There's nothing much in the second normal vid content wise. Cutesy evolutions and pre-evolutions of what normal 1 had, and a feature of Regigigas and Arceus. The tiny SM reference was cool though. Waiting to see Dragon, now. It's going to have all the borked stuff in it, but I'm not sure if it'll best Steel because I'm obviously biased.

Leafage will probably just be vine whip with a defferent animation. Because it is a bit odd to think of an owl shooting vines from...an orifice? None of the other Grass starters are avian, either, and all have some kind of plant or plant-like appendage visible on them, save for Rowlet, which only has a bowtie. They could have made it a James Bond bowtie which extends into whips for vine whip, bit instead they were creative and gave it the cooler gimmick of shooting leaf-edged feathers from its wings, so there's that. I want to see the villainous team now.

I would pick Sun if I would ever buy a 3DS and spend money on buying Pokemon games. I'm only interested in the competitive aspect anyways. But yeah, the lion is cooler than the bat appearance wise, but I would not sleep on the bat either; could be the next broken threat. And I agree with Godot; Rowlet gets fancy points for the bowtie. Is urw hope that it won't be shitty like Noctowl or Meganium. The fire cat is my bet tbh, because it may well end up a Tiger to follow tradition of the Chinese Zodiac yadda yadda, and a Dark/Fire Tiger would be awesome as hell. I don't like cats. There are a damn sight too many cats around here. The only way I'd like the fire carry starter is if it became a Tiger and if it was competitively bowler l viable; those are even more awesome than lions. Dark/Fire is decent. Mega Houndoom for life though. Also yeah dogs over cats any day. Weenie?

Yes. No. Maybe. I like Mega Pyroar more than Moon Bat. That thing is overly complicated and looks like a legless Mega Salamence crossed with a truncated Yveltal on drugs, which then went and mated with a deformed Golbat until this abomination was created. I'll forgive it everything if it turns out to be Dark/Fairy and better Levitate. Micky?

Also, I don't think those Rock barriers are inexplicable. They could be a coral reef or coral chain of attols/islands. Those are explaianable as forming around an island in rings like that, depending on the topography. But yes, the graphics are awesome, I am glad we have a first person-ish camera view, actual human proportions in the overworld instead of chibi forms, and of course, the tropics are paradise. The Professor, if the fat guy in the blue vest and yellow flowered shirt thingy is indeed the Professor, is badass. Looks like a retired Samurai on vacation, which he probably is. I mean come on, a Professor who doesn't wear a labcoat or suit is awesome by default! Also to be noted is that we are introduced to the Hawaii-ish region by a cousin. Not Mom, or even Dad, but Cousin. This is huge. Unexplained orphan much? Or is Mom the E4 and Dad the villain? My views on the starters: Rowlet is adorable and has a leaf bowtie. +30 appeal. Unfortunately it has a bad typing, but we'll see how it turns out. Popplio is even more adorable, and it goes "BWARK". Enough said. I hope the sea lion gets all the circus moves, like Belly Drum, Acrobatics, Encore, Rollout, etc. Litten is unremarkable. If it ends up as another Dark/Fire like it looks I shall have pleasure in destroying it with my Mega Houndoom. Too many damn cats. Speaking of too many cats, the Sun legend is just Mega Pyroar. Awesome, but already done as a concept. Moon bat is just so....confusing. It is overdetailed in my view and doesn't really look that good. I hope it's Dark/Fairy with Levitate, because that'd be awesome, despite it looking like a legless Mega Salamence gone wrong with a Yveltal and a Golbat. I'm hoping for a Dolphin Pokemon, above all else. If we don't get one now we are never likely to get it.

However, Goodra and stuff like Gastrodon might have a chance of a niche in OU because Volcanion is everywhere. Rise of the slugs much? Also I am unhappy with the meta in general tbh. OU becoming stagnant and full of FAT blobs, a LOT of good mons dropping into the limbo of BL, Zapdos' exit and sylveon's entry messing up UU, Ubers still being unfun with that fat lava lizard everywhere, and I don't even know what's up with RU. I bet played NU or PU so count those out. I think I will just sit back and wait until S&M dump more stuff into this mess. I agree with Jeri's sentiment: "Dammit Stallgon".

I am not pleased with the invasion of fat blobby mons. I am also unhappy with the way OU staples are being shunted to BL or worse and how OU is slowly becoming fatter and rather lamer. *mutters angrily about Volcanion*
