  1. My condolences. I hope your visit goes peacefully.
  2. ...well, I suppose this is now a thing. Seeing as it has been some time since I've established a presence here, and after receiving encouragement from a few friends, I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread to post some of the stuff I draw. I know a general art thread exists, but seeing as precedents exist, I think I'm within my ambit to start this sort of thing here. For those who don't know me, I'm a student of accounts and economics who, among other things, also draws and paints, ranging from cartoons to watercolours to canvas. The general idea is, of course, that I use this space to put up the drawings and other stuff I create, for those who are interested to view. As of now, I do not have much time on my hands, and it'll be that way for a couple of months, but eventually, depending on my circumstances and the amount of support this gets, I plan to accept requests and commissions. For now, this'll remain a gallery of sorts, with probable weekly posts or something along that line. All patronage is appreciated! ---------------------------------- For a start, here is something that some might remember: Scizor-Man? ------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3. Happy birthday, Sini. Wishing you a great year ahead.
  4. The only complaint I have with Reborn, at least as of ep 15, is that it is now so much more difficult to obtain a Magnezone. I understand that it was thought too much power at the point (after all, Magnezone is clearly superior)... But God, getting that Yureyu Key was torturous. The fact that we can have only one Ditto, and that therefore breeding for the right Hidden Power and perfect IVs on genderless Pokemon is a veritable nightmare, is also of note. *looks at 200+ magnemites hatched before obtaining one with the requisite 30/12/31/30/31/30 IVs* Eh, I'll take that back. It's just my obsession with perfection.
  5. How can Dhanush be here and not I? Right, Dhan?
  6. I agree. It has been greatly useful to everyone who wants to take Reborn more seriously than a casual playthrough (which given Reborn is actually difficult if not impossible at some or other point if one doesn't breed and raise competitive Pokemon)
  7. I have a preference for light-based moves. In no particular order, I like moves such as Charge Beam, Lustre Purge, Dazzling Gleam, Light of Ruin, Signal Beam, Tri Attack, Psybeam, Aurora Beam, Mirror Shot, Techno Blast and so on. Most preferred OU move? FLASH CANNON! Why I like light-based moves is a story for another time.
  8. While this is wonderful, it will make me and my competitive brethren even more ethically monstrous. We are the people who remorselessly force Pokemon to breed, often with a gelatinous blob, and after inhumane treatment, simply dump them into the wild or the abyss known as Wonder Trade. We do the same evils to the poor, newly hatched Lv1 baby as well, often successively and across many generations, without a care or concern for any of them, all in a bid for better IVs, the perfect Nature...for perfection. How much more heartless would it make us seem, if each Pokemon was unique in its appearance based on its IVs? A baby with poor speed might look lame, a baby with bad defense might look thinner or frailer...a Timid gible, shy and easily afraid, when we wanted an Adamant one...all of them, ruthlessly ravaged and subsequently discarded...Why, this makes our 'selection' of the 'perfect' Pokemon as bad as Nazism, in a way! It'd be a cool idea, but I don't want to end up feeling like I was one of the monsters who created Mewtwo (even though I probably already am.) But, for my purposes, I agree with Red that visible IV and EV quantities would be a great boon. It'd make my...ah, 'selections' much easier.
  9. Hello, and welcome to Reborn, Kefix. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here.
  10. My dreams are my goals; there can be no distinction between the two, for any variance implies that the dream one possesses lacks conviction and is merely idle fantasy. Personally, I loathe the phrases 'would be', 'if I could', 'could have been' and the like. It suggests lack of control or lack of planning over one's own fate, which, if true, is tantamount to self-defeat in my book. For those interested, and since the topic concerns it, I state my goals: to establish an independent career as a chartered accountant as a foundation, to pursue higher education in the fields of economics and banking, to enter the Civil Services and work towards the betterment of my nation, the way I see it needs. I do not feel obliged to detail my ambitions further; any more talk and it loses power. I also believe in forever pursuing knowledge, and forever learning and developing one's skills to mastery, be it art, literature, music, history, or any or all of them- what prevents us from learning? I would not state these if I was not confident of working towards and ultimately achieving them; empty words are again an acknowledgement of self-defeat. Let our dreams be shown to the world by our actions; let them not remain mere ideas, let them fructify into achievements. Let this post of mine also stand as a promise that I make, to myself.
  11. I suppose that such small children are too innocent to realise the depth of the matter, and in a way it might be considered good that they are so strongly aware of good and evil at that age, but I must say that for a child to punish an 'enemy' when they're down is not behaviour I would encourage. Victory is when one should be merciful, or at the very least magnanimous. Especially in what is basically a tag game. Also, I do think that a child who is, say, five years old or so should be taught to be sufficiently aware of what to do in a serious situation, such as when someone is hurt. It is not very much to expect them to register concern and call for help, be it from their parents or another teacher or even from a passer-by. It is certainly disturbing, at least to me, if a child should be so ruthless and/or unable to distinguish between something that's a game and something that's seriously gone wrong. Of course, in no way would this diminish one's love for children (since kids do indeed do the damnedest things sometimes) but perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to talk to them about behaviour in general. This is of course just my two cents' worth. I understand perfectly that my assessment of the situation may be tinted, and that my opinion might be utter nonsense.
  12. ...your point? Anyway, that's less creative, and less apt, than calling a Sceptile 'Jade' or calling an Onix 'Onyx', since agates are not necessarily purple or blue, like Tentacruel. Or if you meant to draw a comparison other than that of colour, I still fail to see what a lump of coloured rock has anything to do with a jellyfish. Since we seem to be on about that sort of thing, I may as well call my Kingdra as 'Queendra' since it doesn't like gender stereotypes.
  13. This is amusing. What is not is the inane and absolutely irrational name for a fire-dog. Go on, tell me why you think a Ferrothorn named Tribulus doesn't make sense. For those unaware, 'tribulus' is Latin for a caltrop (or spike, the sharp things that are used in the move 'spikes') and is also the scientific name of a genus of thorny desert plants. What better a name for a thorny plant-monster that is clad in, and uses, Spikes?
  14. This is rather difficult to explain. I started following Reborn from ep. 7. I started playing it myself from ep. 11 or 12, can't remember. I made a profile here last March, so that'd be ep. 14 I suppose. And I must've been lurking here for much longer than the time I have been active, probably from ep.12 onwards. What bracket do I fall into? There should be a category for people who have lurked here for years but did not surface for a long time.
  15. I don't see a Magnezone. I'm disappointed. All else is irrelevant. I do think you can use a much better flying type than Noctowl (like POWERFUL STARAPTOR or noivern) and I do think you can replace Manectric with Heliolisk, which is faster and has much better coverage in the form of volt switch (which it can learn naturally), surf, dark pulse, grass knot, etc. Or just have six Magnezones. That's also fine. I assume you're not interested in perfectly breeding all the competitive Pokemon you can find, like a certain someone...so this should be fine.

    My team

I see a Magnezone. I automatically approve. All else is irrelevant. Oh, and quite seriously, you can consider getting Sucker punch on that toxicroak instead of venoshock, which is redundant with sludge bomb/poison jab, maybe teaching typhlosion moves of different types, and replacing zap cannon (which is horribly inaccurate) with the much more useful Thunder Wave or Charge Beam. Trust me, I'm a Magnezone expert. Also, this is likely a casual playthrough of a game, isn't it? As long as you have fun and respect the Magnezone, you can use any team you like. Reborn usually needs you to use more than six Pokémon, so feel free to raise both Sharpedo and Walrein and anything else you may need, such as a good rock type (Golem or Tyrantrum, maybe?) or something similar. A word of advice: it's against the rules to double post, that is, to post something immediately after your own post. If you want to make a change to an earlier post, use the 'Edit' option at the bottom of your post instead of making a new one. Have a nice day.
  17. Welcome to Reborn! That's a very unusual introduction you've got there. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here. Do drop by our server for to let us know you better.
  18. Happy birthday, Murdoc. Wishing you a great year ahead!
  19. Welcome to Reborn, Zolf. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here.
  20. Hello Jesse, welcome to Reborn! I'm sure you'll have a great stay here.
  21. Interesting. I might've remembered better if my present self had given more importance to my past self. Before Reborn, I used the internet even less than I do now. I never did have a Facebook account until recently; neither was I much for games or videos or anime, so apart from a relatively small amount of time spent on those, I mostly used it for research, to learn new things (mostly irrelevant to my current career, but knowledge for its own sake is fine too) and when I used to write for newspapers. Of course, I did spend time on PS and had a considerable competitive presence there. I also had a DeviantArt account (now defunct) to which I contributed. You're never going to find it.
  22. "Don't be a terrorist and don't do evil to others or to the planet". We need more warnings. Mankind is parasitic to the planet. My question for the next person: what is your question to yourself?
  23. It depends on which play through I did. Since I am a habitual perfectionist, I only bothered with the more competitively useful Pokémon, and as soon as I had full access to the breeding mechanics, I got around to raising an armada of perfectly IV-ed and EV-ed monsters. (It is kind of heartless, I suppose, since I don't assign individuality to any of them and view them mostly as a tool, if honed to meet my standards, or else discard them. Yes, I know it's a game, but to each their own kind of satisfaction.) So, it'd be an exaggeration to term any of them as 'lifesavers' but I suppose they do their job, which is what is expected. On my Steel mono, Empoleon, Metagross, Forretress and Magnezone were useful, since together they resisted almost everything and could support the team ably, allowing Bisharp and Lucario to clean up afterwards. On my regular play through(s), Greninja, which I picked first and bred first, pulled its weight well. A klink and a pancham which I caught only to be used against Florinia came in useful, since at that time I was underequipped to deal with grass types. When Gardevoir was available before Kiki, it was useful against her. Curse Cofagrigus with maximum investment in physical bulk was able to dispose of Solaris's overleveled Garchomp. Beyond that point, there were no significant difficulties until earlier versions of Charlotte. Arcanine and Kingdra were a help then.
  24. Hi there, Thar. It's good to see another long-time fan of Reborn finally join the community! I'm sure you'll have a great time here. Do check out the server for some nice chats.
