    I think I have a theory about why genwunners see gen 5 as taboo (which is BS IMO, since the gen is great). it is the only generation to introduce MORE pokeman than gen one.

     

    So remember kids, gen 5 may be hated among genwunners, those "fans" tend to be wrong at all times

      As much as I like Gen 1, I've never had a problem with Gen 5 or any for that matter. I prefer to be more specific in my knit picking. Like the Magnemite line not having Levitate (cuz they obviously walk around on invisible legs)

      or maybe the fact that you could only catch those new pokemons, and leaving past-gen mons fopr post-game. Which meant that people couldn't get their hands on their favorite and were "forced" to try out others... which I actually liked VERY much, because I wouldn't see a friggin Pikachu the whole game :D

      I perosnally loved being "limited" to gen 5 mons. while it was my first game in the series, I did know of some others due to the anime. I personally loved going though Unova using only mons from gen 5
