  1. Jude had finally caught up, just in time to notice another man calling himself an Awakened. "So you are one of God's Chosen people?" Jude began slowly allowing himself to be seen. "Then perhaps you will listen to reason. My group, Utopia, intends to create a world where the Awakened are no longer persecuted, but rather are rewarded for their gifts." Jude stopped and stared around, looking at the other members in the room, yet not noticing the people emerging from the portal. "So, if you grow tired of hiding from people less gifted than yourself Utopia is the place for you. However, if you do not intend to join me then you may continue to live your life. I am only truly here for the girl."
  2. Mr. Taylor caught the gun and quickly placed it away. A part of him wanted to keep arguing for his weapons, but losing them wouldn't be a huge problem. No, the problem right now was this boy. He didn't know who he was or what he was all about. Worse yet, Mr. Taylor couldn't be sure of what his power was. He sighed and began to move his lips to introduce himself, but just as he began to talk a new villain decided to rear it's ugly head. Mr. Taylor watched as Cerberus himself it seemed appeared and decided to make some poor, annoying boy its snack. Of course this would all happen now, when he was so close to having everything he needed to pull off his plan. However, now was not the time. The plan was the only thing that was important to Mr. Taylor now and that would be next to impossible to pull off without being alive. "Enya, my dear!" Mr. Taylor called out, "Make the wall again and lock that creature in it!"
  3. It'll most likely have to come up soon. Mr. Taylor's past should become more fleshed out as we move through the RP.
  4. Oarloff shook his head at the wind templar. "Oh no, no, no Misturr Sigwurd. Misturr Buttons is very nice! He even gave me magical powers. Me thinks he was just being silly when he pretended to hurt you. If he was a mean goatie then me doesn't think you would be breathing right now." Oarloff smiled kindly at Sigurd, not realizing the possible insult he just gave the templar.
  5. Jude grinned as the man spoke. The fool had just shown him the way to the girl. The robbed man quickly dropped the tough guy walked and began rushing down the corridor to try and follow the speedster as best he could.
  6. Mr. Taylor watched as the boy passed boy him and took the gun off the rat. His generally cheery expression was absent from his face as he spoke to the boy, "I'm afraid I'm not okay with that lad. The spoils go to the victor and last I checked I was the one who gunned down the rat, not you." He quickly shook off the vigor in his voice and tried to return to his normal demeanor, "And besides lad, do you think it's really fair to leave an old man defenseless in this place? I'm afraid I have some ... soul searching to do after this and as such I can't just let you whisk away the chance to defend myself."
  7. Well said Murdoc. These are all very important things to remember in any RP, but I do have a few that I think can be added. 1. Ambiguity is important: When you're directly RPing with another PC or an important NPC don't actually follow through with an action. I.E. if you were to say shoot at another character, don't actually say that the bullet hit, just mention that you shot at said character and mention where your character was aiming. This gives the other player a chance to react and save their character, rather than just having you blatantly murder them. 2. When a rule is broken tell the other player, but tell them with kindness: Their are a lot of times when you can get in the way of another character's plans without even realizing it. Instead of getting upset about what the other player posted, just tell them with a friendly reminder. If you choose not to tell the other player about their screw up then they miss a chance to improve and to see what they did wrong and you lose the chance to take your character where you want them to go. We're lucky that we have an edit button on these forums and we should all use it if we do something that interferes with the over-arching goals of the RP. 3. Have fun: This is a hobby for everyone here, not a job. I don't know about you guys, but I certainly haven't seen any money come my way for the posts I've made here. So, enjoy yourself when posting and don't take what other players do too seriously. If they do something you don't like just talk to them about it and resolve the issue with kindness. No one likes drama, so don't cause any.
  8. Maximus brushed his hands. He'd just got done covering the hole he'd dug back up, hopefully removing keeping the group safe from whatever it was that lived in that hatch. He'd noticed while he was covering the hole that some frog had been hopping around doing something to everyone's weapons, but he had decided to stay out of it. The frog had left himself and his own lance alone and as such he'd decided to let the others deal with it. But, now it seemed as though Matrim was yelling at Aaron though for what reason, Maximus couldn't be sure. However, Maximus knew he'd enjoy watching Aaron get called out so he decided to make his way over to the rest of the group to see what the commotion was all about.
  9. Thanks guys. I know Mr. Taylor hasn't been around in this chapter as much so I figured I'd give him a nice 'welcome back' action sequence. Hopefully you guys get used to a more badass Mr. Taylor.
  10. "Oh yes Misturr Buttons!" Oarloff cried as he let go of his father and turned to face the God. "Me will do my best to help my new friends! Oh but, Misturr Buttons before me forgets, will .... will me ever see you again?"
  11. Oarloff couldn't hold it in. Big tears crawled across the ogre's face as he ran towards his papa, picking him up in one of the biggest hugs the ogre had ever given. "Oh papa! Does you really mean it. Oh, me will miss you so, so, so much!"
  12. Mr. Taylor's eyes widened. Of course the rat man was quick, but he wasn't quite quick enough. No, no one was quick enough to hit a target who could stop a bullet and that's exactly what the old man was able to do. His ability as he understood it was that he could return an object to a previous state and that's exactly what he had done. He took the bullet that Quincy had fired and shoved it back into his gun, as if the rat had never fired a shot at all. Of course this came with a loss of memory, but Mr. Taylor knew what he was up against. He had prepared to lose a few seconds before the fight even begin and fortunately for him, the last thing he remembered was the young girl saying draw. So, the old man drew his weapon one more time and fired. He didn't stop firing until his gun was out of bullets, hoping that this time perhaps the rat would go down.
  13. Mr. Taylor quickly flicked the gun up and shot directly at the rat's head. The shot felt good to him, but only time would tell if the shot hit.
  14. They'd have to catch each other off guard, I'd think. Though if the group behind us decides to join in I don't think it'll matter what we can do to each other.
  15. Mr. Taylor grinned as he heard Quincy's response. The old man glared directly at his opponent, not taking his eyes off of him as he called out to the group on the wall. "All right then. Enya my dear I suppose our friend here would like you to to do the count down."
  16. Jude picked himself off the ground and stared again at the man in the motorcycle jacket. "This will be the last time I turn a blind eye. Come at my again and only the lord will be able to save you." Jude began walking forward again, this time his steps seemed more irritated. He did just as he had done before and phased directly through the speedster, continuing down with the path without any hesitation.
  17. "Umm, me would like to," Oarloff began, "But, papa needs me at the inn. You have to ask him if me is allowed to help you guys." Oarloff said, unsure about his answer.
  18. Mr. Taylor grinned as he picked up the pistol. He stared at the pistol for a moment then looked up at the Rat, "Now, now my friend. How can I be sure that you haven't given me a faulty pistol?"
  19. Mr. Taylor watched as Phantom moved back into the Phantom zone. He couldn't be sure if the man was deserting them or had another plan. Either way though he knew that he and the rest of the group needed one thing. Time. "So, Mr. Rat Man, you fancy yourself quite the cowboy don't you? Well, in my day I wasn't a terrible shot myself. However, I seem to find myself without a weapon. Now, I do believe that a man who calls himself the best killer in the world wouldn't just kill an old man without giving him a chance. What sort of challenge would that be, my boy? No, I have a proposition I think you may be interested in. You see, back in the day a man could prove his honor by a process known as 'pistols at dawn', or a duel they may call it. If you're man enough to accept the challenge of an old man, then throw one of your pistols my way and let's begin."
  20. "Ah, so you're not alone," Jude said his eyes still glaring at the man in the motorcycle jacket. Jude took another step toward the man, he was preparing an attack it seemed, but Jude was not wavered. He knew that the gift God had bestowed upon him would protect him from any attack. "It is of no consequence." Jude was now close enough to feel the ground vibrating, hell he was close enough to feel the man's breath on his face. "Just remember this. When the forsaken children of God turn against our people, when we are persecuted for being the righteous few blessed enough to wield these gifts, when the corpses of the Awakened scatter across the Earth, Utopia will be there." Jude finally let a sly smirk, "You may not realize it yet, but your destiny lies within Utopia. You may still have fear, I understand, I too had the same fear. Then I was blessed, the Lord himself called to me. He told me I must be his right hand. That I must serve him in order to aid my people. And if I serve him then perhaps my people, our people, could finally find our salvation. That is my destiny, my purpose and I will not fail the Almighty." Jude gave the man one more stare, it only lasted a second, but his eyes said one thing to the man. Stay the hell out of his way. When the second had passed Jude took one more step forward. Then another. Before Ace could know it, Jude had passed through his body and was walking away from him. He didn't turn around once, he didn't even pause. Jude had but one mission now, he would find the girl and if the others interfered than they would be dealt with.
  21. Jude removed his cloak to reveal his face to his fellow awakened. He wasn't as dirty as he was when he had met Zweiss, but his look was still intimidating. A grizzled beard, a face covered in scars, and eyes as fierce as lions made up the face of the Utopian warrior and that face was now focused on the man who stood in his way. "I see. I have no desire to spill holy blood today, so perhaps instead of killing you I can interest you in another offer." Jude started to walk to the man in the motorcycle jacket, keeping his hands on his own sword. "I know of a place. It is safe for people of our kind, the chosen people. This place has a leader of course and I have seen within him an end to our conflict, an end to the suffering of our people. His gift is like none that I have seen, his courage and prowess for combat are beyond admirable. He is a gift, you see, a gift to our people, to allow us to sit upon the throne of the world, where our Lord has intended for us to be all along." At this point Jude was fairly close to the man, "I offer you this; help me take this girl back to the safe haven and perhaps you can join us as the chosen kings of this world."
  22. Jude cringed at the man's attitude. "Such a pity, to throw away your gifts for nothing." Jude sighed, "I have no quarrels with you, though I do believe that you have strayed from the path our lord set for us, that is not my mission now. No, my master requires a girl who have been blessed as we have. If you've seen her please point me in her direction. If not then stand aside."
  23. The world was blurry, Clint's ears rang. Suddenly, Clint could see one thing. It was Rocky carrying him to safety. Clint couldn't be sure, but it seemed like the tarmac had collapsed again, but this time he was caught in the middle of it. When Rocky finally reached Jory and Kenny he saw them ordering commands at some unknown target. Apparently some man heading for a helicopter. Clint tried to pull himself up, but couldn't. He looked back to Rocky whose face told Clint what his condition was really like. The Hitmontop's face was full of emotions and none of them were good. Clint couldn't help but to look down, despite the massive pain took to do. His right leg was currently bending in the wrong direction, his coat was covered in blood, he could tell from his breathing that at least a few ribs were broken, and he could taste the blood that must be running down from his head. Clint looked up desperately at the Hitmontop, "Jory ..." he muttered, only loud enough for Rocky to hear, "Get ... Jory." Rocky nodded and started to try and grab the other cadets attention.
  24. It appeared Jude's suspicions were correct. He wasn't the only looking for the girl. Up ahead their was a man, wearing a leather motorcycle jacket, and an unconscious police officer. Jude reached for his sword and leaned against the wall, ready to phase through if he needed to. "You there," he called out to the man in the leather jacket, "Are you one of God's awakened children?"
