As usual, Nova talks too much. Yes, during the main game the sole canon mons will be Eevee and Ditto. But what about the post-game (where in theory one should obtain the National Pokedex)? We shall see...

I bought one of those toy guns that produce a small flag with "bang!" written on it, which looks identical to my actual gun. So yeah, pointing it at people who know I have a gun and pulling the trigger makes for some good laughs...

Welp, I could now make some hypocritical post about how I did this for the people and not for personal glory, but... Yeah, I do have an attention-seeking side ( I wouldn't write fanfictions or work on a project like Se7en if I didn't), so I am glad to see this pinned. On a more serious note, I do hope that this will be helpful for people who want to make a fangame: keep in mind that these guidelines can always be improved, heck I even added an entire point following a suggestion from Anvilicious once... So yeah, now that this topic has been revived, if you think that some points could use some improvement or that entirely new points should be added, please do post here

I have stated many times that this project does not NEED megas. That's the main reason. And Cepheus what's the point in coding in the Link Stone when we are designing all the evolutionary methods of our Pokemon ourselves? I mean, if I have to design, for a game that has no trade function, a Pokemon to evolve by trade so that I then must code in the Link Stone (thus effectively making it an evolution by stone), might as well make it an evolution by stone to begin with, using some stone that is already in Essentials, which saves time. This was the main reason for abolishing trade evolutions.

Yeah pretty much. Dark and edgy plot, field effects, Mega Evolution: all these elements have been used, by canon games and by Reborn/Rejuv, to add novelty and difficulty to the product. But with 150+ new Pokemon, each of which is completely unknown to the average player (as in, you have no way of knowing anything about them in advance), that's all the novelty and difficulty we need. I'll be honest here: our main focus are the fakemon. Our main selling point are the fakemon. Our target demographic are people who miss the emotions of playing RBY for the first time, and appreciate the fakemon. The plot WILL deal with rather mature themes (not revealing anything at this time), but if you are not in our target demographic, we will NOT try to win you over with Reborn-esque elements. Respecting Reborn is one thing, copying it is another: our product is our product, Reborn is Reborn.

Never has this franchise been this close to jumping the shark. And the whole Gundam Zygarde business (nobody commenting on how the shoulder plates have the colors of Xerneas and Yveltal?) might very well be the jump.

I would like to point out that I said "nobody guessed THE FULL SET". Which means, nobody managed to get 3 correct guesses. This may or may not mean that somebody did guess one single cry right.

Something I just noticed for the first time (yes really): in the entirety of the first Ar Tonelico, nobody EVER refers to Shurelia as "Shurelia", not even once. They ALWAYS refer to her as "Shurelia-sama", even when talking about her in her absence, the "-sama" is always there...

I have reached a part of Ar Tonelico where every single scene is crucial for the plot, so I'll stop posting screens to avoid spoilers. I wonder if I managed to create some interest around this game?
