  1. I saw this on my subscription feed and was like "YOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and then I listened and I continued being "YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO". It sounds absolutely fantastic! You can tell it's Opal Ward, keeps the same melody, but all the while feeling like a new hope has arisen. Well done~
  2. UHM....You guys are scaring me if you think one of the fields need to burn. That said, metaphorical burn, or does it actually DO something if we roast the damned field?
  3. So...I'm late. And a Happy Holidays to everyone! Still getting through the pre-recorded bulk so no holiday wishes in any of the upcoming videos, whoops. Anyways, without further ado... Episode 5! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTQYmBWyinM Notable Happenings: A rival battle, and a trip through the slums. Mainly just exploration today, I'm afraid! Next time though, fun times are ahead.
  4. Nice! I've always admired good work ethics...even if it's a bit overzealous. Take your time Ame! We've been waiting a few months already, a couple more days/weeks won't kill us. As an aside, when are you going to start announcing the new fields? It's been a long time since Ep 15 so I don't quite remember how you did it for then. Will it be a few weeks/months before release, or basically whenever you get them done/implemented? And most importantly, I vaguely rememver you saying these will be the final fields added? Or at least coded. Does this mean we'll be seeing a full plethora of field effects this coming release?
  5. I can see that too, actually. The thing is Groudon/Kyogre aren't different Forms, they're actual Mega Evo style of things, so unless Amethyst finds a workaround, probably not. That said, seeing Genies transform mid battle would be neat. Also, is there any difference between Keldeo-Resolue and normal Keldeo other than knowing Secret Sword? Not sure.
  6. AND BY BIG PROBLEMS I MEAN HUGE SECURITY BREACH ISSUE JUST DO NOT TOUCH STEAM OTHER THAN UNLINKING PAYPAL FROM PAYPAL'S WEBSITE

  7. HEY FOLKS DO NOT GO ON STEAM RIGHT NOW BIIIIIG PROBLEMS

  8. "Certain" form changes? Like Blade/Shield form and Zen Mode? So what you're saying is you're making Titania's field most likely? I like the sound of that. Stay sane through your work week though, Amethyst! ..I mean I could also be wrong, but forcing the change of form in something like Rotom seems like WAY too much work, unless you'd just change the forms and not the moveset. ...That seems like hell though holy crap.

    Focus Sash #2?

So I've just beaten the DittoCeus fight(Thank you based Focus Sash Destiny Bond Weezing)in my Mono Poison run, and I realize there is another fight that is...going to require similar amounts of cheese later down the line, namely Glitch Mewtwo. I know there's a 2nd Focus Sash somewhere in the game, but I forget since it's been a long while since I looked at the Item Guide topic, and well...said topic is no longer with us. If anybody has a reminder of where the 2nd Focus Sash is(I got the one in the Grand Stairway, should mention), that would be great.
  10. Oooooh. Your words of this new field interest me. Something about changing targets? Perhaps a warpzone field? I can't wait! Also, good luck with programming it~ It sounds like it's an absolute nightmare to get things to work properly so I wish you the best!
  11. So it looks like the item guide is gone? What happened?

      Yeah, he fucking deleted it...

I mean, I get it. It's his thread, and it's completely fine if he didn't want to update it anymore for the future episodes...

But even with that said, I still very much question the decision he made to delete literally EVERYTHING.

I mean... even if it wasn't gonna be updated anymore, that in and of itself isn't justification to just destroy the whole thing. EP 16 is still a long ass way away. People still cou...

could've used the information that thing had gathered in it.

I do agree Stratos. He didn't really give much information as to why, but oh well.

I do have the information still from when I worked on it with him. I just have to decide whether to take up the project myself or let someone do it. However, I am fearful of another case like this if I were to let someone else do it. I'll have to wait and see.

  12. Ohohohohoho! This will be fun. My mono Poison run is going to love this once it reaches Episode 16, as the Corrosive Field is a HUGE boon, and being able to create it on command with an extension? Ohhhhh man. Though, out of curiosity, I know you mentioned the Pledge created Fields should have the Amplifield(I hate and love you for this pun, btw)be held by the 2nd Pokemon, but regarding something like Grassy Terrain + Sludge Wave, would the Sludge Wave Pokemon hold it? I'm curious because technically, if memory serves, once the Grassy Field goes away, so does the Corrosive Field.
  13. I try to do all my grinding off screen, which is usually why it can take a bit before I upload another video, simply because I sometimes just don't want to sit there and grind. Blugh. In other news... Episode 4! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNo2homnnBg Notable Happenings: Julia fight! Also the beginnings of Obsidia Ward. What awaits us in this plant ravaged ward?
  14. I get to see Star Wars today! WHEEEEEEE

  15. You should theoretically be fine if you find enough shards to teach Combusken Fire Pledge, since that incinerates Shelly's field and turns it into a nightmare for her. Getting the Growlithe event is also helpful, since it has Flame Burst which does the same thing. My biggest fear for you is the fact that you don't have a full team at this point. One of the biggest pieces of advice I give to anyone starting out Reborn is ensuring they have a variety of team members at their disposal, especially in the late game. A few I can recommend currently: If you do the Aqua/Magma Gang sidequest(they're in alleyways in Lapis and North Obsidia ward respectively), you can pick up a type of the opposite team you select(fire for siding with Aqua, water with Magma). Be careful with those though, as they're a bit high leveled and are PROBABLY meant to be taken on after Shelly. Other than that, if you aren't afraid of doing a little bit of Hide and Seek + grinding to train it up, Lillipup is always solid. Gotta start the event in Obsidia Ward, btw. Other than that, the rest of the advice here is pretty good. Shelly's team is very tricky for the unprepared, but with a little bit of knowledge, you should be just fine. Good luck, and go roast that bookworm!
  16. Ohhh a Holiday Party? On my birthday no less? Might as well attend, my family isn't huge on parties and I'm not going to go out on my 21st. I'm very much a person who would sleep on their birthday, regardless. I'll do my best to be in attendance~
  17. While I'm inclined to agree here, I'm gonna have to say that Titania is definitely going to give us Flash Cannon. Sure, Terra gives us a...lackluster TM but if she gave us EQ, I'd be even more surprised. Earthquake is a staple competitive move, and from what I see, Amethyst is very much about not giving us incredibly standard things. See the lack of Tentacool and Drilbur in Ep15 outside of the Mystery Egg. But at this point, the Leader given TMs seem to have taken a step up in quality. Luna gives us Dark Pulse, Charlotte gives us Flamethrower, and Ciel gave us Acrobatics. Those are three very damaging moves, two of which are generally given to various Pokemon for coverage options, and the 3rd of which is a powerful strategy all on its own(See Unburden and other things). And frankly, I don't think Amethyst is THAT mean to give us such a sucky move in Steel Wing. Of course, I could be entirely talking out of my ass here and Amethyst could give us Steel Wing. You never know.
  18. First off, I want to give you guys a huge thank you for being so forthcoming with your answers when you can. I love it when a dev team interacts with the community on a semi-regular basis, and you guys do a fantastic job of that, so kudos! Anyways, onto my actual question. Whilst I'm now aware of how Amethyst generally places Pokemon/Events(competitive viability, movesets, ect ect), I have another question regarding the Event Pokemon side of things. Is the Event that gives the Pokemon decided first, or is the event created and then one of the Pokemon on the list picked and assigned to that event? Take the various Hide and Seek style events(Zorua, Lillipup, ect ect)for example. Were the events designed, and then Pokemon assigned to them, or did you look at the list of Pokemon to add and go "alright so I'm gonna make this event for you, make you a gift..."? I know it's poorly worded, but I hope I got my point across.
  19. I noticed Grimer, and by extension, Muk, have the unfortunate task of being on the D Tier. Whilst I don't exactly agree with that, I'm probably biased because of my mono poison run where my Muk is putting in quite a lot of work. However, it most assuredly does not belong on B, so where does that leave us? Solid C, and here's why. Grimer - Muk for C Rank(As opposed to D where it lies now) Availability: No badges! Just get yourself the Old Rod and it's time to go. Movepool: Quite good, actually. Notable moves include Gunk Shot, Curse, Shadow Sneak and Punch, Sludge Bomb AND Wave, Flamethrower, Brick Break, ect ect. Muk and Grimer are an interesting pair of sludge blobs. The polar opposite of Weezing, they have good attack, HP, and special defense. It has 2 okay enough abilities in Stench(a nifty flinch chance if you manage to go first) and Poison Touch, which turns any of your contact moves into a 30% chance to Poison the target. It's movepool is also VERY good, and with catching a wild Duskull, if you give it one level(from 32ish)you have yourself 3 egg moves right off the bat: Shadow Punch and Sneak, as well as Curse. Curse is the main bread and butter of what Muk and Grimer are going to be doing. I've noticed that right around Shade, a lot of major boss battles(Shade himself, Cal, Kiki, Victoria)are all dealt with incredibly well with a Cursed up Muk. After 2 or 3 Curses, it's nearly untouchable and given that speed isn't an issue because you have Shadow Sneak, Muk turns into a devastating sweeper with minimal effort. That's not to say Grimer and Muk don't have their issues. The biggest issue is how long it takes for Grimer to evolve. Level 38 is not a low level, and trust me from experience, you NEED the added bulk evolution gives you to be viable here. Other than that, Grimer/Muk's natural level up pool is...quite mediocre, to be frank. Sludge Wave/Bomb and Gunk Shot are your best moves, and whilst they're great, the first two go off of your worse Sp.Atk stat, and Gunk Shot not only has iffy accuracy, but only 5 PP. Aside from that, there are just some battles where you won't get a chance to set up, or the enemy is just packing a lot of coverage in Psychic moves(a certain Roserade and Lucario jump to mind). Overall though, the sludge blobs are a very solid pair of Pokemon, but not without some pretty glaring flaws that can hold them back. If you want a surprisingly strong Poison type, give them a try, you won't regret it. Tl;dr: Specially bulky and physically strong, but slow and needs a bit of work to make use of said talents. Makes Shade's gym an absolute joke with Curse/Shadow Sneak, incredibly helpful against Noel's fat pink blob of a Clefable, overall solid sweeper in the right scenario. Has some glaring downsides in typing, natural level up movepool, abysmal speed, okay defense. EDIT: Realized I said it didn't belong in C, yet put it as "solid C" this has been corrected and I am in my shame corner.
  20. Unfortunately, at the time of this posting, I had a bunch of videos bulk recorded about a week ago, up to part...I believe I recorded up to part 7 or 8. I'll check later. Sadly, that's at a point where Gulpin is really quite close to evolving, and as an aside, a good friend personally asked me to name my Gulpin after Stahl from Fire Emblem: Awakening, so I did so. Anyways, Episode 3 finished rendering so put on your work clothes, we're headed into the Factory. Episode 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhOO0L8fl3k&feature=youtu.be Notable Happenings: Nothing that serious. The first factory is done and over with, as well as most of Julia's Gym. Next time, a Shocking Showdown!
  21. Thanks a bunch! Sorry to hear about the crashing, that always sucks. I can safely confirm that Gulpin in fact is a blasted powerhouse. I'm amazed I never used it before. IN OTHER NEWS, I'M FINALLY GETTING AROUND TO PUTTING EP 2 IN THIS THREAD SO HERE WE ARE Episode 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPkKgYspBR0 Notable Happenings: A rewind to a previous save file due to the fact that GULPIN DIDN'T SHOW UP IN THE FIRST VIDEO AND MY FIRST SAVE FILE WAS A FAILED RECORDING....W h y. Also, the capture of a couple Pokemon as well as a well deserved beatdown of a certain Grasshole.
  22. So, with my recent(okay not really recent I've been slacking like a loser)foray into streaming various games, including my 2nd playthrough of Pokemon Reborn quite a long time ago, I decided that I should get off my butt and do some other things...Like record a Mono Poison Type run. Poison's always been one of my favorite types, and in my opinion is one of the most viable types to do a first mono run of Reborn with. So the first few episodes are up, and I have a bunch recorded as well, but I'm currently waiting for a friend to get back to me about a layout to make the videos a little more presentable. But, without further ado, let's get down to business(to defeat...the runs...) First off, The Rules As a fair warning, the first video is kind of rough since this is my first time doing something like this solo, so expect commentary to be a little rough in the beginning. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy my runthrough of Pokemon Reborn as a Poison Expert, so come along, and let's have some fun, eh? Episode 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWn5TT495S8 Notable Happenings: Start of the game, and the capture of a few Pokemon. It's the first episode, what do you want? I try to keep the episode length to a shorter time frame, but depending on the scenario, it could go on for a bit. I'll try to work on this in the future.
  23. Something I've definitely noticed about this game that stands out a cut above most other fangames around, is the music. Most are remixes of main series games, and a couple spin-off remixes as well. I know a few songs have been composed by Amethyst herself(namely the main overworld themes of Reborn City itself, if memory serves). How much time and thought go into choosing the songs for each area, and for the original compositions, how much time was spent on those? As a side note, I REALLY love how there's an underlying theme for the Reborn City tracks. In every ward, you can pick out a simple rhythm present in all of their themes, and I find that to be VERY cool. Kudos!
  24. Reborn for me is basically all about adaptability, and with all those Pokemon I think you should be fine. I won't post an entire team, but I will point out a couple neat synergies I noticed!
  25. I've noticed that there seems to be an underlying theme across availability in Reborn...An obscene amount of hatred towards the Gen 1 Water types, aside from Squirtle. At least aside from Magikarp, that's easily understandable. Any particular reason for that? Anybody on the team who knows the answer can...well answer.
