Just got to hardy's gym and what the heck is this!!!???? Music notation? Noooooo it's like alien speak. I actually turned the game off haha. Yeah another time,  this is basically a classroom lesson.

Man episode 18 is craaaazy so far. That "one" fight was brutal, I was getting super salty about it too lol. I almost won once but didn't realize I still had a pokemon left, earthquake'd my volcarona and proceeded to die to the last pokemon. UGH. Oddly enough the last fight actually glitched out on me(I believe psychic terrain had something to do with it). But at that point I just wanted to get it over with lol, which was easy since the AI wasn't doing anything.

I did kind of see this happening though, in regards to a particular somebody. But yeah some pretty interesting stuff is happening. 

Yikes emo amaria is really unlikable huh? I'm in the worse timeline apparently. I like nice amaria a lot more, though no I still dislike her gym even if it's pretty and has good music. The battle was still pretty easy though, 3 tries but I did have to change my lead since starmie was just too fast and I didn't want to lose toge before setting off e-terrain, so first 2 attempts were me trying to lead with toge and resetting when it didn't work out. Then I realized I could just sucker punch her with skuntank lol. Cryogonal shut down kingdra and ludicolo, tsareena tanked megaswampert(barely, thankfully I changed her -def nature to an adamant one earlier today) and beat it(his sprite looks cool btw), Deliverence is tanky as she was able to barely survive a high jump kick from Megacham, though it did her little good as she used curse oddly enough. Wishiwashi I tried to KO with tsareena but power whip missed(of course) so I just had weezing destiny bond it. No way I'm getting swept by satan's fish school.

So now to ep 18 content, which I have yet to ever touch or even look at. Looking forward to best boy.

I forgot how unfair the Eustace fight is. Ironically harder than Titania, since you can't heal in between.

Beat Titania! Took about 5-6 tries. I actually figured out a good strategy against her.

-Lead with togedamaru, set up electric field(because fairy tale field is worst field right guys?), it dies to a-slash's earthquake + hail

-have medicham use brick break as A-slash would always use aurora veil. Easy KO

-klefki comes out next, I used choice band swampert to OHKO him with earthquake(klefki leads with calm mind), and on a bad roll he dies to hail anyway

-scizor is easy, volcarona heat wave FTW. This is why setting up electric terrain is important

-empoleon is annoying because scald would end up wasting precious turns needed for electric terrain. If scald doesn't burn Medicham's HJK insta kos, otherwise medicham dies next turn and volcarona has to finish off the penguin. HJK missing is like the worst timeline lol.

-excadrill is a right monster on the fairy tale field so I really need e-terrain to still be out when he shows up. Volcarona beats him in one hit.

-Aegislash is annoying. Or rather titania's rampant potion abuse makes it annoying. I kept messing up here either by mistiming the field expiration or untimely crits or whatever. Donphan is strong enough to 2HKO aegis even when in shield mode but titania's potion spam kind of messed this approach up, + the hail breaking sturdy. Then I realized the easy solution would be to send someone like Tsareena to basically die/get some hits in, revealing aegislash's sword mode where  he gets OHKO'd by donphan . Since sturdy allows donphan to survive whatever aegislash throws out initially it's a guranteed kill. Basically I was doing it wrong by leading against aegislash with donphan, instead I should've led with someone else. Wish I realized that sooner, it would've been a fairly easy fight if I had. Also titania's AI is weird because she kept spamming ultra potions on aesgislash despite it taking like 10% damage if that lol.

toumaline desert + scrapyard is probably one of my favorite areas in Reborn. And I'll admit it, Taka makes the trip even better. He's got some enjoyable dialogue.

I freakin HATE Taka. One of my most disliked Reborn characters. His  minior swept my entire team. Really wasn't expecting him to jump me in the desert.

ugh jerk.

So is alolatales being Ame's spirit pokemon canon?

Adrienne down!!! Took about 3-4 attempts, it was a matter of knowing when to send out my pokemon and keeping granbull alive long enough to where I could focus on the other mons without getting killed first(he's slow). Weezing could OHKO whimsicott and Tsareena could OHKO Gardevoir, provided she wasn't intimidated. Volcarona is probably my MVP atm, she has been putting in so much work since Charlotte. Megawile didn't stand a chance. it ended up coming down to swampert and florges, and with florges weakened by two heat waves already swampert was able to tough her out and triumph.

I feel like you should have a chance to change your party right before the big house meteor fight(especially since there's a healing machine next to the house PC) without having to trek back to the circus. I wiped out on solaris due to having a freakin level 37 floatzel on my team for using waterfall/surf during the treatment center.  That kind of sucked. 

Ciel took only two tries, and 1st try was because I grossly underestimated her togekiss' speed. The majority of her team went down easy(setting up electric terrain this fight helps so much, and an ice type that can tank noivern's heat wave and outspeed gliscor make them easy) but altaria nearly wiped out 5 mons alone, thankfully donphan was able to reduce her speed enough to where swampert could finish her off. I was going to KO her with destiny bond initially but she used roost instead and messed that up lol. 

Terra was tough, took me about 6-7 tries to beat her.  Her Garchomp is so strong it can solo half my team by itself. Excadrill was annoying too since it would oneshot nearly all my mons while outspeeding them. Key was keeping swampert or donphan alive long enough to KO excadrill and having electric terrain out when garchomp showed up so its flamethrower wouldn't deal as much to tsareena. I kept having an issue of Tsareena not being able to KO garchomp quickly enough and dying before getting it past half, but I had togedamaru set up electric terrain, donphan and skuntank bring garchomp to yellow before sending tsareena out, had her play rough garchomp to finish it, and since the electric terrain was still around she was able to handle quagsire and hippowdon no problem. 

PULSE swalot was a piece of cake, togedamaru handled it by herself.

On to the showdown at amy's house with meteor. I decided not to fight taka this time.

So yeah I beat charlotte, and she was a PITA as expected. Took me about 5  tries.  Sometimes I'd end up with terrible luck(like missing 3 targets with muddy water in a row)  or just crumble under her relentless offense. I ended up winning because instead of using a potion on her rotom who was in red, she switched to ninetales while I had my own volcarona on the field, who was able to set up a quiver dance and luckily avoid her volcarona's heat wave. With a field  boosted, sun boosted, quiver boosted heat wave my volcarona was able to one shot hers, finish off rotom and two shot Ninetales while also surviving ninetales' heat wave. Praise be to volcarona.

No matter how many times I play through Reborn, Charlotte's battle gets me dreading it every single time. Wish me luck haha.

Good lord I just pulled off the hypest finish with samson.  It was like straight out an anime.

-so he opens with hariyama, I use tsareena who takes it down with two play roughs

-next is Blaziken, who I take out with swampert's earthquake, which lands a NICE and OHKOs him. Swampert loses about a 3rd health to brick break.

-Uh oh, Hawlucha. UGH. I wasn't taking any chances with this jerk so I sent out weezing, who BARELY survives acrobatics with 3 HP and destiny bonds for the kill next turn. Phew.

-But my woes weren't over yet, Mienshao made its debut.  This guy was a nightmare. He outspeeds my entire team and takes out swampert before swamp can even do anything. Due to life orb damage I abuse switching between togedamaru(while using spikey shield)/tsreena/volcarona and he eventually just sort of kills himself.  I'm lucky samson didn't use any potions this fight, for some reason. I only have one pokemon left by the time he does get Ko'd though, which is medicham.

-Lucario is faster, and meteor mash lands an okay which brings cham to yellow, but cham gets a powerful drain punch 1st turn and is able to finish him off next turn but is in red now. 

-Boss battle, here comes conkledurr. He's juiced up on his seed, the crowd's cheering for him. Medicham has only one shot. She's level 65, conkledurr 71, full health. It all comes down to the next move. Medicham centers herself, for she must make the best high jump kick she's ever made in her life. The pressure is on.

AND IT'S OVER 9000!!

Instant KO, the giant falls, and the badge is ours. 

What a battle. 

I wasn't expecting luna to be one of the harder leaders so far.  She was such a pushover before. Thankfully she gets easier as the battle goes on but that life orb absol lead is disgusting. And leading with a fighter yourself gets you play roughed. It and honchkrow are her biggest threats, thankfully the battle is pretty easy after them.

I also rose my level 15 larvesta into a volcarona. That was a bit of a drag but it's worth it. 

1st time using stunky/skuntank in reborn and i'm surprised by how long this guy has been a main on my squad. He starts off really weak, but once he gets acid spray then later bite, he's able to hold his own. He gets toxic naturally which is great, then gets nightslash which combined with focus energy = crits all day. Sucker punch is an excellent move and he also gets flamethrower on evolving, which despite his special attack stat can still come in handy on certain fields.  I got radomus' badge and he's still pulling his weight on my team. Can't believe I slept on this guy before, he's pretty legit.

Tsareena is a beautiful pokemon. I love her so much.

Iconoclasts is a really neat game. Black has to be one of my favorite villains in a long time. 

Decided to download reborn again for my new laptop, as i haven't been here or played in quite a while(since ep 17). I started a new file, this time with mudkip who I never used before. While my team is...not my best I've played with I will admit swampert isn't half bad, though his abilities are underwhelming. Just beat serra, took only one try though I only had medicham remaining.  Oddly the hardest gym leader so far was Aya. She took like 6 tries, with only shelly taking more than one(about 2-3). Shade was oddly a pushover this time, like even his mimikyu was able to be handled by weezing alone.

Blasphemous opinion: I honestly like Megaman 7 and 8 over the other classic games. 

And I don't like 9 at all.

...huh Wakfu is actually a really good show. Kind of upset I never gave it a chance before. Granted it does look pretty corny at first glance, plus it takes some episodes to hit its stride(but this applies for most shows really). And the English dub is admittedly corny sometimes(it's better in French) but it's one of the best animated western cartoon series this past decade(especially considering it uses Flash of all things) and has a ton of charm with some nice world-building and development. The villain is pretty awesome too.  

TBH the puppet master was kind of easy. One quiver dance from masquerain, baton pass to decideye, nasty plot and sweeeeeep with an occasional roost to get back health. Only had to use 2 pokemon really.
