  1. Growths don't really use math. They're based on rolls. It's just....all the other calculations that are based on math. Edit: Just now realizing what you meant by that. Oops. Ignore the above
  2. Characters can still be changed (before the deadline) as long as one of us is notified of the changes and confirms that they are alright. Changing to Blossom should be fine.
  3. Can't remember if I've posted this here before or not, but its really good. (And for the most part historically accurate.)
  4. This is true. Planning on fixing the generally male biased generic population to make things more equal.
  5. Matthew is the one that poisoned Dorcas' mutton.

    1. Ojama Yellow

      Ojama Yellow

      matthew

      I trusted you

  6. In any case you'll have the rest of the party to prevent you from making horrible mistakes if you get accepted lol so you should be fine.
  7. We're just joking, for the record. I'm not going to be one of those hosts. Optional stuff will likely be more difficult to get, but the game itself is going to be about medium difficulty (at least compared to all the things I could do to you if I really wanted to.)
  8. We've decided to close signups on Tuesday at 10 PM EST. I'll attempt to work something out with you if you message me or Zeta before the deadline about an extension for your character submission, but it will be on our own terms and non-negotiable. 7 units will be chosen from the ones submitted and put here in the OOC at the end of the deadline, and play will begin (most likely) two to three days afterwards.
  9. This is okay with me. Figuring out how to do fun stuff with growths/skills is part of what makes the game interesting. Edit: Also 600th post hype I guess.
  10. Yeah, you get both on promotion. The majority of T2 classes will get two skills. No attack/defense penalties. Mounts already got nerfed on-mount to have less move so I'm not going to be that cruel. (Despite me adding other things from Thracia not in the original rules lol). I am considering however nerfing them down movewise on indoor maps, or effectively force dismounting indoors as thats a feature I really like. And we have a ton of mounted units being submitted so I might have to just to make them more of a challenge either way. More on that when we actually get close to an indoor map.
  11. You get them on promotion in addition to the skills you already had. If you had the same skill in T1 you'd get from promoting, you can pick a different one (for the same Cost. Meaning Free or Cost) instead. That should be in the handbook I think. There are move/aid penalties for dismounting. The Nullify removal rule wasn't in the handbook and I didn't apply it myself, so it's still given to paladins.
  12. http://prntscr.com/d0lj7h When Status Updates fit together well.
  13. Inno has pointed out something I completely overlooked, again for a (right now) irrelevant promoted unit. Malig Knights lose lance rank on promotion from Wyvern. I'm changing this so that no matter what they promote from they get Tomes, but Wyverns keep Lances, Fighters keep Axes and Shaman gets to choose between the two upon promotion.
  14. Hassar "Another floramancer? Interesting..." he thought as he finished his carving. This Os boy would be a useful asset. Satisfied with his work (although still not about what exactly it was), he set the wooden flame to the ground and allowed small purple flowers nearby to grow and cover it. The now purple fire looked almost lifelike due to how he grew the flowers. Having no real use for it, he left it there and headed off to the dorms to get some apothecary work done.
  15. Made small changes to Dread Fighter and Freelancer, as well as merged the two Pegasus Knight entries into one (I don't know why I had two there).
  16. Okay, changes helped with by Murdoc. These mostly affected promoted units, and so far unpicked first tier units, but for the few of you's classes this does affect, Ill pm you. (I think Hukuna is the only one and I've already shot him one.) Character/Skill Changes Mechanics/Other Changes Edit: Added changes to the balancing section. Finding information on a specific class is easier there since its in alphabetical order.
  17. Murdocs suggested rule/mechanic changes are being considered and are most likely being implemented tonight/tomorrow sometime. It shouldn't really change anything on submitted character sheets, but Ill be sure to pm and work it out with you if it does. (And Ill list the changes in a separate post as well as above.) Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
  18. When all was void, the Goddess used her power to create the universe. She started with the stars, created by her own power. Once done, she next created a world with which creatures could live. In its infancy, the world was young and hot, too inhospitable for most things. So she began with dragons, which thrived in the heat. Wyverns came next, with close relation to the dragons before them, but without the same level of intelligence or stature. As the world cooled, the Goddess added new life to the world, filling the seas and the lands with an abundance of creatures. Finally, she decided to create the first humans on the land, now that it had cooled and was habitable. For years, the creatures that had lived were able to maintain peace. The dragons almost went insane about halfway through that peaceful time - but they were able to avoid conflict by storing their power into stones and living as regular people - a decision that may have cost them more than they knew. According to legends, there existed a group of summoners, mages who indulged themselves in the dark arts. Tired of the peaceful world around them, they summoned a powerful demon, one whose powers exceeded that of most other life. With the power of the demon, the summoners attempted to throw the world into chaos. While a few brave individuals fought, thinking they could fight back, they were quickly decimated by the demon’s might, causing despair throughout the land. When it seemed that the demon may indeed take the world as his own, a band of fighters stood against him. A hero, a saint, an inquisitor, a sage, and a manakete stood as one against the demon. Seeing this, the Goddess bestowed unto the band of fighters the Fire Emblem, a sigil with power great enough to smite the demon. Battles raged for another year between their forces, even with the power of the Fire Emblem, but eventually, good triumphed over evil. The demon was slain and the summoners were banished to a remote island. Once the demon fell, the band of fighters parted ways, each taking one gem of the Fire Emblem to make sure the sigils power could never be exploited in the future. The hero, with their gem and the Fire Emblem itself, settled in the islands of Veritias and founded Versidia. The other 4 heroes each took an island for themselves, settling there and making their own towns, aided by the residents of their islands who welcomed them with open arms. Now, over a millennia later, the region of Veritias is ruled by the descendants of the original hero, and the Fire Emblem, with its sole gem, has been passed down through generations, protected by the royal family. This protection will not last however...and it is the duty of you, the royal guard, to stop things before they escalate. You are all new recruits, and for the first task of your new band, you are sent out to reach the island of Kabumu to investigate a disturbance. A disturbance that sends you down longer path than any of you wanted. Upon this path, choices will be made. Disagreements will be had. It is up to you, young knights, to make the choice that you think is right and to save this land. Well. There you have it. Zetaark and I have been working on this idea for a little while now, and it may have gotten slipped out to some because I’m awful at keeping secrets about what I work on. That aside, this was inspired by Pyon’s Fire Emblem on the Forums: Ashes RP, and we hope to be a good running companion alongside it. There were many who didn’t get accepted into that, and this gives those of you who want it another chance. It is also freely open to those already accepted into Ashes, and of course, everyone else. As you can see, I’ve taken heavy liberties with balancing, and added some new things over the course of planning for a more interesting experience. Map Design and Balancing will be done by me, as I have a lot of experience with the Fire Emblem universe by this point and (I hope) know what I’m doing when it comes to that. Zetaark will be doing most of the posting and story, as well as npcs and interactions with players. I’ll have a hand in npcs as well, but not as big of one. Finally, Inno will be doing graphics (specifically the mugshots). With all that out of the way....signups are here. Rules are here, but make sure to read the changes I've done too. Balancing/Mechanics/Misc Other Changes Special Thanks World Map Description of the islands of Veritias.
  19. Skyrim remaster drops tomorrow. It should be ready to preload in your steam if you got it there originally. I've got mine. Let the hype (and me locking myself in a room and not leaving for three days) begin.

    1. Bearadactyl

      Bearadactyl

Surprised it's only 30FPS on consoles. Like... The game has relatively weak specs, that are actually weaker than both of the console's hardware.

Wonder if it's due to mods.

Probably. I'm honestly kind of surprised my laptop can meet the recommended specs for it.

  20. Bomb Squad "Works for me. He's out of useful information anyways. He couldn't provide me much but...depending on the research results I might still be able to get the glove working. Or maybe even a face if my idea works..." Raziel said with a hint of annoyance. "As long as I still have access to him, even in just a normal prison, use him for whatever facade you'd like." With a wink to the captive he added "The angels don't usually use the death sentence. Usually." Looking to Bargus he said "I trust that you'll take care of it well enough. Now I really must be off if we're ever going to figure anything out."
  21. Going to have Raziel head off to the library for the night. Post will be up when I get out of school in a few hours.
  22. Gotherk is the hero Lycia needs. Rip Dorcas. I never realized Bool was the one that put poison in his mutton. Side note: Staves actually *could* miss in Thracia. Its hilarious in certain circumstances (Like an enemy trying to warp himself somewhere and missing. How do you miss yourself?) And very painful in others.
