Noel's team is full of chumps, easy to setup on, easy to sweep.

      Timber Dragon

Yeah. I had my Blaziken spam Bulk Up about five times, Speed Boost kicking in each turn, and pretty much destroyed Noel's team. Not even Staraptor's Brave Bird came close to fainting me.

      Congrats than!

  3. My Donphan carried most of the weight in that fight. Earlier in the game I caught a Phanpy, evolved it to Donphan, and used enough Common Candies to get it down to level 18. When it hits 19, it learns Magnitude, which is the poor man's Earthquake but still a powerful move. The reason you need those Common Candies is because Donphan evolves from Phanpy at level 25, and Phanpy can't learn Magnitude. Just keep in mind Aya's fight is a double battle, so I suggest bringing in some Flying-types or anything that levitates, or just anything resistant to Ground-types, since Magnitude hits everyone.
  4. I'm starting to give up on Noel. Seriously. I'm sick of this bullshit.

timber just use sludge wave on the field.. it stops pokemon from healing.. and ruins clefable.. would suggest toxicroak.. and if your really all that stuck can always try and get lucario..

At the rate I'm going, that might be my only option. I don't know when my Jolteon will hit 180 since it's already 48 and it might not make it within the level cap... maybe I'll try Escavilier since I need a decent Steel-type, anyway.

  5. Someone please destroy Noel's U-Turn Brave Bird burn + Facade spamming piece of shit birds.

Ame will feed off our despair, growing progressively stronger so she can torture us even more in a never ending cycle of hate and Pokemon. Pokehate.

      Noel is mean :c He broke the rulessss! He has a Fairy type in his team! It's not even Normal/Fairy >.< And he's PorygonZ is a pain to defeat :c So is his Swellow and Staraptor ;-;

    4. Timber Dragon

      Timber Dragon

It's his Swellow, Staraptor, and Clefable that are giving me problems. In my first playthrough the only, I mean the only way I got past the birds was to grind a Jolteon, waited until it was raining, and OHKO'd them with 100 percent accuracy Thunder. After finally getting a Scrafty up to speed just for this fight, now I gotta do it again with a Jolteon... ?

  7. Arceus was such a pain in the ass for me that I honestly just found the Gastly in Byxbyxklah; Wasteland, leveled it until it learned Curse, equipped it with a Focus Band, save scummed until it kicked in, and let Arceus destroy the rest of my team while Curse wailed on it.
  8. You may hate Garbodor, but Garbodor does its best.

He can, bro. My Drain Punch Garbodor is one hell of a fucking wall. Drain Punch, Black Sludge, and Stockpile.

      Vinny

Stockpile? Ooh... Might try a Garbodor in X/Y.

  9. tbh the only reason I pointed out the zigzagging plot is because during my first playthrough, I really really wanted that badge to raise the level cap. I didn't have many Pokemon in rotation and I was worried all the fighting I had to do was just wasted exp, and every time it seemed like I would actually get the badge, it's like, nope, other stuff to deal with first. Then my second playthrough gave me awesome fortune telling powers (psst! Kiki dies!) and it hit me just how much effort it took just to get Strength. Not that the stuff you had to deal with wasn't important and didn't contribute to anything, but geez gaiz i jus wan'ed mah budge!!1 ): I wondered about that too, but I just assumed Victoria managed to get off the island in time, before the Muk PULSE made it too polluted for even ships to cross. Kinda makes you think Cain should've been a little more careful riding nothing but a Muk. Because Ditto is the player of the Pokemon world. Talk to breeders; they know.
  10. Most of the type matchups make sense, but please explain to me Bug>Dark and Psychic.

      Ojama Yellow

Or maybe we can say there is no logic?

    3. Shamitako

      Shamitako

Bug>Psychic is because Psychic is about the mind and thinking. Bugs rely on primal instincts to do things, so they are able to outdo those who have to think first. Or at least that's the explanation I've heard, I like the fear thing better though

    4. Shamitako

      Shamitako

Bug>dark is because Dark types are about dirty fighting and tricks. Again, primal instincts thing. Bugs don't think very hard and are thus unable to be tricked in the normal manner (I.E. Bugs are too dumb to be tricked XD)

  11. We're on Gen 6 breeding mechanics, right? So the egg can get moves from both parents, and not just the dude?

    1. Vinny

      Vinny

Pretty sure 6th gen mechanics are not implemented.

  12. Apparently, instead of that RAAAAAAAWR coming from a vicious Pokemon as I had preciously speculated, it actually came from a hyperactive clown girl with a mallet as big as she is. Terra will be interesting to encounter.
  13. Which means Deino will be in Reborn, period? Sounds good to me!
  14. OP pseudo-legendary though it is, you have to admit Hydreigon isn't one that's dropped in your lap. Evolving one isn't the same as, say, evolving a Gyarados or Gardevoir, where all you have to do is some early game switch training and you have powerful mons who last you the rest of your Reborn career. But when it comes to Deino, if you want power, you're in it for the long haul. Deino doesn't evolve from its pitiful first stage until level 50. That's fifty levels of carrying around a mon that's nothing but a burden, taking up a slot that can be reserved for something you can send to the front lines. In Reborn terms, a grind to level 50 means you're around the time of facing Noel, who is in the last quarter of the current content. Not even Zweilous will be winning you many battles, and you're still 14 levels away from your goal. By the time you miraculously reach that level--64--you'll probably be finishing up with Radomus or about to challenge Luna, who's the final gym leader of the current episode. You go through that hell and you can't even reap the rewards until the very end, if that. OP, certainly, but isn't it an OP Pokemon you had to earn? You go through 64 levels of hell and you're rewarded for it. I think the problem people have with the likes of Gyarados or Gardevoir is how early and easily they're obtained, not because they're too strong. Getting Deino near the beginning of the game means players need to work with it from the very start, until the end. It's not cakewalk. So given the amount of work we'd have to do for a Hydreigon, I think at least that pseudo-legendary is worth considering.
  15. Hit it hard, hit it fast because you don't want that thing outspeeding you and spamming Ancient Power. I think I managed to take it down with Emolga's Acrobatics (you learn it fairly early and it's stronger than its Electric attacks, which Yanmega is also weak to). Of course, it's no guarantee Emolga will OKHO it and it might not be meaty enough to survive an Ancient Power. You can take advantage of Yanmega's 4x weakness to Rock with Rollout, if any of your Pokemon know it. I personally recommend Donphan since it's a reliable Pokemon overall, and it's durable enough to survive the attacks it's weak against, especially in this fight. Shelly doesn't hit particularly hard but she can easily overwhelm you if she gets the chance.
  16. I think leaving it as an early option actually entices players into getting it, and forces them to work hard if they want a Gyarados. Switch training early in the game is very cumbersome, so not being able to get it until later in the game means the hassle isn't there. That's actually a pseudo-legendary I can get behind if it's added in the beginning. You have to deal with 50 levels of working with a 300-base-stat-total deadweight, switch training it throughout the whole game instead of being able to actually use it. By the time you finally get its final evolution, you'll be nearing or at the end of Ep 11 so you can't even reap the rewards until literally the final stretches of the current content. If you want that Hydreigon, you'll damn well work for it. I think dealing with 64 levels of more-or-less uselessness is worth a great Pokemon.
  17. One of mine is Mr. Mime. I drop him around the time I get to the third or fourth gym, after I evolve a Gardevoir to take up the mantle, but he evolves from Mime Jr. early and his stats are among the highest I could get within the level cap. Trubbish is another one. Toxic Spikes help early on, but later I'm able to get reliable enough Pokemon where I don't need to depend on that strategy. He's a poor battler, anyway, so leveling him is too much of a hassle for me to bother with.
  18. On a scale of 1 to PAIN, how badly do you think Heather with her Salamence would destroy us if we fought her?

      Bluewolf

Bitch slap is super effective and Salamence drops like an earthqauke, in turn OHKO'ing Vinny.

  19. After you take out the ones on the sides, you gotta go through the gate you unlocked in the middle. Get to the left side, go down the stairs, and navigate to the center staircase.
  20. Don't do it don't do it don't do it for the love of god please don't do it please don't do it My hysteria might be a sign fof why they really should be taken out. But oh god don't do it don't do it
  21. NOOOOOOOO. WHYYYYY. GOD DAMN YOU AME. WHY DO YOU DESPISE US SO
  22. I didn't really question this at first, but I'm unclear on why the kids from the Orphanage--Charlotte, Noel, Anna, and by extension, Laura and Shelly--aren't on the front lines more often. It was Team Meteor's raid on their house in Tanzan Cove that made me question this. Why were only Saphira and Laura helping you fend them off? Everyone is a competent gym leader, and if the Reborn League lineup can be taken into consideration, Charlotte is in the Champion rank. And she was hiding with the rest of the kids. Wouldn't everyone be able to defend themselves? It's odd considering earlier in the game, Shelly helped you raid the orphanage to rescue Heather, and Charlotte, Anna, and Noel all held Dr. Connal and his goons at Pokemon-point. It's especially odd when you consider Charlotte's line that the player isn't up to her rank, even though the player is able to beat both Sirius and Dr. Connal. So it stands to reason, if the player is stronger than Sirius and Dr. Connal, and Charlotte is stronger than the player, then Charlotte is stronger than Sirius and Dr. Connal and could surely be a big help defending herself. Were they worried about the numbers? Could be, but with their combined power, surely they could handle themselves. It also seemed Saphira did a great job holding off most of the army, since only Dr.Connal and Sirius make it to the house, so there's even less worry for everyone. It bothers me a bit since I really want to see all of them in action in more often. They're interesting characters and they seem very competent.
  23. Oh god please not Gyarados please not Gyarados. It's one of the few mercies I have in this game. D: Of course, I'm not a hardcore players so I'm a bad judge for which Pokemon is truly broken, but... maybe Chandelure? That sp.atk is pretty insane... then again, you get it so late in the game and it has a good couple of weaknesses that maybe not.
  24. It's come to my attention that I have bad taste in music. Don't be hatin' fellas
