  1. On Showdown, I use a Togekiss with Air Slash, Aura Sphere, Thunder Wave, and Tailwind. It's only used for a mono-fairy team, but it helps a bit.
  2. Currently doing a Psychic/Ghost run.
  3. I'm not sure if keeping Castform is a smart idea. Thing is heavily reliant on weather, but dies ridiculously easily and won't have time to even set up.
  4. Just realized that the story for my run is going to be harder than I thought. My MC Fresh is like me, so he likes and cares about his Pokemon, which makes it hard to put them in the PC, even when necessary

  5. Just saw the newest episode of Gravity Falls. Dang man.

  6. Log 10: Studying the team This will be a rather short entry into my log. I'm still en route to the explosion at the grand stairway, as well as the Lapis ward to find Corey's corpse and see what's happening with that, but some other interesting events have happened. I went back to the Beryl Library to find the other survivor there and get him to safety now that the plants were gone. Instead of another person though, I found a Gothitelle and her two children, both young Gothita. She spoke to me using her telepathic powers, saying that they had lived in the library for years, but saying that it was not suitable for them in the current state. She asked me to help clean up the debris from the fallout. It's a curse, being unable to turn a blind eye to those in need, so I helped them out by clearing some of the books and other trash that had been knocked around. For my services, she gave me something called a "Soul Candle." It burns with some kind of spectral energy, but I'm not really sure what it does. I'll hold onto it until I find a use for it. As I was about to leave the library, one of the Gothita ran up to me. It sounded like it wanted me to take it on my journey. After seeing the psychic power of Gothitelle, I was tempted to take him, but not before getting her permission to take her child. She said it would be fine and a good experience for him to grow with me, so she gave us her blessing and he joined my team, so I named him Beryl for the location. Unfortunately, this means I have more than 6 Pokemon, which means one of them needs to be left in the box so a professor can take care of them. Although she did finish the last battle quite admirably, Slink was just too random and unreliable and I feared she would not grow out of that habit. I left her with the professor, but I may one day come back for her. There was one other location I had to visit before continuing: The Police Station in the Jasper Ward. I wanted to make sure all of the cops made it back safely. Indeed they did, and as thanks for finding them all, the police chief gave me the Growlithe of the officer who passed away. It was a sweet thought, but I sadly can't train it, and it would be disrespectful to the deceased if I just placed it in the box. Fortunately (well, unfortunate form him), one of the police officers had his Growlithe stolen by Team Meteor, because they are that incompetent, and wanted a new one to train. I was willing to give him the one the chief gave me, and he thanked me for it by giving me a Pokemon Egg. He didn't know what was going to hatch from it, but he was very grateful for his new partner. After walking around and battling a few more trainers, the egg hatched. I was quite surprised to see a baby Phantump come from the egg, and an off-color, or shiny as some people call it, one no less. Wait, the Pokedex says that Phantump is possessed by the spirit of a dead child. Did.. did a child just die when this hatched? Ugh, Pokemon can be very bizarre sometimes. Anyway, I named him Groot and am looking forward to using him on my team, although that does leave me with another dilemma, in that I would need to put someone in the box again. I didn't want to put Teemo or Aero in it as they have very good synergy with each other, and Teemo fills a defensive role on my team not many have while Aero provides some very good coverage. I can't put Beryl in there as I promised to help him grow. Lilith was my first Pokemon, so even I built an attachment to her and want to keep her with me throughout my journey. Keeper needs more training before he can become a true powerhouse. So the only one left I can put in the box, even though she nearly swept Corey, is sadly Shimmer. She can become very powerful, but perhaps she will fight by my side again some other day. She seemed like she'd be forgiving if I did this though, so I'm grateful to her for that and for her service. So Shimmer, thank you. You've been invaluable to the team. OK, short one today just to set the story for the new team members without making the next log where I actually do stuff super long. Team balance is incredibly hard now due to actually having a character invested, rather than just being another player character who will change their team whenever necessary. Damn, I feel like a jerk putting Shimmer and to a lesser extent, Slink, who would've been replaced no matter what in the box. Team Update Lilith Level 28 Aero Level 28 Teemo Level 27 Keeper Level 23 New Members! Beryl Level 25 Groot Level 1 (just hatched thanks to Chubb) While I like Phantump and Trevenant, I'm mostly using him to get Destiny Bond to kill Garchomp. I didn't do it on my regular run and want to do so here. Many thanks for their service and I hope to use you again Shimmer Slink And thanks to anyone who is following along with the story of my writing. If you like it, comment or something. It's appreciated.

  11. I know it's a better item, but I wanted some more AD due to being really far ahead, and them not having much magic damage in the first place.
  12. 4v5 the entire game, Garen s***s on anyone who dashes into him. If you're up against Garen, play a ranged champ. And before anyone says anything about the Wit's End or whatever that thing is, I was really far ahead and needed a bit of MR. Went with that for the extra damage as well.
  13. I play a pretty decent Mii Brawler and even earned the nickname Cheese while doing so. They are so much fun to play. Tend to use the 1112 setup because I like having the actual recovery option.

  20. Because Fairy is a specially defensive type, I feel like Steel will be the optimal type to take in against him. If he uses Misty Terrain, he can't even cripple physical attackers with burns. The biggest problem would be Reflect then, but couldn't someone with Infiltrator ability could work. Please, for the love of Arceus, do not let him have Pokemon with Cosmic Power & Stored Power. They will be literally impossible to kill unless you outspeed them the first turn they're out.
  21. Log 9: A PULSE... a grave. The Beryl Ward was a short distance away from the Jasper ward, but the main area of it was blocked off by a multitude of vines. I first went east, along the Beryl Bridge. A vast desert could be seen to the north, while the Lapis Ward, to the north of the Grand Hall, could be seen to the south. Across the bridge was what was apparently the old power plant, now abandoned. There was a sign saying it was a gym as well. What is with this region and using power plants as gyms? I get that it saves space, but does no one think that could be dangerous? A stray attack could put the entire plant out of commission and cause the entire city to lose power. It was locked though, so I went back across the bridge, into the forest called the Rhodocrine Jungle. Another jungle to explore, likely another PULSE Tangrowth to free. One thing I noticed about the area was that even without any Meteor intervention, it was already a dense forest. Walking along through the mess of trees and vines, there was a very odd cluster of grass, leaves, and sticks in a large circle on the ground. It looked like it was trying to conceal something. It didn't take a powerful mind to realize what it was; all it took was seeing at least one cliche survivor movie or TV Show. I was going to walk around the pitfall, but was suddenly pushed from behind, causing me to stumble directly into the cluster, thus revealing it to be, surprise surprise, a pitfall. I landed on my back, so fortunately I remained mostly unharmed, but did fall unconscious for a brief period. My last thought before blacking out was that my Pokeballs might be damaged, which could prove disastrous for my team. I came to a short while later, but now I was in a cage. Two Nuzleaf were standing outside it and used a switch to close the gate, sadly trapping me here. The cage was enclosed at the top and the bars were too small for me or my Pokemon to get through. Hold it! My Pokemon! I checked the balls immediately. There was no damage to any of them, praise the sun. After about 5 minutes in the cage, there was some rustling and noise coming from the forest. Unfortunately, it was Fern. He said he came up here to battle the gym leader and all he found was a "scrub in a cage." And he still can't beat me in a battle. He offered to pull the switch and let me out, but only if I got on my knees and begged. Firstly, I didn't believe that he actually would let me out. Secondly, I have this foolish thing called pride, which wouldn't let me beg, especially not to him. Knowing my options were either beg or wait for something else to come along and free me, I did the foolish thing and refused. He said that I could rot in there for all he cared and quickly left. Being stuck in a cage is still better than speaking to him. I tried thinking of every option to get out of that cage. It was quite well built, so breaking it or having my Pokemon break it wouldn't work. In fact, I thought Shimmer would be able to blow it apart with her Psychic powers, but was unable. She did seem to trust me now though, so I gave her the Moon Stone I had been keeping. Even with the power boost, she was still unable to break the cage. Apparently those Nuzleaf were craftier than previously thought. Even thought about having Lilith burn it, but that could've set fire to the entire jungle, proving very dangerous to any wild Pokemon that lived here, and myself and my team wouldn't be immune to the fire. As I continued pondering my situation, a familiar face, one far less irritating than that of Fern, showed up. A Chatot walked up and pulled the switch to open the gate. It said "Release Fresh" and then hopped away. If I'm not mistaken, that was Taka's Chatot. That means he's here and is actually looking out for me. Continuing through the forest, I found the rest of the missing police officers, who I told to immediately to head back to the station. If they couldn't handle themselves before, then they would just be a hindrance to me. One of the biggest buildings that was still standing was the Beryl Library. Hoping to find something of value, I went in and was greeted by a survivor of the plant attack. He offered to share some of his supplies with me, which was a very generous offer. I accepted and rested for a bit in the library before continuing. While in the library, I found a Growlithe, marked with a small police badge. It was staring deeply into a hole in the floor of the library. Taking a look, there was the body of a police officer. It was a truly horrifying sight, him being crushed by a bookcase that had fallen. The Growlithe looked upset, so that cop must have been the partner. I told it to go back to the police station, as hopefully the Chief would understand that one of their own passed. It was dark by the time I left the library to continue. I eventually found the PULSE, again a Tangrowth. Taka, ZEL, and another Meteor member were there to defend it. As we were about to battle, the young, brash, pink-haired girl with the Salamence from the Jasper ward showed up to try and stop the PULSE. It turns out her name is Heather and that she is the daughter of the Beryl Ward gym leader. But surprisingly, it was the other Meteor goon there who knew about her. He took her on in a battle, leaving ZEL and Taka to me. A double battle against both of them using their own Pokemon proved to be far more challenging than I was anticipating. ZEL only used the PULSE Tangrowth last time, but this time they used their own team of Glaceon, Espeon, and Umbreon. Those three hit hard and were hard to take down. Taka used his Lileep and Chatot, who was definitely the one who saved me from the cage, and the Tangrowth. After some intense battling that actually saw both Aero and Teemo evolve into Swoobat and Meowstic respectively, we were able to take them both down. Those two retreated shortly after I beat them, while Heather was still using her Salamence to battle the last guy's Crobat. Shouldn't that have been a very one-sided fight in Salamence's favor? It is significantly more powerful, and could possibly Mega Evolve if she has the stone. Anyway, the Meteor ran from the fight and got away before we could catch up. Heather then spoke to me, saying she was tired of how controlling her dad was and that she was going to fly away eventually. I really didn't know anything to say to her for that, so I just went to the gym to battle her father. There was something to the west of the gym that drew my attention before I went in. A small cemetery laid there on the mountainside. There were a few Police Officers there with a gravestone erected to the fallen man. I paid my respects and continued onward. A single grave stood out to me from the end of the graveyard. It radiated some kind of dark aura. The name on the tombstone read Shadowkeeper, and as I read that word, a Shuppet jumped out at me. Knowing it could be a very powerful ghost type, I quickly had Slink do battle with it and caught it. Because it came from the grave, I named it Keeper. Hopefully it will grow more powerful as it travels with me. After all was said and done, I finally went to the gym. The leader, Corey, was not at the arena, so I had to head back out. There were a few strange machines in the lobby of the gym. After playing around with them for a bit, a secret room opened up. Knowing full well that I was invading his privacy, I entered and spoke to Corey. He said that he knew that I knew his daughter, and then said that he would be waiting for me to battle him. This battle should not prove that difficult, as he's a Poison trainer. Boy, was I misled. Our battle took place on some kind of bizarre field. It was mostly grassy, but it was looked like it was poisoned and dying. Corey described it as a Corrosive field, which would increase the power of all his poison attacks. He made this field to perfectly complement his team. He started with his Skrelp, and I started with Shimmer. Evolving into Musharna made her insanely strong, even if she won't learn the move Psychic in this state. But that likely won't prove a problem to her with her power. She managed to make herself stronger while taking down Skrelp with Charge Beam. His next Pokemon was Croagunk. Knowing it to know a few fast dark type moves, Shimmer put it to sleep with Yawn and healed herself with Moonlight, which was powered up due to the time quickly approaching midnight. Her Psybeam made quick work of the frog. Skuntank was next, and Shimmer put it to sleep again, taking it out with Charge Beam and getting stronger with each blast. Corey's Nidorina and Grimer were both taken down by a single powered-up Psybeam each. It was looking like she was going to be able to sweep his entire team. That is, until he used his ace, Crobat. Ordinarily, it wouldn't have been a problem as Shimmer had taken very little damage and can usually survive a few hits. But this is where his field really came into play. The move Venoshock greatly increases in power against Poisoned targets. But because of the corroded field, the move was far more powerful than normal. In fact, the move was so powerful that it nearly swept my entire team. A single Pokemon was able to almost turn the entire tide of the battle. However, I had one Pokemon who was able to finish the job. Ordinarily Lilith is my ace and my finisher, but even she was taken down. She seemed angry with herself for not being able to last longer, but it's OK. She can't always do everything, and that's fully understandable against something as stacked against us as this. No, this time, it was Slink who landed the finishing blow. Corey's Crobat missed its attacks against the constantly bouncing target. Her erratic movements disoriented it, which let her unleash her own powerful Psybeam to finish the bat and win the battle. As he was about to give me the badge, Heather walked in. She announced she was leaving, running away. Corey told her not to, but knew there was nothing he could do to stop her. It was a heartbreaking moment. After she left, Corey told me to meet him at the bridge if I wanted to see "a show." Fearing what could happen, and still not having received my badge, I followed after him. As I left the gym, I heard a loud cry from the roof of the gym. It was an Absol, the Disaster Pokemon. Realizing those frequently show up when something terrible is about to happen, I rushed to the Beryl Bridge to meet Corey. I got there just as he was releasing his Pokemon, saying he no longer needed them. He then told me his story, how he lost his wife during childbirth, how he raised Heather to believe hope is for the weak and that life is cruel as a way to spare her the torment he suffered. He asked me to watch over her since he was no longer fit to be her father, saying she would be targeted for her ruby ring. Then he jumped. Time seemed to slow as he fell. Thinking I could somehow save him, I sent out both Aero and Shimmer in the hopes that they could fly down and catch him, but it was not to be. By the time they were out, it was already too late. It was a sound I'll never forget, something akin to a large fruit or pumpkin being thrown against the pavement. There was only thing that could make the shock of seeing someone just jump off a bridge to their death be worse, and that one thing just so happened to show up. Fern said that he came up here to challenge him for a badge. He had absolutely no remorse for the situation since he never met the guy, and that it was just "natural selection." As I was debating throwing him off the bridge as well, the ground shook and a loud explosion rang out. Smoke could be seen coming from the Grand Stairway by the Opal ward. It sounded like a bomb had gone off. It looks like that is to be my next destination. Long one today. Got really lucky as Crobat went down to a random Critical hit. Much easier than the Corrosive Mist field. Team Update Time! Teemo Shimmer Aero And the newest member of my team, the first Ghost available... Keeper He needs more training.
