  1. Tamriel? Enjoy your slavery, devil worshippers, giant rat infestations, cliff racers, dragons and thousands year old elf supremacists lol. I like Tamriel but living in it would suck. No electricity, so easy to die, and everybody is a jerk. Sonic's world would be cool if Robotnik wasn't threatening to blow it up all the time and there wasn't random floating platforms and spikes everywhere.
  2. I consider N the best pokemon rival, with Cyrus as best villain(although Ghestis is my favorite). In fighting games, it'd have to be Rugal Berstein, Yuuki Terumi/Hazama, and Quan Chi. Geese Howard, BB Hood, Jedah, Heihachi, Nightmare and M. Bison are up there too. For RPG:, Ramirez from Skies of Arcadia, Dark Force from the original Phantasy Star saga and Sho Minamimoto from TWEWY. Robotnik is a classic one for sure, as is Bowser.
  3. Oh do they? Now that's pretty interesting if so..bulbapedia makes no mention of it though.
  4. EV training is easier in Reborn than it is in any pregen 6 game IMO since you get the power items so early on. Speed training especially is CAKE and takes like 15 minutes max.. Gen 6 sure did spoil people Oh this is a minor oversight, but after rescuing Heather as you're leaving Sigmund's office, the part where Anna goes "Come on ____ you're such a slowpoke, you could be a slowbro - no even a slowking" you're positioned like you came out of the hallway with the computer locks and not from the left corner stairs where you actually were. It's really silly looking. Also Anna having Megaslowbro would be a nice call back to that line.
  5. Scraggy has always been and will always be cooler than Pangoro.
  6. I think they're pretty cute myself, I like Ariel the most although I got all their types wrong. Elliot sounds more like an electric leader name and Ariel seems a perfect fit for flying. Olivia was pretty obvious.
  7. What would their type/movelist/abilities/stats be? I'll start off with an old favorite: Mario Normal type Prevolution: Baby Mario Alternate forms: Fire Mario(normal/fire), Ice Mario(normal/ice), Cape Mario(normal/flying) Tanooki Mario(Normal/rock) Megaevolution: Mega Mario Abilities: Power Up(changes form depending on held items) Normal form HP: 70 Attk: 110 DEf: 80 spA: 110 spdf: 95 spd: 80 Fire Mario HP:90 attk: 80 def:75 spA: 120 spdf: 100 spd: 80 Ice Mario HP: 90 attk: 75 def: 90 spA: 100 spdf:120 spd: 80 Cape Mario HP:90 attk:120 def:80 spa:80 sp: 90 spd: 95 Tanooki Mario HP:90 attk:90 def:120 spa:75 spdf:90 spd:85 Mega Mario HP:110 attk:130 def: 90 spa:100 spdf:100 spd: 70 Attacks Start: sky uppercut Start - Bounce Start - pay day Start: growth lvl 5 - stomp lvl 8 - helping hand lvl 14- ember, powder snow lvl 18 - Dizzy Punch lvl 25 - fling lvl 29 - assurance lvl 34 - metronome lvl 39 - flame burst, avalanche lvl 45 - Mega punch lvl 50 - fire blast lvl 55 - Last Resort
  8. Those look incredibly badass. I also love the new paralysis animation. Also on Sirius team, I'm sure Floatzel is the sole reason he survived the Tazan lake incident. I think his theme is supposed to be sneaky/snister pokemon since he's a very backstabby and manipulative character. Seviper and Floatzel are both associated with typically sneaky animals(snake and weasel), Honchkrow is pretty obvious in that connection, Probopass...okay that one I don't get, chandlure's line steal souls, but Manetric Idk and Hitmontop isn't really sneaky at all. So maybe I'm off base, or it's possible he stole the unfitting ones.
  9. Donphan should be able to hurt Chandlure pretty good with magnitude if it has Sturdy. i'm not sure if Reborn is using ORAS' movesets, but if they are he learns earthquake at level 43 if you have common candies on board. That should KO Chandelure no problem. doublade isn't that scary but you're probably approaching him wrong, I'd recommend a fire type so you can easily deal with Trevenant as well but Emolga is fast enough to where a field boosted electro ball (just beware of possible negative boosts off broken factory) should be able to take him down to red at the very least, unless your emolga just has a bad nature/IVs. Acrobatics should deal a number on Trevenant as well. Doublade is sloooooow.and his special defense/HP are weak. On my poison.electric run two petal dances from Venusaur would KO him him. I'd argue he's Shade's weakest pokemon really Banette is troublesome, and it's best to have a dark type for him. Rotom I feel is the only other really difficult pokemon for your team, but Venusaur should be able to handle him especially with support. Really the problem is that your team is just underleveled and you're being too brutish in your approach, simply going for max damage off types. I think a fast special attacker would help you too. I feel you don't need both mightyena AND Skuntank, especially since stunky is annoying to raise. I'd just go with Mighty although skuntank is better long run. But there are better dark types than both.
  10. Lol at Fern's real life counterpart being a scrub. I love hearing about the users the characters in Reborn were based off. there should be a archive or something on them.
  11. Remember that crtis or not, attacks still have a value "roll" so to speak so that depending on said roll the same attack might deal slightly less or more damage next time when used. This is true for like almost any turn based strategy game and has its roots in traditional pen and paper RPGs(rolling a die to determine damage) A common way to notice this is when an attack brings an opponent down to just yellow which should be over half, then next turn the same attack is used and the opponent survives with just a sliver of HP. This means your first roll was higher than the second. You also have instances where an attack brings an opponent to just a sliver of health from full, the leader uses an ultra potion to restore their health all the way, you use the same attack and this time it KOs them. Again, better roll this time so slightly better damage. Now to better understand how damage in pokemon games work, you have to look at the damage formula(image credit to bulbapedia, apologies for the text color). warning: Math ahead The level is the level of the attacker, the attack being the physical(or special depending on the move) of the user, the defense being the phys/spcl defense of the receiver, Base being BP(so rock smash will have 40 BP). For the modifier part of the equation, STAB is same type attack bonus(which is 1.5x), type is SE/NE damage bonus(so from 0 to 4x) critical is from 1(no crit) to 1.5x(critical gen 6, previous gens it's 2.0x), other is held items/field effects/weather/doubles/triples, and random ranges from 0.85 to 1, effectively acting as the "die" so to speak. Let's do an example: we'll use a level 50 Infernape using rock smash against a level 50 Magneton, So the first part of the equation, we have 2x50+10 divided by 250 which comes out to 0.44. Let's say Infernape's attk is 140, while Magneton's defense is 120. So 140 divided by 120 gives you approximately 1.17(rounding off). Rock smash's BP is 40, and then you add two to that. So for the Parenthesis segment we have 0.44 x 1.17 x 40 + 2 which comes out to approximately 22.59. Now for the modifier. Infernape gets a STAB so that's 1.5x, Magneton is weak to fighting so 2.0x, no critical so 1x, no item or field effects so 1x,. So we're looking at 1.5 x 2 x 1 x1 [value from 0.85 to 1.0].. The modifier would be ranged from 2.55 to 3.00 Now all that's left to due is to stick the two together. 22.59 x [value from 2.55 to 3.00]. The result is rounded down to the nearest whole number. So rock smash from Infernape to Magneton in this case would deal between 58 and 68 points of HP damage raw. To determine how a critical in gen 6/Reborn would go, you'd use x1.5 instead of 1x in the modifier equation. which would bring the modifier range to 3.83-4.5. and the resulting damage ranging from 86 to 102. A bad roll can easily determine the difference between a fatal hit or not. Note that Magenton's HP is miserable, so unless it's got maxed out HP EVs a rock smash followed by a critical is very likely to KO it. Also criticals IGNORE defensive boosts/screens and attack penalties, meaning that those are straight up removed from the equation if they do occur.(which is stupid but w/e).
  12. Sirius is using his Chandelure trick to affect the game developers IRL so that Team meteor's plan isn't thwarted. But yeah, talk about a stroke of bad luck. So many health issues with the team is really worrisome.
  13. Learned how wonderful destiny bond is in singleplayer. I never used it much before since it seemed too gimmicky but if you pull it off it can remove any difficult opponent.
  14. On the soothe bell, there was this rather big misconception that soothe bell increases the rate of happiness gain via walking, but that wasn't true due to the way rounding off worked. It still works for everything else, but not walking.
  15. Okay wait time out, WTF @ Aster. It's like this dude's team is tailor made to screw over flying runs. This guy is stupidly powerful. Literally all but one of his pokemon have something SE against flying types. Two of those are past your current level cap each holding a life orb. Then the last pokemon that doesn't have anything SE against flying is Milotic of all things :[ I managed to beat him after like 4-5 tries, but it was mainly due to Togekiss getting REALLY lucky off pretty much every move. Only thing is now it's overlevelled lol. >>>> Holy crap, Blake got WRECKED. Gotham sets up sunny day, Jt goes to town with heat wave. One-shot everybody but Frosslass who avoided the first heat wave but got demolished by the second. Only Gotham got Ko'd. >>>> You know, the dialogue that never fails to get a chuckle out of me in Terra's gym is the statue one. "Press the switch? Who wouldn't? Someone who doesn't have a millennium badge, that's who!" Also the sign in Lavender town:"Why are you reading me? Gross." I beat Mewtwo with just 2 attempts, and without Drifter too. I managed a pretty sweet strategy, first using Nazca to trick an iron ball Mewtwo and take away his leftovers, followed by a psychic. Then I had Gotham set up sunny, with Jt hitting him with heat wave and a flamethrower to finish him off. Terra kind of has me worried though since a lot of her pokemon have stone edge. Anyway, the team I used for Terra was: Jt - lvl 69 Hops - lvl 61 Seattle - lvl 65 Nazca - lvl 66 Drifter - lvl 63 Gotham - lvl 70 Terra was definitely one of the hardest leaders so far, I'd say she was probably 3rd hardest(though Aster and Archer were harder so probably 5th hardest actual fight). She has stone edge or blizzard on ALL her pokemon except Claydol, who gets a field boosted psychic instead. Really CLAYDOLLBUNNY exploding is the best case scenerio because the thing is a massive headache to take down otherwise and willw ear your team out hard. HIPHOPOTAMUS and the infamous SWAGSIRE were giving me a lot of problems too especially since Hops' bullet seed would just miss the kill and screw us over. I was able to beat Garchomp only because it decided to use draco meteor on Drifter and suffered a destiny kill because of it. Some people say Terra's easy but I think she's one of the tougher leaders of Reborn.
  16. I Will Burn My Dread Okay so one was kind of tough, it took me at least 3 failed attempts but 4th time I finally got her. At least this went way better than my psychic/ice run against Charlotte...she took me an hour then. I decided to pull out and grind an old friend who never really saw any action, and boy did he shine this match. Vega(Swanna) lvl 65 Gotham(Crobat) lvl 65 Seattle(Pelipper) lvl 65 Goyle(Noivern) lvl 66 Togekiss lvl 66 Drifter(Drifblim) lvl 62 I open with Vega and Gotham, with Gotham setting up a rain dance and Vega a tailwind. Typhlosion tries solarbeam(lol) and Darminatan goes for a flare blitz which Gotham survives. Now Typhlosion can't do much this turn so I have Vega use dive(his only offensive move...yeah) on Darminitan's spot thinking that acrobatics will finish him and thus get a solid shot on Rotom who's surely to replace him, but Darm survives and manages to take out Gotham. I'm slightly miffed I lost Gotham so early but he did set up rain so that's good. Goyle takes his spot and uses hurricane on Typhlosion which does a good amount but doesn't kill him. Darminitan gets KO'd by Vega and I forgot what Typhlosion did at this point(hidden power I think) but it doesn't KO him .right now it's 5-5, one loss each. Rotom, kept messing me up previous attempts and this time was no different, the guy simply hits my team way too hard for comfort. I had Vega use dive again, which cause both Typhlosion AND Rotom's attacks to miss! Goyle finishes off Typhlosion bringing the score to 5-4. Right here i kind of get fuzzy on details, I do remember rotom coming out and getting switched out to Delphox who gets KO'd by either Vega or Togekiss. Volcarona gets KO'd too.. Vega and Goyle eventually both get KO'd as well, along with my Rain ending and the field catching on fire. 3-2 Her last two are ninetales and Rotom, and I have Togekiss and Drifter out. Drifter soaks a hit from Ninetales and destiny Kills Rotom(YES) and Togekiss uses ancient power which deals a good amount. I have Seattle make a late appearance to cancel out the burning field with Togekiss finishing her off. One of the tougher gyms for sure, although not as bad as Serra
  17. That's true and what I'm hoping for. I'm having trouble finding Hawlucha though, does he only show up during the day? I'm considering skipping him as I'm losing patience lol. I found a level 64 Staraptor WITH Close combat and freakin knocked it out on a nuzzle with a good roll. Sooo mad because it's been like 40 minutes and I still haven't seen another one. Also the level spike between Samson and Charlotte really blows, I always feel underleveled against her. NEW MEMBER: Falco(Staraptor)lvl 61 Intimidate Impish -brave bird -final gambit -take down -final gambit Staraptor is one of my favorite pokemon, and with a set of great IVs Falco is sure to be a heavy hitter to succeed Masque and Chase as the token vanilla bird of the crew. I'll probably use him after Charlotte and hopefully I can get a heart scale for close combat. Anyway, on to Charlotte's gym. Oh man this one is going to be tough.
  18. I thought Cal was a total jerk at first, but if you watch the volcano scene it's actually Magmortar who kills Medicham on his own, as Cal doesn't tell him to do it, just to catch it. For some reason magmortar just follows Solaris' orders and kills it, which is kind of weird. Though I felt like Cal was dumb in even taking that unnecessary risk and should've told the player earlier the machine was rigged. I kind of stopped hating him after meeting blake though.
  19. It's sonic boom that's the killer, I mean grotle with a couple of curses can handle any physical attack thrown at him, but sonicboom just sort of bulls its way past that and shave off 20 clean per hit. Hopefully the AI derps and just spams rollout. Usually my Mamoswine was 2-shotting on average with ice shard(for pokemon weak to it i mean), but it was holding a nevermeltice and had a good nature/IVs. Icicle crash would be better for the initial hit no doubt but I like shard's priority for the finishing blow. Also while Maoswine is somewhat fast for a heavy ground type, a lot of fliers late game will outspeed him.
  20. luna is already beaten though, but I would've preferred having a fairy move so I can deal with Garchomp/sapphira later on. Drain kiss would be perfect for him actually since it recovers health too but it doesn't learn it for some idiotic reason. I mean Kiss is even in its name I mean it can learn drain punch despite having no arms to punch with yet can't learn draining kiss? smh I do plan on getting Hawlucha, and Gligar. Probably Staraptor too. Seattle is sticking around for a while longer. Right now I'm doing route 2...in the rain. Lol gonna take a while, Lag here I come! >>>>> Alright, route 2 took less time than I thought. Also I really wish Indra's team black would get a nerf. Freakin Snorlax locked me in a struggle match D: I'm about to take on Samson now, shouldn't be too hard. Bringing Togekiss, Hyperflight, Nazca,Gotham, Goyle, and Drifter to this fight. The victory is over 9000!!! Easiest gym match yet. Nazca takes out Hariyama with two psychics(while surviving a knockoff to boot), Gotham solos Lucario/Mienshao/Hawlucha/Blaziken and Drifter destiny KOs Conbkledurr. I didn't even need to use Jt this fight.
  21. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Kurrrrrrrooooooo. Please stay safe, and hopefully things get better for you.
  22. I think bennet being deplorable is fitting for a bug user. Many people, especially girls, find bugs repulsive and weird, which bennet definitely gives off. Bugs are very intense in their focus on completing a task they seek to do(scouting for food, building tunnels etc) , and Bennet is very obsessed with his bug type interest and Luna for better or worse. The metamorphosis aspect of him hasn't reached it's full due yet, but I'm sure we're going to see it later on in the story. I don't think he's that terribly written, like he's unlikable yeah, but he's kind of supposed to be, at least for now.
  23. Even without Archeops this team already feels quite powerful. I managed to scoop up some more scales, although that's mostly due to thinking the shiny stone is in the BB wasteland when it's not...spent like an hour and a half there too. Togekiss has a modest nature now, pretty much swept Bennet singlehandedly. Now it's time for Luna. who is usually pretty easy but Bandersnatch could potentially wreck us. I plan on using Togekiss - lvl 58 Jt(charizard) - lvl 60 Seattle(pelipper) lvl 57 Drifter(driftblim) lvl 57 Hyperflight(Yanmega) lvl 60 Gotham(Crobat) lvl 59 One thing though, why did they change Togepi's type to fairy and then give it only one fairy type offensive move to be learned naturally, that one being the weakest one? It's mind boggling and slightly disappointing. Aside from that though he's fantastic. I think his moveset could use updating though, play rough is more fitting than double edge and dazzling gleam at the very least would've nice. >>>> Guess what just happened. Bandersnatch wrecked my entire team. Stone edge one shots nearly ALL of them. Ugh. Thankfully take 2 went MUCH better. I used detect + U-turn to spend up stone edge's PP. Also this field is supposed to transform in sunlight isn't it? Yeah that doesn't work and another reason Luna is my least favorite gym battle. Well her or Samson since Big Top field is ughghhghgh. Togekiss didn't really shine this match, it was mostly hyperflight and Jt pulling all the labor. Also it just occured to me, yeah I can get the plume fossil, but I have no way to revive it until episode 15's over...lol.
  24. Introducing our newest member: Togepi!!! Thanks to Vlado Vladimir and DBan, togepi has now made it's way into our flock, boasting some very impressive IVs and a sinister mind ready to crush our foes and bring heavenly glory to our crew! Togepi, lvl 1 Careful Serene Grace -growl -nasty plot -charm This dude is going to rock. Off to get haircuts, snax, and vitamins! >>>>> Wooohooo! level 5 Togetic FTW. Just got to figure a good time to evolve...ah ugh i just remembered I have no shiny stones. Oi that means I have to do the bxbysion wasteland part 2.
