The struggle is definitely real. When I got frustrated, and it happened a lot, I actually had to go back and remind myself of what I wrote here. It sorta helped, but it didn't make Noel any less defeated. I just restarted on ep 11, and enough things had changed that I might need to ammend some of what I wrote here. Ffor instance, the Magikarp salseman in the beginning doesn't charge you into poverty--you instead need to shell out 500 dollars, and then go hunt down the asshole who steals your purchase.

Had enough liquid courage to beat Luna with the team I had. I should play Pokemon drunk more often. But ep 11's over so I guess I'll start a new game.

This Psychic gym is honestly starting to make me give up this game. How can a Malamar know FOCUS BLAST. And this field effect means I gotta deal with Rock damage, too? Fuck.

Why is Garbodor's Sp.Atk its lowest stat when ALL the moves it's supposed to be good at are special moves?

My Magmar rarely left my party. Empoleon is a great tank, and there aren't a good number of reliable Water-types, anyway.

I'm not quite understanding Radomus's ep 11 gimmick. Chess pieces super effective my mons, and I don't understand the mechanics.

Look at it. Look at it! Today I've finally gotten a soft spot for this adorably gross derp. Sure, I don't like using it in battle because of poor stats, but how can anyone hate this face? I hereby create a Trubbish character named Mikey. Mikey is bright and big-hearted, but gets picked on by all the other Pokemon at Poke School for being a stinker. He knows his species is far from the strongest Pokemon, but he nonetheless wants to evolve into a big and strong Garbodor to help the family business of cleaning up everyone's shit. This, however, is a tough journey, for no one wants to battle with him out of fear of choking on his mighty stentch (he can't help it if he gets excited!). He doesn't have a problem with his stink, but out of courtesy for the other mons, he frequently wears and chews on sweet-smelling herbs to offset his scent (though this usually just makes him smell like rotten strawberries...). But for all the teasing he endures, he doesn't blame anyone. He will work as hard as he can and hope that one day, a Pokemon will accept him for who he is--probably a nice Bidoof, who would probably be too oblivious to notice how much Mikey smells.

Leftovers aside, it doesn't get healed as far as I can tell. I managed to take it down with Gastly + Curse + Focus Band (took a few tries for it to activate, though...).

This is what I get for relying on nickaboo's videos to prepare for that Psychic gym. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

I'm probably just hoping a Focus Band will work. I'm not in the mood to do a whole ton of extra preparation for this fight, since I'm already preparing for the Psychic gym.

Actually, I just remembered I have a Gastly with Curse (and if it doesn't, I have some Heart Scales to make it relearn it). Would that do it?

First off, no, I'm not keen on just siding with El just to avoid a hard battle, and since I think Arceus has Leftovers, things like Destiny Bond wouldn't work, either. Arceus is level 80 and a god and he pillages my ass. What did you do to beat him?

Is Pressure implemented, by any chance? My Spiritomb has it, but I'm used to seeing that "[X] is exerting its Pressure!" message.

Don't you just love it when people act like they know what they're talking about, when they have no idea what they're talking about? Sometimes it makes more sense if I assume they're just trolling.

I do definitely feel we're in need of some updated walkthroughs. I didn't update to Ep 11 until roughly around the time I had to face Noel, and that's way late in the game, but if things are as changed as I keep hearing, then nickaboo's videos are getting more and more obsolete. I already got a taste of some outdated info when I tried to get a Magnezone to face Aya, only to realize it's impossible to do so on Ep 10 until way later... not to mention I hear there are some team rotations, like with Julia, and Aya and Florinia getting nerfed a bit (but getting destroyed by them is part of the Reborn experience!). Then there's all the field effects. As soon as I get as far as I can, I'll start a new game to get the proper Ep 11 experience.

To anyone who says cotton candy is bad for you, keep in mind it was the only reason a dragon was able to finish its fight with some ghosts summoned by another ghost. The life lessons Pokeymans can teach you.

That actually sounds pretty cool. It might be something rather only try on the official games, though. To me, Reborn's hard enough as it is--do I really wanna make it even harder?

What are Shards for, anyway? Can I sell them or do NPCs hoard them for weird reasons?

You just gotta mine for it. Evolution stones aren't exactly rare, per se, but the chances of getting the specific one you need is pretty low. I had to spend over an hour save scumming.
