The thought of making an AMA at New Year's Eve has crossed my mind lately. Eh, I'll probably end up not doing it anyway. Next year, it is!

Is it better to live in empty ideals or in the bitter truth?
-
@Corso Unfortunately, in our world and even Reborn that seems to be most of the case.

Ain't nothing like tiredness, a little rainstorm and a boring morning to remind you of how much you'd like to be home

Nope. It's not frowned upon lol. Just that it seemed to be an okay term for people who aren't into clubs. Nah people don't get guilty or ashamed of not being in clubs, but they seem to be having respect on people who are in clubs or organizations.
I did say it wasn't a common hobby in school, but there's still a good number of students who are into anime/manga. I got into it during Grade 8 at the suggestion of a friend who talked about Detective Conan and another who liked watching anime.

Yeah. There are so many other things you could do at school, though the people who are part of the Go Home Club aren't exactly low in number. And yes, I have different friends in school, in Debate, and in Scrabble, though a few are common in Debate.
Hm, now that I think about it, I do think that there is a similarity between our system of school with Japanese schools in manga and anime in regards to clubs and extracurricular activities. There's a big difference though; in my opinion, it's not as glamorous, I guess. I think the scenes shown in manga and anime are far cooler, though maybe that's just how I view it. The competition in our school is far more serious, especially with regards to academic endeavors.

There are quite a lot of extracurricular activities.
First of all, Scrabble and Debate technically fall under Sports Activities and there are interschool competitions that players can partake over the year. Other clubs in this area include Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, and other sports.
Second, we have mandatory Boy/Girl Scout formations (Grade 7-9) and Citizen Advancement Training (Grade 10) every Friday, and some may choose to become Leaders (and aside from being supervisors during these formations, they also have duties in the city at some points). Others may choose to join the Drum and Bugle Corps as well, where they often play their intruments at certain events.
Thirdly, there are clubs which meet every last Thursday (mandatory for everyone as well). There are some interesting activities for certain clubs like the Science Club which has a Science Camp during the 4th quarter (this is an event wherein members do science related activities and camp out) and the Social Studies Club which has activities like talking with foreign students and going to museums in the country.
Fourth, students may become assistants of priests during mass while others may become collectors during offering.
Fifth, students may become assistants of the Disciplinary Committee or become Peer Facilitators who help out in events and the like.
Sixth, there are Quiz Bowls and Contests during the school year and people may participate in it. There's also Intramurals, which is like a combination of a Sports and Cultural Festival

Ah I see. It's amazing how you've done a lot of stuff in your vacation. Quite impressive, if I would describe it.
School's been kinda stressful lately. We're nearing the end of the first quarter and the teachers have started giving performance tasks and projects. It's especially hard to balance it along with Scrabble and Debate (which for both I'm preparing for competitions late August to early September). I let go of my stress though by playing Mafia and reading some manga though I haven't read one in a while that's been especially enticing. Overall, it's been tiring but there's still quite some fun moments over at school and at home.
