  1. Ame's probably holding out hope that mega Hydregion becomes a thing by the time she gets to the final battle with Lin. At the rate things are going, we'll get there in like, generation 9, so Gamefreak has plenty of time.
  2. Got Mawile. Kinda weird that I'm a dude yet I'm a Pokemon that's based off of a woman in mythology. But if we're talking megas here I'm more than happy with what I got
  3. Well, turns out we didn't ever get any leaks about how battling works because up until now, the player was locked out of using gyms. But now they've been enabled in the beta, and we know what combat is like. As it turns out, the reason Pokemon have only two attacks is because one of them is a "standard" attack, and the other is a "charged" attack. Good news is, at the very least the battle system itself isn't a clone of Ingress. Bad news is it's not what you want, it's one of those "tapfest" kinda mobile games. Spamtap to do regular attack, tap and hold to do charge attack, swipe to dodge, and all these actions drain your stamina bar wich refills at about 20% per second. I gotta admit though, it seems to have more potential for depth and strategy than most tapfest games... Except that there are attacks that can't be dodged. What the hell devs, now everyone's obviously gonna use those over the Pokemon who can be dodged! The people who leak it claim it's funner than it sounds, tho. And I have to respect the devs for (seemingly) making it that you can only use items to heal when outside of battle, otherwise it'd be unfair towards the attacker. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that. This battle system is the attacking player vs the Pokemon who was set to defend the gym by another player, which is obviously computer controlled because the other player can't be expected to always be on the ready for someone to attack. While understandable, this makes it seem more and more that actual pvp does not exist... You can train at your own gym by fighting the Pokemon you set there with any other Pokemon you have. This seems to be for little more than practice, since Pokemon seem to not have levels. At the end of a battle the defending Pokemon goes back to full health, but any damage or fainting the attacker takes persists forever until the player does something. And since there are no Pokemon Centers, items are the only way. Yes, this even happens during training. When you attack a gym you select a team of six out of the Pokemon you have, and when a guy of yours faints you can send out more. This seems rigged in the attacker's favor, but it's balanced out by the fact that the battle can only last 120 seconds or you fail. That and the fact that afterward, you're gonna have to use items to heal all your damaged 'mons. The fighting itself is one on one, butit's suggested that in the full release it'll be three on three. Maybe the other slots are for two other players on your team? Because it sounds like it would be hell to manage 3 guys at once with this kind of battle system. And still Gen 1 only.
  4. The Doctor Strange trailer's kinda making it look like my worst fear was confirmed: that it would be 70% backstory and only 30 percent, well, Doctor Strange.

      Combat

Backstory can be good if done right, but I can't really say, since I'm not going to watch it and go in as blind as possible.

      Shamitako

As someone who is just being introduced to Doctor Strange, I welcome this

  5. So the leaker struck again and what he gave away this time is a real doozy:
  6. Huh, so it is. I made a point to check that things didn't swap floors between episodes, but I must have just looked at "Special 1" being in the right place and glossed over the rest. Weirdly enough, though, Ame didn't change the NPC who mentions that Focus Sashes should be on the floor with the consumable items. He's still on the 5th floor, even though it no longer has consumable items. Also, Great Ball's been added to Mid Tier stuff
  7. Remember the guy who gave out the entire Gen 5 Pokedex months before Black and White came out? And more recently, gave away the reveal of Fairy type a weeks before the official reveal? Apparently he's gonna strike again soon. Just because everything else he's leaked turned out to be true in the past though, doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna be true this time. So believe whatever he says at your own risk. Or maybe just don't listen at all, it would be a pretty big hype killer if he did something as big as with gen 5.
  8. Hey look, my sarcastic "prediction" was exactly right.
  9. Wow, I got a whopping 84,421 on the latest Shuffle competition. By and far the highest score I've ever gotten. But considering the prize cutoff's been reduced to the top 2,000, that STILL may not be enough...

  10. Corocoro should be dropping any day now. I wonder if we'll learn something, anything about the games this time around.

Something tells me it's not what it looks like.

  12. Another leaker popped up and gave away an interesting bit of information. Remember how they said in the press release that you evolve Pokemon by combining multiples their kind? Well apparently that's completely untrue. You're supposed to collect these crystal things and spend them to make your Pokemon evolve. Still no word on how "battles" are supposed to work, although it's been noted that out of all two hundred and something moves found in the datamine, every single one is an attacking move with the exception of Splash. This makes it seem even more likely to end up as some kind of automated mobile stupidity...
  13. Welp, the gameplay thing turned out to be a complete lie. The show was 29 minutes of people freaking out over Pokemon themed pencils, then they showed the same Sun/Moon "trailer" from earlier (as in the one that DIDN'T HAVE GAMEPLAY). The end. I wouldn't expect much from Corocoro this month either. It'll probably be like "hey these games are a thing and now tune in next month and maybe we'll actually tell you SOMETHING about them"
  14. You guys all got trolled. The gameplay trailer was a complete lie.

      Cepheus

well to be fair - They NEVER said anything about gameplay... just that it would be the first mentioning of Sun/Moon on TV :P

    3. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

I honestly wasn't expecting much to begin with so... I'm not really disappointed since it's jsut more nothing than I expected... out of all the nothing.

    4. Zargerth

      Zargerth

I learned my lesson with ORAS

  15. I don't think I've ever seen comments scroll that fast on a livestream. Not even on twitch plays Pokemon or the premier of Goku vs Superman.

  16. Only a few hours now until we can actually know SOMETHING about Sun and Moon.

    1. Shadow Roxas

      Shadow Roxas

      SnowGlaceon

Japan is about 13 hours ahead of the US, so there's that.

  17. Real talk tho, is there really no way to get out of the screaming cave and its surrounding areas?

    1. Fumble

      Fumble

@the people saying they're stuck, I think once you choose a destination you can't go back to the house to choose another. I went to every place, not saving after I picked one, and that was the case for me.

  18. Was doing fine on a certain level in Super Mystery Dungeon when I stepped on a trap that brought every Pokemon on the floor to me AND disabled my items. Needless to say I didn't stand a chance. Anyone wanna rescue me?

      Combat

I have. The game recorded that I took the mission, and since it got deleted, it won't let me redownload it.

      CURIE

Oh well. Don't feel bad about it, there's plenty of other places on the Internet for me to get rescued anyway.

  19. Suer Mystery Dungeon is quickly becoming the hardest game I've ever tried to 100%. Or rather, it's slowly becoming that, because it's taking me so freakin long to 100%.

    1. Hutch333

      Hutch333

I ended up trading it in because the leveling curve is WAY too steep.

  20. Um yeah, about that. You have to go to the boulder from the "Route 2" side, then push it, then go down the rock climb wall to get around the boulder, then go get the life orb. Yes, you read that right. You need Rock Climb. In other words you can't get it. There was a glitch I myself discovered in a previous episode to get around it, but I don't know if it still works.
  21. Just as a fair warning, even in old episodes with gen 5 breeding mechanics some TM moves just don't breed right. I know Echoed Voice is one of them.
  22. Wait, maybe if it's a tropical isle it's near Hoenn, and all those loose ends from ORAS really will be tied up after all? Please let that be it. I don't care about that one guy going on about diversity or whatever, I want to know why they put that random scene with Looker there. I want to rematch the gym leaders like they literally said I could. I want to know what AZOTH stood for. I want to fight Champion Wallace with his Mega Milotic, and most of all, I want construction on the battle frontier to be finished.
  23. Good news, you won't have to see a single Miltank. Because Miltank isn't gen 1. It's still possible that the other 570 Pokemon could be added by the time the game comes out, but after ORAS and its "beta" I wouldn't count on it.
  24. This seems to keep happening to you, Ame. Do you have some sort of medical condition or something?
  25. leaks have all but stopped happening, it seems Nitanic successfully destroyed everyone willing to share info on the game. However, we still have the datamine. From this we've found out: Pokemon are assigned 2 moves and you can't change them or add more. RIP battles. There are only 7 "natures": raider, assassin, stoic, guardian, protector, sentry, and champion. Again, RIP battling. Trading's a thing, at least. Local only though. Pokemon are divided into common, legendary, and mythical... Which is stupid, because this is gen 1 only. That means there's a grand total of 4 legendaries and 1 mythical, and the rest at common. Why even bother having that distinction. We still haven't figured out how the battle system works, but given the information above we can safely say it's not ACTUAL battling, but some crappy watered down mobile replacement. Which is probably done automatically, because that seems to be the way mobile games are these days.
