Well...it was a tiebreaker. See for yourself which starter I chose. And who knows? Maybe Chikorita's final evolution IS Venusaur. Wouldn't be the weirdest thing to happen. There are some occasions in which they do, yes. I know of at least two of them. Legendaries are also basic Pokémon, y'know. But the evolutions will mostly be logical, so Cyndaquil -> Haunter -> Magikarp is NOT going to happen. Also, not all evolutions have changed. If you tuned in to see every Pokémon evolve into something different...you could be disappointed. Most still do, though. Octillery Fucktillery yo. Yes, some Pokémon evolve into a Pokémon with a completely different typing, but the starters will keep their typing through their evolutionary line. I'm not saying they won't get a second type, though.
