    Lars looked over to Jory realizing what must have happened. "Was it... really that bad?" he asked quietly. He was unsure of how to act in situations like these. He wasn't much good at consoling people, being a happy-go-lucky kind of guy himself. Still, he could sympathize with Jory. He couldn't imagine what kind of state he'd be in if one of his GAOs was severely injured. They were like pets, in a way, but more... vicious. They became a part of your family once you got to know them, and just like a dog or cat, they bonded with you. "Maybe when Logan gets here..." he continued, dropping off the rest of the sentence into silence.

    "Lars, are you the lucky winner, or is my new friend going to show all of you gamblers up?" Lars shifted himself around to face the voice, still in a sitting position. "Oh, hey Jory," he said, a grin coming onto his face. "Well... I doubt that I win the size category, but I may just have a shot in a battle. My new guy has a few tricks up his sleeve."

    Lars sighed as he reached the gate, plopping down on his back. It had been a long haul to get back here, and he was beat. Just when he remembered that he had teleportation at hi disposal, the gate had come into sight... Still, he wasn't very confident that Sleepy would take him to the right place anyway, at least not yet. For now, the little guy just seemed to work on instinct. He looked up at the sky as he lay on the ground, his thoughts finally drifting back to the bet. He certainly hadn't caught the biggest GAO, but he might have a chance if they actually battled it out. The thing had proved that it was a difficult target... He moved to a sitting position, crossing his legs as he grabbed his capsules. He released Dominance and Sleepy, the former appearing at his side and the latter in his lap. He would have realeased his new GAO as well, but he wanted to keep it a surprise for when everyone else returned. Certainly, they'd be surprised by a ghost. Maybe even a little spooked. Speaking of which... he hadn't given the thing a name. He wanted it to be intimidating... it was a ghost after all -- an ethereal spirit. Maybe... Malice? It had a good ring to it, and it seemed fitting for a GAO with such a ghastly semblance. Malice, Sleepy, and Dominance. He had three now. He looked down at the two next to him and smiled. It appeared he was making progress in this place.

    "Well, I'm not going with the man who killed me. But, what will you do? I suppose it's your choice really, you can travel with an old man or with a group of valiant warriors such as yourself. Just know though, that whatever your choice may be, I don't blame you and I still thank you for saving my life." Phantom turned to the older man. He was silent for a long while, perhaps thinking things over. He was also uncomfortable traveling with the man, though Mr. Taylor wouldn't know that. He hadn't been alive at the time. He wanted to stay with the man, the person who he might have the greatest chance at becoming a "friend" with, but at the same time, could he really leave all these people to the same potential fate that Mr. Taylor had gone through? After a time, he spoke. These people would still have the advantage of numbers without him. Mr. Taylor, however, would be on his own. He would go with the man, for a time at least. He had already given the others the only warning he could, so there wasn't much left to say. "I'll... acompany you..."

    Sorry Murdoc... I feel bad about this because you're in a difficult position here, and I don't want to seem like I'm ganging up on you... But Phantom was actually there, and it wouldn't make sense for him not to do something right now. (Well, it might. I had originally intended him to be a neutral character, but he kind of got drawn into the group, at least temporarily, so that's why.)

    "Maybe you're the killer and you just need a convenient excuse in front of all these people? It seems like you know a lot about how to kill people secretly, and they always say that the thief is the one who guards his purse the closest." Phantom looked at the second newcomer. He was familiar, but not as much so as the others in the group. Still, he knew he had encountered this man, even if only once. He tried to think back to what Mr. Taylor had said. He had died... The memory came rushing back. Phantom had been there, he had seen the man's crumpled body pooled in blood. This man had been standing there, knife in hand. They had been about to battle when... the man had disappeared. Phantom stepped out from behind the others, putting himself in clear sight of the man. The masked man focused his gaze on the newcomer, drawing his sword from its sheathe and pointing it in his direction.. He wanted to give the others a warning, to tell them what had happened. But it was still hard for him to put the words together coherently. Instead, he gave the same message he had given the other two, a man and a boy who were not here right now. "Don't... trust..."

    It would be amazing if this turned into, "All hail Ixidor, he who creates food!" And he gets trapped there forever, feeding the starving...

    Phantom was about to respond to Mr. Taylor when the group was interrupted by another man. He was unfamiliar. He had not been present on the previous floors with them, at least that was what Phantom believed. He was suspicious for sure, having suddenly appeared on this floor, and he was armed. Phantom stood to his full height from where he knelt by Rose, placing his right hand on the hilt of his sword and readying his left to make a portal if need be. He spoke slowly, in his usual ethereal voice, seeming almost a whisper, yet filling the room. "Who... are... you?"

    Hmm... that's an interesting idea. Perhaps I'll do that...

    Phantom turned as the girl spoke, the eyes of his mask giving off their ethereal glow. "Who... am I?" he repeated quietly. He considered how to respond. He couldn't even begin to know who he was, so how could he explain it to another? He thought about giving the answer he would have given in the past: Phantom. However... he wasn't sure anymore. Perhaps it was Meridian who changed him, who inspired him to give the answer he would give now. "I'm... a friend."

    Which of the island Nations in Graterras would you most like to visit in-game? Probably the Land of Death. It seems like a place where Nero could confirm his outlook on the world, and it would be interesting to RP him there. Alternatively, maybe the Crystal Archipelago, since they seem to be at the peak of life. Perhaps it would change his view a bit if he went there. Which Nation would you like to most visit yourself if you were in the world of Graterras? I'd have to go with either Arbouretium or Pandora. Arbouretium because I love exploring forests and seeing all he wildlife, and Pandora because the name intrigues me as to what kind of place it is. Has you favourite NPC changed, if so who is it now?(still name them and describe why in a little blurb even if it didn't change, because your reason may have changed.) I think I'd also have to go with the Crimson King. As much as I don't trust him, I love his personality and character. Well done on that point. Has your least favourite NPC changed, if so who is it now? I'd still have to say Orpheaus. I guess I never really connected with him... The others characters just struck me as more interesting and deep. What do you think the significance is of the name of Chapter 3? No idea. Maybe they'll get rid of the sun and moon and stars and we'll live in darkness forever. Which PC do you think your PC gets along with best? Why do you think this is? Hmmm... He hasn't interacted much with the othersand when he has, it appeared that they had differing viewpoints. I guess Helzebeth or Dru since they're the only ones he hasn't interacted with. (It's sad when you have to say that, but that's just Nero's character.) I think he'd get along better with Helzebeth than Dru though, since they're both kind of loner types. (Though Helze is coming out of her shell more quickly than Nero it seems.) Which PC does your character get along with the least? Why do you think this is? (keep it civil folks.) Either Sigurd or Marcus probably. Marcus especially disagreed on the honor issue, and Nero just had the issue with Sigurd about the Crimson King. Chapter 3 is going to be more of a Character development sort of Chapter, do you like these pauses in the action? Yeah. It's a nice break, and character development is always good. I'm interested in learning more about your world. Who or what do you think Bjorn's friend in Nevermore could be? THE GENTLEMAN'S BROTHER!!!!! DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUNNNNN!!!!!! Honestly, I have no clue. Is there anything you think I can improve upon? Not really. This chapter went very well all around, and I was pretty satisfied. EDIT: Also, you said earlier that you would probably allow Nero to learn invisibility at this point. Is that still ok? If so, how should I go about that...?

    Phantom stopped at the side of the new corridor, crouching down to gently lay Rose on the floor. The smells in the air were... familiar. And welcoming. Perhaps they held a clue as to who he had been before. Still, they would have to wait. The girl had yet to wake up, and he wasn't about to leave her like this after taking her this far. It just seemed... wrong. He knelt by her side, allowing the others to catch up while they waited for her to wake.

    I was just about to say something about this. I just imagined Logan down there yelling at his Monferno like, "I'll kill you if you don't get up now and fight!"

    The beast had stopped before hitting the pillar, realizing the human was off of its back. Just as it had began to turn around, it was engulfed in flames. There was a mighty roar as the beast whipped its arms outward, dissipating the fire. It's fur was charred, but it was hard to tell exactly how much damage had been done. It began slowly lumbering towards the elven mage, flames sputtering from its open mouth. --------------------------------------- Rhea crouched by Jory. "Are you all right?" she asked, a worried look on her face. "I can help if you need it..."

    "A Manor huh? Must of had some Money then. Wonder what is like to have a permanent home sometimes." "Wealthy..." Nero began. "Yes... you could say that." He was drifting back to thoughts of his past, revisiting memories that he hadn't stirred in years. He continued absentmindedly. "It was good, for a while. Up until the raid. Then everything fell apart..." His eyes were distant, not really focused on anything in particular. He probably didn't even realize he was still talking.

    We should do players vs. PT's sometime. Just putting that out there. We could switch roles like every other game if anyone's interested.

    Nero glanced around as they walked towards the city. "Snow..." he thought, catching a flake on his finger. "A comfortable element for one such as myself, a Darkwinter. And the city's name itself appeals to me. Perhaps I will find it more suitable than our last stop." "It occasionally snowed back home..." he mumbled to know one in particular. "Back at the manor..."

    The beast roared as visions of the elves appeared before its eyes. They had fallen to it, just as these humanoids would. There was a visible struggle as it tried to move its legs, the binding appearing to have worked. It let out a roar of pain as Roland's knife once again plunged into its neck. The creature's eyes began to glow a brighter red as flames poured out of its mouth and nostrils. It reared back with Roland still atop of it, spreading its arms and releasing a deafening battle cry. It charged with unbelievable speed towards a standing pillar, breaking the binding spell placed upon its legs. It lowered its head as it ran, attempting to smash Roland into the pillar with a headlong ram.

    Also, largely due to the massive drop of people in this RP as well as other issues, I'll be posting up a proposal after we finish this chapter. The decision will rest almost entirely on the remaining members of this RP, so just be watching for that.
