These flaws are minor compared to the flaws of the other protagonists. For dueling I'm not sure, He'll probably beat Jaden and Yuma but Yami and yuya might be a tad too much for him.

the thing about Yami is that while he has a pretty strong deck, it's probably on par with that of Yusei while having a slight edge because yusei relies completely on Synchro's and there for has a lot of low level monsters in the main deck. if he could get them on the field before Yami gets Dark Magician it would be over in favour of yusei. against Yuuya he would have dificulty keeping up with the swarming of his monsters, yet he has some usefull defencive cards to let him wait out a little till he can draw a tuner. in both situations it will completely come down to who gets the best startng hand and it would be sure to be evenly matched till the end.
