can be put to better use with Sheer Force Iron Head and Play Rough as a wallbreaker, to pave the way for Sharpedo. If anything, better to try and pass Swords Dance to Sharpedo, and not Defense boosts. Sharpedo should not be attempting to take a hit anyways, be it from physical or special attackers. It is the definition of a Glass Cannon. -
The corrupted Pokeball is found in the walls of the Subrailnet underground, the place with the train track puzzle where you first go with the orphans when getting to Chrysolia. You may have noticed that several places along the wall are differently coloured; these places are Rock Smashable, and will reveal a small room each. One of them will contain the House Key which unlocks the Move Relearner in the Onyx ward; another will contain the corrupted Pokeball. Look at the item guide for more detail.

Which TMs should be added in the next episode?
Ironbound replied to Burning Bright's topic in Reborn City
We forget that we still have the entirety of Team Meteor to fight, plus the E4 and the musteriously-inactive-Champion-who-allowed-Meteor-to-do-whatever-they-pleased. I want good TMs, but we won't be getting them all at once. -
Fact (histories, accounts, chronicles, biographies, political histories, and other collections), books on Economics, Philosophy, the workings of the natural world, classic literature across times in English and Telugu, and mostly anything that can be informative and useful. I have read fiction, ranging from things I enjoy like Frederick Forsyth and Jeffrey Archer, to things I once enjoyed when young, like LOTR, to things I never did enjoy but read anyway for the sake of completionism, like that Harry Potter series. But fiction is never really useful, just entertaining if we cannot make better use of our time. I ask this of the next person: what do you like to do to improve yourself?

That's the only reason why Gabite appeared in ground and not Garchomp, and how Magnemite appeared in Electric but not Magnezone yet. Mega Venusaur showed up for Poison, I think, but only regular Venusaur appeared in Grass, if I remember aright.

We've already met on the server many times, but nevertheless, let me welcome you officially to Reborn!

Which TMs should be added in the next episode?

I need those badly. Very badly. My Magnezone and Noivern cry for lack of momentum. -
Which TMs should be added in the next episode?
Ironbound replied to Burning Bright's topic in Reborn City
Dazzling gleam is a nice addition, since Pokemon like Togekiss, Alakazam, Vileplume and Delphox appreciate it. Every Fairy that gets Moonblast may still like it if it is to fight in a Double Battle. -
This new face doesn't look as Halloween-y as all the other monstrosities you've had. In fact it looks mildly constipated, unless I'm missing a reference. Might as well oblige me with a reply, what?

[Resolved] Which Eeveelution Should I Get?
Ironbound replied to Cyanna Cyril's topic in Team Showcase
Use Jolteon. Do not use a bulky eeveelution like Vaporeon or Umbreon or even Sylveon with those pathetic 9/17/18 defensive IVs. It'll not be able to do its job of stomaching hits. Use that good SpAtk and above-average Speed and get a Jolteon. It's frail anyways, so expect it to die a lot, and also don't expect much more from it other than Discharge/Tbolt and a few normal moves until you get a few TMs. But it's the best that thing can give you. You could have espeon, but you already have a Psychic. -
Steel will be glorious. I see a distinct lack of steels in the other videos; Heatran made an appearance in Fire, Excadrill in Ground and Jirachi in Psychic, but nothing notable anywhere else. Magnemite showed up in Electric, but the Lord Magnezone, along with other notable mons like Scizor, Empoleon, Ferrothorn and Genesect, are bound to appear in Steel, since they had not appeared in their other-tyoe videos.

Welcome to Reborn! If you like dogs and history, look no further! If you like letting your mind wander, and then have it disobey you altogether and run off, then look no further either!

Gimmick =/= banned, shitty or skilless moves. My idea of workable gimmicks would be things which can perform a unique, unexpected or uncommon role just as well as their usual roles, even better due to the surprise value. Examples: 1. Baton Pass Mega Scizor: standard fat spdef MegaZor with SD and Roost, and double BP: Bullet Punch and Baton Pass. Instead if running a coverage move, this Mon makes the ideal Passer: it's fat, has recovery, still hits like a truck with its tech-boosted BPs and can not only grab momentum like with U-turn but also suddenly bring in a +2 Lando-T or Kyu-B to commence murderizing everything. Works well to eliminate fairies so Kyu-B can end life with +2 or even higher Outrages. 2. Counter Alakazam and Weavile: Counter + Focus Sash is workable on fast, frail Revenge Killers like Alakazam and Weavile, since they usually can be destroyed by any physical hit, be knocked down to 1HP if their sashes are intact, and proceed to nab a surpise KO against mons they normally could not have, like Scizor. Alakazam has Magic Guard to switch in even on Ro ks and preserve its Sash, whilst Weavile can have Ice Shard to pick the foe off.

Praise The Sun... and Moon - Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon
Ironbound replied to Godot's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
What if their 'huge scoop' just turns out to be an even-more-hideous-than-base-form Mega Vanilluxe? A 500 kg dollop of poop-scoop. I scream at the thought. Or rather, Ice Cream. -
8/10 too glowy and demonic for more. Also unrealistic light sources; half that face ought to be bathed in purple highlight from that eye-light.

Magneton. Yes. It is power. And no, obtaining the power of the Lord Magnezone is not so simple. If you are determined, here is the Way of the Magnet:
