  1. Hey there, I'm doing a Mono Poison type run myself, and I'm actually recording it all as well. I've done a bit of testing to see how my team will fare in the stuff ahead...and my Mystery Egg turned out to be Togepi. I have the save file that I'm using to record, and if at all possible, could you change the egg to be Tentacool? Frankly, it's not great, even in Mono Poison, but it's useful enough and I want to show off as much as I can. Thank you in advance, even if it doesn't go through! P.S: A normal Tentacool in the egg is just fine. I took a look over the egg moves and there are only three I remotely care about, and even then the natural learnset is what appeals to me. Oh right I forgot to list why Dan is a cool guy. Game.rxdata
  2. The main problem I see is overcentralization as per usual, but at least with VGC2015, the overcentralized mons had some ways of being dealt with, or at least there was a Rock-Paper-Scissors kind of scenario. Aegislash beat Cress, Cress beat Lando-T, and Lando-T beat Aegis, ect ect. At least, that's how it goes on paper, you never know how the actual battles go. The issue with things like...let's go with Mega Rayquaza, for an example. Your initial thought is, "oh, it's a Dragon/Flying type, I can just pick an Ice move and it will die." Except it has Delta Stream, which nullifies all Flying weaknesses. So now your Weavile(or most likely Mamoswine, since it can live a Life Orb Extremespeed from M-Ray)'s Ice Shard doesn't kill, and you're down a Pokemon and your opponent is probably annihilating your team at this point. If Game Freak had to do something to shake it all up, I would've preferred something similar to what they were doing with the Battle Spot rating battles, where a banlist is enforced based purely on the most overused things. All those generic threats from last year? Gone. I would like to see a metagame where something like that happens, but considering that I'm sure 90% of the competitors would cry foul, it won't happen.
  3. Woot! 400 is less than 500! Or something! Anyways, you guys are doing an amazing job, and all the things you mentioned are absolutely worth the wait. In particular, I'm really happy that you guys are making an internal volume control. RPGMaker pokemon games always have the issue where even with a computer's natural volume control, the volume is too loud or too quiet. Good on you guys!
  4. Honestly, this makes the most sense to me. The other line of logic that one could take is the line that the Pokemon Origins anime took: Gym leaders have different teams based on how many badges you have. Florinia and Julia's teams for example, could vary from what we see in her first gym battle, to how strong she was when we fought alongside her in Episode 15, all depending on how many badges you had. The only issue with this is that we DO indeed have explicit confirmation of rankings amongst the leaders, which kind of throws a wrench into that theory. On the other hand, perhaps it's something along the lines of that Charlotte(or any of the Orphanage children, for that matter)hasn't had enough time to train some lower level Pokemon to challenge Trainers with less badges, and thus to prevent an utter curbstomp, cites her rank to give us some time to get stronger. Think about it: after being rescued from the Orphanage, when was the last time she had a chance to sit down, catch some new Fire types, and train them? Hasn't really been a good spot to do so, has there? Contrast with Julia and Florinia: After we take down Florinia's gym, we pretty much haven't heard from her or Julia again until Episode 15, really. Given that they're probably taking care of their own business, or handling small scale Team Meteor attacks, they have at least SOME time to not only A)Train, but B)Capture some lower level Pokemon of their respective types to help out. As for Corey, I'm gonna cheat and cite the same logic as I did for Charlotte. He's probably been busy with not only Team Meteor business, but also finding ways to get back at them for what they did to his wife. Corey was a vengeful man, and there's no doubt a lot of his waking time that wasn't spent caring for his Pokemon or dealing with Team Meteor's shenanigans, was spent finding ways to exact his revenge. That doesn't leave much time to capture new Poison types, nor train his current ones, now does it?
  5. Ah, it's good to see ya back, Kuro. Make sure you don't overdo it, I know how that can be with work and all that. Anyways, welcome back, and here's to a continued recovery!
  6. As I vaguely recall, at least a few of the event Pokemon are accessible later, but I would still like to see Events slightly altered for the sake of people who either A)forgot to do them or B)just didn't care to and now want to go back. I'm sure since the event mons aren't supremely overpowered, Ame will probably make some sort of compromise here. I'm not sure how it'll all work out, but I have faith. Maybe. Probably.
  7. Ooooh! Neato box backrounds. I loved mucking with the custom ones you could get in..I believe it was Emerald? So this is a nice touch. Probably gonna do the 3rd and 4th ones the most, those look really nice! I do wonder what, outside of returning to the renovated Reborn City, that we'll be doing in Episode 16. Which Gym Leader will we face(my money is on Adrienn tbh)? What's up with Laura and ZEL after the confrontation in Calcenon? What's Meteor's next move? Will we finally wake Agate up(wake it up inside)from it's PULSE(at least I think this was said?)induced slumber? I'm honestly very excited!
  8. Glad I had Aurorus on my Ice team's rebuild then. Now to just put the finishing touches on it. Read: a little bit of extra testing + theorying.
  9. There's a few things it could be other than heralding our doom, as I said before. Battle base is a decent guess but the image looks a bit off to me personally, for reasons mentioned above. As a side note, it also just...looks weird when a Trainer is standing on it. My main guesses are as follows: Some part of a field effect backround, or a part of an actual cutscene a la Emerald's descent of Rayquaza to stop Kyogre and Groudon's clash. Other than that, I've got absolutely nothing.
  10. I FEAR. Amethyst whatever this is, it cannot be good for our health. Bad things are afoot, and this is the herald of our doom...or something I dunno. As for the topic of the Pulse Swalot, and I the only guy who sat there with an Excadrill with Swords Dance(not EV trained at all mind you, none of my mons are), got to +6, and started spamming EQ? There's literally nothing the blob can do to Excadril, so I kind of just...well played a good game of De Blob.
  11. Just a couple clarifications on the rules here, as I'm actually quite a bit interested in this! First off, in regards to the inverse weakness triangle. Say I want to run a team of Landorus-Therian/Rotom-Frost/Keldeo. Ground > Electric > Water one way, and Flying < Ice < Fighting the other. The question is, is this team legal due to Rotom-F's ability of Levitate, essentially giving it no Ground weakness? Do abilities play a factor in team construction, or are we just supposed to look at typing, purely? Secondly, what kind of format for battles is it? Triples? Singles? Rotation? Multis(I don't even know if Showdown can support this)? Knowing that would help in team construction greatly. Thanks in advance!
  12. Finally managed to get the audio to record right. Now for the thumbnail!

  13. I believe that is how it'll work yeah. The game itself mentions it "You won't be able to progress until you return to this room". Or something to that effect. Basically we need to be IN that room when we use Fly..or something. Amethyst and the others are smart, they know what they're doing.
  14. Comamnder, you're scaring me again. Elaborate for the sake of my sanity. Please? I asked politely? There was a Corey situation? His team can be different? ..I was not aware. What's the trigger for the two teams? I have an idea but I'm 100% sure.
  15. As a side note, the mono poison run WILL be recorded so that's fun

  16. Let the recording of the Poison Mono Run Begin..

  17. The main thing that Scrafty has over Pangoro is the sheer amount of BULK that Scrafty naturally, as well as the better natural movepool. On the other hand, Pangoro has a LOT more power behind its swings, and as mentioned, access to quite the utility move in Parting Shot. They both have the same base speed of 58, so both function well in Trick Room. Both have pretty good abilities as well. Moxie, Shed Skin, and Intimidate are all fantastic for Scrafty, whilst Mold Breaker, Iron Fist, and Scrappy are great for Pangoro as well(don't forget Hammer Arm is boosted by Iron Fist!). For me, it really depends on the battle. If you aren't worried about taking massive damage, Pangoro is definitely the one you want. If you need to bulk out a hit or two, Scrafty is the better option by a long margin. Either way, you can't go wrong here. Also, for nicknames: Callum for the Scrafty, after the affable HoodlumScrafty. As for Pangoro, I'm always partial to Street Fighter references, so I went with Gouken, Ken and Ryu's teacher and master of the fighting arts.
  18. Ooooohhhh. Retaliate looks good. Did some backlogging on the topic and saw that Thunder is definitely a callback to Gen 3. Very nice! On a slightly different note, as of Episode 15 I believe we still only have access to Floor...9? of the Department Store. Given the fact that Episode 16 is taking us back to Reborn, what floor do you think we'll be able to access in Episode 16? If memory serves we have enough stickers to go higher(to I believe 10? Don't quite remember). Remember that on higher floors we have some of the more obscure and useful evolution items...I.E RAZOR CLAW AND FANG. WEAVILE FOR EP 16 HOPEFULLY MAYBE?
  19. I know I'm not that active here but seeing you around is always a pleasure and your snark constantly brings a smile to my face. Best wishes Kuro, and may your recovery be swift and without issue.
  20. If all the E4 have Megas, and they probably will, I have a couple guesses which they will be. Heather's is obvious and bloody terrifying: Mega Salamence. Nothing wants to eat a Aerialate Double Edge to the face, and even the things that resist it aren't doing much back to MegaMence. Yikes. El(at this point I'm 99% sure he's an E4 member), if he is in fact Normal type specialty, will definitely be Mega Kangaskhan. Mega Pidgeot would be HILARIOUS yes, but this is a guy who has..issues, to say the least, and Mega Kangaskhan is far too powerful for Amethyst not to give it to him to make us cry. A lot. Given that Laura was deposed as an E4 member, I believe Bennet has taken her place, which makes me curious as to what his mega would be. As of the last time we saw him, he has no Pokemon that could Mega Evolve. Perhaps he acquired a Beedrill or Scizor along the way? The last member of the E4 is still a mystery to me, but for the common guesses let's do some work. Anna will DEFINITELY be Mega Alakazam should she be the final E4. It's the only Psychic mega evo that makes a remote amount of sense outside of Mega Gardevoir, and Radomus already had Gardevoir as his de facto ace. Unless she just has a Mega Lati or Mega Mewtwo. And then we're boned. If Arclight is the last E4 member....Frankly I have no bloody clue. He seems like an Electric type trainer to me? I dunno since I wasn't around for the original Reborn League when it was an actual thing. If he is Electric it's gonna be Mega Manectric. Pretty easy thing there. And if Lin is the final E4 member...Huh. She could be anything really. The only thing we've seen of her is Hydreigon. If I HAD to guess I'd say she doesn't really have a specialty. Maybe a Dark or Dragon type mega? Probably a Mega Charizard X, I dunno.
  21. #PraiseTheNerfedGar Anyways animations looking great! Meteor Mash looks...well meteoric! Shadow Ball looks good but yeah I'm with most on the square-ish nature of the ball, perhaps maybe slightly rounder? I can definitely see what you're going for though.
  22. To be honest I don't know how much of a drastic change it'll be. We left the city most recently after rescuing Luna and heading for Iolia Valley. After that we had the whole Agate City/Circus and Water Treatment plant mess to deal with, so it's safe assumption that it has been at LEAST a few days in plot time since we've been to the city and Adrienn has been hard at work on the restoration effort. It's entirely possible I'm talking out of my ass here though so food for thought I guess. Given that theory, I'd assume that the biggest change would be a slightly brighter palette and the city looking marginally less...horribly mangled. I doubt the water will be fully clean, but it's definitely going to be much lighter now that the Water Treatment Plant is back online. That, alongisde the fact that the Grand Gate is now functional means a lot of traffic is going to come from Spinel Town...maybe. Suffice to say that it won't be a complete tune up, more like an oil change and a general performance check. It's part of the process, but not fully done.
  23. Going to quickly dive into the "Where Are We Going Next?" line of thought before I most likely vanish for eons again. Obviously, we're going back to a...well frankly, a reborn Reborn City. I don't think it'll be all sunshine and rainbows, but it'll be nicer and you know...less horribly mangled by cracks in the ground. Thus, logically, the next big area we'll probably go is ALSO somewhere in Reborn City, or very close by. Logical answers: The desert(which I can't for the life of me remember the name of), or somewhere in the Devon Corp. We have 5 Gyms left at this point: Amaria, Titania, Saphira, Hardy, and Adrienn. Most likely victims leaders to show up next are definitely Adrienn and Titania. Amethyst has time and again said that Episode 16 is going to take a metric ton of time to finish, so I'm guessing this is finally the episode we beat up two Gym Leaders. Alternatively this is also an episode where we have like 30 new sidequests, magikarp is available again, and the world comes to an end as we know it.
  24. Yeah I got the Ralts, should've mentioned that. Other than that it seems like I can't do crap there. Got the Baltoy, Elekid, and even caught a Shiny Slugma there. Is there just something I'm missing? EDIT: I found a Card Key Shard. Now I'm even MORE confused. EDIT EDIT: GUESS WHO IS THE BIGGEST IDIOT IN THE WORLD AND DIDN'T FULLY FINISH VALOR MOUNTAIN? That's right it's me.
  25. Normally, I'd try to figure out where to go on my own but for the life of me I can't figure out where I'm supposed to go now. I've just beaten the whale and received the Shadow Key. I figured out WHERE I'm supposed to use that, but it doesn't seem like I can do squat there. Any help would be amazing.
