  1. "Oh no you don't you big meanie!" Oarloff screamed as he charged at the gnoll. Though it didn't appear as if Oarloff was preparing to strike with his mace at all. Instead as soon as the half-ogre though he could make the jump, he leaped into the air and spread himself out as though attempting to body slam the creature.
  2. "Ouch!" Oarloff screamed as the Gnoll swiped at his legs. The blow made obvious contact, but it was not enough to bring the ogre down. "That hurted you big meanie!" Oarloff said while taking another swing at the Gnoll.
  3. Oarloff decided to make his move and swung his hammer at the nearest Gnoll, making a motion as though he were playing whack-a-mole.
  4. Mr. Taylor had been trying to keep a low profile on his patrol duties, but he couldn't pretend not to hear the conversation between Ethic and Ixidor anymore. He finally decided it was time to make a move. He rounded the corner and made himself seen. "Everything honkey dorey here fellas?" He asked doing his best to keep up the accent.
  5. Oarloff gulped. He pulled out Magni's old hammer and gripped it tightly. "Me ... me is ready." he said sounding a bit unsure of himself
  6. Oarloff decided to chime in. He had been silent up until this point, letting the others ask the important questions, but the half-ogre had waited long enough. He had never made friends with a gnoll before and it was about time he tried. "Oh me knows!" the ogre called out loudly. "They's can come with us. We can help them look for their friend and maybe they will help us find Miss Helzebeff's papa!"
  7. Maximus glanced over at Rodriguez. The bartender had told Maximus that he should trust Rossephus for his answers, but telling him of the primal keys? That seemed almost too obvious. "You can't expect me to be that dumb," the Ekarder said flatly, "I may believe you up to this point, but if you expect me to willingly give you the name of the person who holds the primal keys than you presume too much."
  8. Oarloff bit his lip. It was all the generally jolly fellow could do to hold back his tears. "But... but, we is heroes..." anyone could tell he was on the verge of breaking down, it was all too clear from his crackling voice and reddening eyes. The ogre grabbed Magni's hammer and gripped it tightly as tears started to stroll down his face. "If...if we leaves now does that mean we will come back? Maybe... maybe we can find help and then we can beat up these bad guys?"
  9. Oarloff glanced over at Helzebeth, he had had time to catch his breath and had also had time to take in what was going on. Unfortunately for the ogre, he didn't like what was happening, "But ... but what about the other peoples who live here?" Oarloff questioned the young ranger, "Won't they die if we leaves now Miss Helzebeff?" His voice seemed broken and scared, but not scared for himself, scared for the lives of everyone who resided in this town.
  10. So I came up with another justification for fighting types being at least neutral or better against dark types. Dark types are intrinsically sneaky, they rely on the failings of their opponents technique and cheap tactics. However a fighting type has been fighting for all of it's life, it knows all of the tricks that can be used on it and is therefore prepared for whatever the dark type will do. Basically, the dark type will be incapable of tricking or outmaneuvering the fighting type due to the extensive experience the fighting type has. Personally, with this explanation I think both fighting and dark should be generally not very effective against one another. Another match up to discuss is dark vs. grass. Grass types are almost all plant-like in some way, meaning they likely rely on photosynthesis. Since we've described dark types as being able to remove light from an area it would make sense that dark type attacks would be GSE against grass types.
  11. It's cool, maybe we can make the rapier a running gag for Oarloff. I also won't do any actual spells with Oarloff unless another bard/Bartimus teaches them to him. He may do a spell here or there by accident, but I don't see Oarloff being a benefit in battle for a long period of time unfortunately. A good goal he should be going for now is 'don't get himself or anyone else killed.' His usage for the group will be getting them out of tricky situations/getting others to possibly join them/generally cheering everyone up and being the heart of the group.
  12. Mr. Taylor looked around, trying to figure out what had happened, "What in darn blazzes just happened?" he said, keeping up his accent.
  13. Oarloff scuffled after the rest of the group, though all of this excitement was hardly any good for him. In all honesty Oarloff had very little idea of what was happening. There was a funny looking guy that everyone was talking about, but instead of making friends with him or even beating him up, he and his friends were always just running from him. In fact it was so confusing to Oarloff that he felt compelled to ask the group about it, but due to all of the running he was doing, Oarloff had too difficult of a time catching his breath to make any words come out. Instead he continued to clumsily run after the group following Dru to the treeline.
  14. I'm definitely upset about it. I wanted to have Oarloff pretend to be a pirate for a while, but Odin giving him Magni's hammer was way too emotional for Oarloff to turn down.
  15. "Ok papa, give me just a second." The ogre said as he stood up and quickly located the three most precious objects to him. Magni's Hammer that he had received from Odin earlier that day, Mister Button's Ribbon, and most importantly his harp, his last memory of a simpler time. "Ok, papa," he said after gathering his things, "Me is ready let's go." He said nodding to Abraham to lead the way.
  16. That's an interesting way to look at it. I always thought of dark types as more of tricksters, with nothing really biologically different about them, instead it was their fighting style that made them different.
  17. Oarloff's tone quickly changed from jovially eating his chocolate to worry, "Oh. Ummm is everything ok papa?" He said through a chocolate covered face.
  18. The ogre's snores suddenly stopped. Instead they were replaced by a long hearty 'Mmmmmmmm'. It was as if his body recognized what was going on well before his mind. The ogre stopped moving, drool started to drip from his mouth and without opening his eyes muttered the phrase 'Chooocoolllaaatttte....'. Immediately after saying the word Oarloff's eyes suddenly opened. "Oh papa! You got me chocolate!" The ogre screamed loudly. Chocolate was a rare commodity for him, but when his papa brought it home Oarloff always loved to eat it. The ogre snatched the chocolate from his father and quickly ate it, oblivious to anything around him.
  19. Oarloff continued to snore away. Anyone who knew Oarloff knew there was almost nothing that would wake the ogre from his sleep.
  20. Maximus sighed, "I have heard enough stories within the past few days of his story I'm not entirely sure of what to believe anymore. Some call him a hero, fighting against you, the enemy of the world. While other, less informed, people call him an enemy of the world. To be honest I can't say I don't believe in his cause, killing you or any of your puppets would be more than enough joy for me." Maximus couldn't help but smirk at his last statement, "What I do know is that he fought for what he believed in and you sure as hell made him pay for it every moment after he did that."
  21. "Fair enough," Maximus sighed. He had no intention of falling into Rossephus's trap, but at this point he didn't see what harm it would do if Rossephus at least told him what he had told Rodriguez. "Go ahead. Tell your tale beast." Maximus finally said as he turned to Rossephus.
