It seems to me that this team is meant to be used competitively. Forgive me if you had wanted to use it casually, but the following criticism is based on the assumption that you actually intend to use this team on the ladder and in tournaments. First off: there's a line, thin but distinct, between a workable gimmick and a bad one. There is also a very good reason why weather archetypes other than sand and the rare rain are quite truly dead in this generation. In fact, even rain is not so common: sand being usable as a play style simply because it can achieve a great core in just two Pokémon (Hippo/Ttar and Drill). As for your team itself...like it has been mentioned already, the best move in the game, Stealth Rock, completely destroys you, limiting the switch in and stay power of your setters and punishing your sun turns. This is also a good time to mention that team synergy is nil in this case. You do not have a way to deal with threats like the Lati twins, Charizard X (which benefits from your own sun), opposing Charizard Y, Talonflame which is everywhere, the Sand duo which can whittle you down, Heatran, electric types like Mega Manectric, Raikou and Thundurus and, let's face it, more than half of OU. You may like using things like Vileplume, Ninetales and Heliolisk, but there's an excellent reason why they fail in OU: they are outclassed. I do not believe that sun is a very viable archetype in OU anymore. The only way to abuse sun currently is to use Charizard Y. It itself demands a huge amount of support to eliminate faster threats, keep rocks off, remove the Latis and other things that it can't burn through. It is not even a very viable sun supporter because it cannot hold a Heat Rock and it is prone to hazards. You are not even packing Roost on yours. (And btw, in case you didn't use the damage calculator available on Showdown and also on Google if you just searched for it, Fire Blast from Zard Y does KO Lando-T, making HP ice one of the worst options for that slot. You may as well use Roost or Dragon Pulse if you're very scared about dragons - which you should be, because you have no way of dealing with them either) Anyway, the best you can do with sun in OU is to use it alongside Sand on a bulky offense or balance archetype. I recommend pairing a (modified and with Roost) Charizard Y with a Choice Scarf Pursuit Tyranitar, a Sand Rush Rapid Spin Excadrill, a Ferrothorn for Rocks of your own, and using something like Latias/Latias, Starmie as an alternative Spinner, Rotom-W as a pivot, Keldeo because it pairs well with this type of team and helps with Bisharp and Tyranitar or, if you are determined to use multiple fire types, a Quiver Dance Volcarona or a Talonflame or a Heatran of any sort (just not all of them. You will fall to bulky dragon, ground and strong water types). You are also free to replace Ferrothorn with chlorophyll Venusaur; it will affect your synergy but it can pull it off, especially if you have Sunny Day on it. Charizard Y alone cannot support sun for long, and Ninetales is just not viable in OU. Just make sure that you have Stealth Rock on your Tyranitar in that case (i.e. convert your Tyranitar into a support set, or better still, use a Hippowdon) and mandatorily use Rapid Spin on Excadrill, or, if you are also using a Lati, Defog on that. Sets and elaborated strategies can be found at www.smogon.com to help you. Have a nice day. I hope I have been able to help you. I also hope that my criticism is well received; I am not a believer in sugarcoating.

Why is Garchomp purple in the anime?
Ironbound replied to HyperspaceFury's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
Welcome back. As for your question, there's almost always a slight distinction in colouration between the games and the show. In some cases the show does have a more pronounced distinction in its animations. It is possible that garchomp is one such case. Or perhaps it's shiny; either way, garchomp is one Pokémon whose normal and shiny colourations are very similar and apt to confusion. I can't give a better answer because: A. It must have been years and years since the show and its plot (if it has one) ceased to interest me. B. I am partially colourblind. -
Alas,it is I. TRHS?
-
Why do I discover this only to have to answer a question about the precociousness of children and their obsession with anything loaded in things that give them a sugar rush? I suppose that not only answers the previous question but is itself a question for the next person. Ha! That's labour-saving at its finest for you!

I've dealt with my share of bullshit, familial issues and plenty of idiots and rascals who have tried to damage or sabotage me and my life, some even in high places. I hold the belief that life is a beautiful gift, that will always have at least one rose so enthralling that one endures even an ocean of thorns for its sake. To contemplate suicide is unbelievable to me, and I should say that to think of relinquishing this world merely for the sake of a class getting suspended, and that too because of some random lowbrows who have nothing to do with you, is not quite the deal, is it? Please do not entertain suicide. It is never a solution. Be brave, be logical and be defiant. Life, after all, is by definition the struggle of a being to grow and develop under circumstances that try to prevent it. Your problems are definitely your own, and I cannot compare them with mine or anyone else's, but that is all the more reason to throw them down and stand victorious. After all, even in your case, you didn't even do something wrong to feel guilt about. Why not be happy in the things that you have and keep hope for a better future? Strive to have that goal, let it give meaning to life. Know that we are all friends here who wish you well. On a sterner note, suicide is murder. No one has the right to murder anyone, especially not murder oneself.

If you could take 1 pokemon off of a gym leader's team...
Ironbound replied to doombotmecha's topic in Reborn City
Probably Charlotte's Volcarona or Darmanitan, in the earlier versions. They were a pain. -
It's indeed a good thing to be more stringent with regard to explicit or lewd comments and jokes. While I do not presuppose to criticize them or their makers, I do think it better for Reborn's main chatroom to be a cleaner, more comfortable place for all of us. Call me a prude if you wish, but I am straitlaced when it comes to certain things.

You can choose one OP power, with a fatal weakness, what would it be?
Ironbound replied to Klemeltios's topic in Onyx Arcade
Don't we already have the powers of our mind? Imagination, empathy, willpower, intelligence, conscience? What more do we need? With the right application of effort, we already can achieve even the seemingly impossible. We are also plagued with enough cancerous weaknesses: hatred, malice, laziness, apathy, narrowness and greed, to name but a few. We hardly need to create more castles in the air; I should think that if I could, I would strive to attain the power of self-mastery; for there is no force like that of a fully realized being, and no weakness as fatal to that being as an incomplete or tinted understanding of oneself, one's duties, morals, passions and capabilities. Man, in my view, is intended to be the most advanced being on earth, with a view to aid those less fortunate than him. That we have instead ravaged and exploited it and its inhabitants (including others of our own) is proof enough that the number of those incomplete is vastly greater than those who are in control of themselves and know what is expected of them in life. -

Banned because it's getting boring and nothing is being done to revive interest.

That bittersweet feel when you achieve a significant goal, but have incurred not only a large opportunity cost, but also end up wnding one of your largest motivators. The question arises, until the next quest is determined: what now?

If you could own one Pokemon, what would it be?
Ironbound replied to Another Felix's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
Magnezone, because it is -clearly- superior. I'm surprised I didn't say this already. Well, more so because I am fascinated by inanimate, mechanical or non-biological Pokémon, sentient beings who are not only alive and conscious but also extremely intelligent. Such Pokémon as Magnezone, Starmie, Genesect, Metagross, PorygonZ and Deoxys appeal to me, as do the abilities Analytic, Download and Technician. I suppose that the concept of alien intelligence appeals to me, particularly since I draw a parallel with calmness, analysis, rationality and the absence of emotional or sentimental considerations as a governing factor of pure thought or imagination. As for their uses...well, that's up to the imagination, isn't it? All that pure thought should help me with my job as an accountant and a student of economics, or at the very least, prove to be interesting companions... -
