So apparently Shiny Mega Gardevoir is a thing in the upcoming movie. Gen 6 has had a really bad track record with movies so far (even by Pokemon standards) but gosh dangit I can't just NOT go see it if it has a Shiny Mega Gardevoir!

So now the anime has 4 new forms of an already existing legendary, a new mega evolution, an event legendary, and now an entirely new Pokemon, and the game they're all from is STILL. NOT. ANNOUNCED.

The Dialga-Palkia-Mega Rayquaza triple fight in Super Mystery Duneon is so awesome, it almost makes up for its absurd difficulty. Almost.

Minecraft's latest snapshots aren't too hot latley. Now Creepers can't one-shot kill you, and they've brought spam clicking back. I was glad they were making the game more difficult, but noooo they let the butthurt five year olds get to them again.

Now before you say this should be in the creative writing forum, this is for people who don't write fanfiction. If I posted this in the Creative Writing forum, which is pretty much about writing fanfiction, it would be kinda pointless. Anyway, chances are if you're reading this you've never written a fanfiction and probably don't plan on writing one anytime soon. While Sturgeon's Law applies to everything, this niche market of writers is probably the most notorious for its "ninety percent". Many people associate fanfiction with poor writing, wish fulfillment, and trying way too hard to be edgy. While there are a lot of really good fanfics, just like there's a lot of really good anything, the only people who ever really read them are avid fans of whatever the fics are about. And for most people, the idea of writing a piece themselves never crosses their mind. Well now let's say you have to write one, for whatever reason. What franchise do you choose? And what is your story about? Who knows, maybe you'll come up with an idea everyone here really likes, and might be encouraged to actually write it. I'll start. If I were to write a fanfiction, it would take place in the universe of Madoka Magica. It wouldn't actually contain any of the show's characters (except Kubey) and would instead be its own self contained story about characters I made up myself (except, of course, Kubey. You kinda can't have a Madoka Magica story without him involved). It would be about a guy whose girlfriend was a magical girl, and recently was killed in battle against a witch. But he doesn't know about any of that, and is investigating her mysterious disappearance. -
MLP season 6 coming this spring, I think that might be the shortest time frame they've had so far between seasons. Granted, season 5 was supposed to end in mid 2015 but the second half of it didn't air for half a year, so I guess if you consider that the hiatus seems like a reasonable time frame.

The best part of the Detective Pikachu thing is the subtitle: Birth of a new duo. They actually expect to make a franchise off of it.

Lol @ the explorers circlejerk in here. This game's superior in basically every way except the presence of special episodes (which were only in one of the three explorers games anyway) and maybe the story. You're letting your nostalgia goggles cloud your judgment.

The subject of the Super Bowl Pokemon commercial has been revealed: it's... Nothing. Not for any game, not even for Pokemon Go, no movie or TV special, just... Pokemon. They spent 7 million dollars on that, by the way.

Apparently the new president of Nintendo wants to bring back the 80s/90s style of having cartoons and movies for pretty much every video game ever. History's against him, but it would be cool if it actually works out this time.
