  1. Mr. Taylor stopped and called out to Marcus, he wasn't sure of where he had gone, but he knew the boy wouldn't have anything peaceful planned. "Marcus my dear boy, do you really think I intend to kill you? No, no that isn't the case at all quite the contrary really. You see Marcus I have a proposition for you, one that I believe a man of your disposition would be quite interested in. Show yourself and let's just have a chat, alright?" Mr. Taylor slowly put his weapon in his pocket and raised his hands to the sky. "You see my dear boy, I mean you no harm, now come on out and speak with me for a moment."
  2. Yeah, I would like to finish our scene up, though if you want to start the next chapter up while the scene is being finished that's fine with me.
  3. "I am Maximus." the boy said a smile on his face, "And what do your fellow horses call you?"
  4. Mr. Taylor cursed under his breath. Why was this so hard to pull off? The old man did his best to chase after Marcus, knowing full well he wouldn't get another chance like this.
  5. Maximus watched as the hunter had finally ascertained a ride. He sighed, realizing he was one of the few who had yet to get a ride. Horses were not a fit for an Ekarder, but still he would have to make due for now, lest he get left behind. "You their," he called to the nearest horse. "I have need of a partner for the ride, would you care to be my steed?"
  6. God damn it! I'm gonna give it a few more posts, hoping that someone has something up their sleeve to keep Mr. Taylor and Marcus alive, their may be hope yet for Mr. Taylor's grand plan.
  7. Damn I'll miss bibs. I really liked Lionel as a character and it'll stink not having that kind of easy going character around.
  8. I'm not really sure what kind of power this guy has just yet, so I don't want to assume that Jude will be able to phase through his arm, grab his knife and stab him, so I'll just let you bunny him for the next step of the fight Flux.
  9. Mr. Taylor had decided early in the fight against the damned dog that he would stay on the sidelines and help tend to the wounded after the fight and now that the fight was over, he fully intended to make well on that idea. That was until he heard Ethic yelling from across the hall. The words couldn't have been more shocking. The man that had killed him, Marcus, was here while he, Mr. Taylor, was fully loaded and perfectly ready for him. Mr. Taylor hadn't placed that into his plans, but the fact that the young murderer was here would make them just all the easier to complete. Nothing except for perhaps a random move by one of the others, something he could never expect would stop him now. Mr. Taylor smirked and quickly rushed over to Ethic, he noticed an arena had been set by Ethic, which he could only guess would lead to a final battle between he and Marcus, that wouldn't do at all. Also Rose had appeared, apparently having been killed by Marcus. Likewise, that situation would need to be fixed quickly if Mr. Taylor's plan was to work. "Now, now my dear boy," the old man called out to Ethic, "You seem weary perhaps you should allow me to take care of this vermin." Mr. Taylor was closing in on the group and was within a few feet of Ethic, "It is imperative that I deal with him. The two of you are far to important to the group to die here. You are the strongest and most courageous members of the group. Rose, the girls would be lost without you and right now they both are in pain, they need you." Mr. Taylor now focused entirely on Ethic, "And you my dear boy," he smiled kindly at the boy, "You must lead them, protect them, guide them. This is hell after all and I don't think it'd do to have a group of children wondering around." Mr. Taylor then turned back to Rose, alternating his glance between the two. "The group has just defeated what I believe to be the boss of this level, I'm sure that means that the exit must be near by." Mr. Taylor sighed, "Please take them through it and hurry forward. I will deal with Marcus, I will ensure that he does not follow you to the next level. That his trek through hell ends here."
  10. Jude smirked as the man's arm came crashing down, he prepared himself to let his arm phase through his body. While, the man's arm was coming down he reached for a knife in his cloak and planned on using it to stab the man in the eye.
  11. Oarloff was the next passenger to stumble off the boat, a look of wonder and amazement covered his face. He had spent his hole life in the city of Nevermore always dreaming of seeing the world and now here he was out in the world. He quickly pushed his way through the sailors and made his way to the rest of the group. "Ooooh, it is so beautiful here isn't it guys!" He said while continuously looking around, not keeping his eyes on anything for more than a few seconds. "Misturr Dru and Miss Helzebeff you two is so lucky to be from a neat place like this!"
  12. I just realized something. We have: 8 Shards 8 Gods 8 Death Angels 8 Player Characters Coincidence? Or special Hukuna design?
  13. Yes, I did miss the part where the Gentleman isn't a death angel. So I'll change that answer to the Crimson King. He's clearly powerful since the other death angels haven't done anything about him yet and as Zephyr pointed out he does know a lot about us.
  14. Which of The Death Angels you most look forward to seeing? Which seems the most interesting to you? I can't really say at this point, since I know so little about them. I mean if I have to say which one sounds the most interesting I'll say either the Hatter or Ashnard the Werewolf, though that's based on almost nothing. Which Death Angel do you think will be in The Shattered Hills? Why? I'm going to say either the Illithid in the yellow cloak or Ashnard the Werewolf. Ashnard would make sense since it's a woodland area. The Illithid in the yellow cloak is another strong option do to our current Illithid companion. Which Death Angel do you most dread facing? The Gentleman obviously. I mean he straight up murdered everyone in the first chapter. Why do you think Bartimus asked you what if the Gentleman is right? Bartimus seemed fairly skeptical of the group as a whole, I'd take a guess he was simply trying to figure out what type of character's he was dealing with. What do you think the Guardian of the Titan's Skin is? I seriously have no idea. What do you think the Titan's Skin does? What do you think is the Drawback of this power? Since the Titan's Skin greatly improves endurance I'd imagine you lose something mildly related, perhaps strength? Which Shard do you think is the most interesting? Since my character has a direct tie to Bartimus I'm really interested to see what the Apple of the World is all about. Which Shard seems the most powerful to you? ((I am totally trying to balance them I am just curious which you think sounds the most nuts.)) inversely which seems the weakest? Draven's Heart of Darkness or Lumabella's Talisman of Light would be my bet for the 'strongest' though I'd also imagine the Apple of the World is strong. The weakest seems to be the hand of grim mistakes, though just saying that may well be a grim mistake. Do you mind the more linear style of the plot in Graterras? I am really trying to battle with how I want the story to go from here. While I want to let you guys wander etc.....it would make a crap load more work for me having to prepare a hell of a lot more stuff other than the storyline. I was more thinking along the lines of I will let you guys decide which Shards to go to and each Shard will be sorta it own little directed adventure. I don't mind it, just remember to give us a little bit of time to interact with one another. Should I involve the NPCs more? I notice that sometimes I forget to update them as much as I think I should. Jupiter and Odin are the easiest as they are more combat orientated. ((and due to their ties which Helzebeth.)). That's really up to you. Personally I think involving them too much removes the feeling of our PC's being the heroes of the story but, I don't think having them do a bit more would necessarily be a bad thing. What did you think of the Creation Myth, and the Story of Arcano? Did you think Arcano was wronged, or did he deserve his fate? How true do you think the story is? The Creation Myth was well put together, unique enough not to be weak, but not so unique as to sound insane. I personally think Arcano was wronged slightly, but he totally overreacted. I'm guessing the story isn't totally true since if it were I doubt you'd ask that question, but I guess I'll find out soon. What do you think of Blue? I'm skeptical of him at this point, he could be leading us into a trap or he could be a good guy. Bartimus mentioned The Crimson King, or the Red Faced Demon wanted to atone for his sins. What do you think The Crimson King is trying to atone for? I don't trust the Crimson King at all. Despite the fact that the death angels don't trust him and that Bartimus himself said he was trying to atone for some sins doesn't mean he's to be trusted. That being said I'm sure he's trying to atone for a death of some loved one he was directly responsible for. What did you think of Bartimus? Why do you think he choose Oarloff as his champion rather than a Paladin of his order or some powerful warrior or mage? Mr. Buttons has style, can't say I'm not biased but, I totally love the guy. Other than the fact that he likely chose Oarloff to fit him in the story better, I'd say that Oarloff has the kindest heart or perhaps appreciates life the most? Plus, Oarloff is a bard, while Paladins are warriors, so I'd imagine the God of Life wouldn't choose a bloody warrior to be his champion. And lastly as always, Is there anything I can improve upon? I've really enjoyed my time in this RP so far, though it may be helpful to include a list of the Death Angels and Shards in the OP here. There's a lot of information in this RP and I'd like an easier way to find it.
  15. Jude had had enough of this insolence. He had attempted to be peaceful, but apparently these people were too dull to realize their true calling. He could see now that words would not make them realize who had sent him, but action would. Jude rushed after the man who was chasing the boy who was carrying the girl. By the time Jude arrived the group from earlier was blocking the boy's path and the larger man had finally caught up and was placing threats. The misguided fools. Jude quickly drew his sword and lunged forward at the muscular man, aiming directly for his heart.
  16. Maximus had no interest in finding a steed. He was an Ekarder for Azuaqyar's sake! Well, if that phrase were still meaningful. But, it didn't change facts he was a highly trained Ekarder and an Ekarder rides but one beast. The Wyrm. While in training Maximus had been taught that it was disrespectful for an Ekarder to ride anything other than a wyrm. The absence of Dragons, Drakes and Wyverns from the world was the burden of the Ekarders, formerly known as the Dragoon, not the burden of the other beasts of the world. Instead Maximus' mind was more interested in his current mission and whatever was living in that hatch under ground. After enough time had passed, the Ekarder had had enough, "Haven't we lingered here long enough?" He called to the group, "In case you've all forgotten, their is still a world to save." He then motioned inside to the scene of Rodriguez's death, "And with each passing moment innocents die."
  17. Oarloff's face was pale, his expression unreadable. The half-ogre stood in an almost disturbing silence. His attention was entirely focused on his dead friend and the burning rubble. The rubble that just this morning was his home. The rubble where he and papa had shared so many memories. The rubble where he had met Mona. Oarloff staggered backward and put his head down. He had no idea how to describe his emotions. Mr. Irving was dead, his home was destroyed. Was it pain he felt? Anger? Sadness? None of those words seemed to fit his feelings. But, despite his utter confusion, his feeling of being lost he felt as though he needed to do one thing and one thing only. The half-ogre looked back up and immediately located his father and began walking over to him. He didn't stumble now, nor did he bumble his walk was focused now. He made his way over to his father and hugged him. It wasn't the bear hug he had given before. This time when Oarloff hugged his father it was gentle, caring, and embracing. The half-ogre continued his embrace in silence for a short time as if to hold on to the one thing he felt he still had left.
  18. Clint placed his crutches on the ground and pushed himself forward. "Here Sir!" He called while still leaning on his crutches, careful not to let his cast touch the ground. His body still hadn't fully healed from the tarmac incident, though that wasn't something he should complain about. If he had been in the same type of condition he was at the tarmac just ten years ago it'd be likely that Clint Cannon would be resting peacefully in the ground right now. However, with the quick actions of the medical team that tended to him, not only was Clint still alive, but he could even still move around and chances were with enough work he'd be capable of full movement in just a few more weeks.
  19. That's why I want Clint to fight Freeman. There's no better measure of strength than how you fight against someone with all of the advantages in their favor.
  20. I posted this after Clint caught his Jigglypuff: Onix/Pimparella - 25 Rocky/Tyrogue - 24 Diva/Jigglypuff - 16 So if we give each of them about 2 levels for the battle versus Logan, 0 for the battle of the tarmac (None of my GAOs did anything other than receive damage) and 5 for training, we get: Onix/Pimparella -32 Rocky/Tyrogue - 31 Diva/Jigglypuff - 23
  21. Mr. Taylor quickly pulled out his gun and aimed a shot directly at the eye of the head nearest to him. "Enya, my dear it doesn't like water keep that up. Everyone else concentrate your efforts on the head to the left if we can take out that head perhaps the beast will calm down."
  22. What did you think of this Chapter? Did you enjoy it? Their were parts I sort of enjoyed and parts I REALLY enjoyed. Following up on that question; What do you think of this RP as a whole? This is one of my favorite RPs. The freeform nature of it really lets us explore our characters more and the interactions between PCs and between NPCs are often meaningful. On to my writting in this, what do you think about it? Where could I possibly improve? As a whole you're a very good writer. You know how to suck a reader in and create an appropriate amount of drama. You also are very good at 'scaling' the intensity of a scene, i.e. you never really go overboard unless it's called for. However, I'd like to see more interaction with the PCs out of you. The only NPC that really talks to the other cadets is Eric and this feels a little weird to me. I'd like to see Surge, McCarthy, Ray, and Oak interact with the rest of us more often. Which Host Controlled Character's/ NPCs feel real to you? Which could use some improvement? Ray, Oak, Eric and McCarthy feel the most real at this point. In this RP I don't feel as though you've made any bad characters, I do really like Surge but I just want to see more out of the guy. Who is you favorite NPC? Why? Explain. McCarthy is kind of the man. He's just a bad ass general type and you play him well. I also love the fact that he always shows up at the best/worst times. Who's your least favorite NPC? Why? Explain. Ray I guess? I like him as a character, he's well written and I understand him, but he's just kind of a dick sometimes. What do you think of Professor Rowan and Oak? Should I try to fit them to the mold they're portrayed as in the games a bit more, or should we just get a bit more creative? I like where you have Oak and Rowan right now. They're different enough from their personalities in the game that I can believe them being in the army, but not different enough that I think they're entirely different people. What do you think of the battles that have been had so far? Do you disagree with the concept of Soldiers having no idea how to really bring out a GAOs potential in a fight at this point? I freaking love the battle system here. I think we have a good enough group of RPers to really do justice to a free-form battle system. And again it'd be weird if our characters instantly knew how to control our GAOs, that's part of the point of having our characters right? So they can learn how to bring out their GAOs potentials. How would you feel If I told you that the rules of conventional battling for the most part aren't going to mean anything in this RP? Do you feel this adds to the realism of the story? Should one try to fight fairly, even in war? I'm really happy that we're not using the conventional battling system. If I wanted to go by a turn by turn battling system I'd just play the game. This battle system makes for a more realistic story, their's just no way a real person would tell their GAO to attack and then wait by and let the other person have a turn. What do you think of the integration between the real world and the concept of pokemon done in this RP? Where can it be improved in order to make things more real? I like it enough, though we've been sort of isolated from the outside world for a while now. I'd like to actually see the world at some point and how the common citizens are dealing with the 'outbreak.' How would you feel if I tell you that a certain NPC/ HCG is eventually going to be forced to commit war crimes for their country? Don't ruin it! Would you like seeing a bit of information about the world as a whole in the OP? Yes, very much so. I'd like for our characters to at least get tid bits of what's going on, whether from higher ups, letters from the family, or just watching the news. Unless of course we get to travel into territories. What did you think of the Mini-Boss battle for this Chapter? The Articuno fight was really well done. What do you think of me as Host of this? Be honest, by now, I expect nothing less from you guys. You're an awesome host here. Again, the only complaint is how little you let your NPCs interact with the other PCs. Their are times when Ray and Surge only seem interested in Erick and don't really seem to pay attention to the rest of us.
  23. Oarloff nodded cheerfully at Helzebeth, "Well if you think you can see your papa again then we has to go there Miss Helzebeff!" The simple ogre may not have realized the gravity of what Helzebeth was saying, but he certainly understood that she missed her father. "Oh, me doesn't know what me would do if me hadn't seen papa for that long! We just has to find him, me knows we will Miss Helzebeff, he'll be nice and happy and waiting for us."
