Danielle, a Coordinator from Kalos with manners, was someone he liked. Slade, who felt the need to call himself a man while wearing a ridiculous fedora, wasn’t in the same category. And yet the two seemed to be dating… why? Maybe two opposites do attract… Pierre wondered if the same would happen to him and a picture off Sarah Jones came to mind. He immediately shivered at the thought and cleared his head. It’s not like RoG would allow a relationship anyway. Still, Pierre was interested in other human relationships. He mounted the Ponyta and quickly made his way to the stage, curious about his competition as well. Jory and Azery (and basically information everyone can use) “You really don’t get it, do you? I doubt you even know Henry like I do! He’s all talk and acts like he knows everything and tries to be the bad boy from Orre, but every single time he backs down again. I get why people don’t like him! It’s not because of the Skitty, but the way he acts and battles. He thinks he’s so good and all while his Pokémon do everything. He doesn’t even command them! So don’t think I’m underestimating him. I did my research on every single competitor left!” Kristen revealed. She took the tournament very seriously and had used every source available. She even want out of her way to see most battles in the preliminaries. And there was one more source. It was a tradition in the Academy that aside from the rivalry between the Programs, there was also Competitor Ranking. “First years usually don’t know about this until right before the Cup, but for those who do know about it; the information is priceless. Every battle you ever fought since entering the Academy is recorded. All of them are open information, but the Competitor Ranking is a summary of everything. All you have to do is log-in on a computer with your ID and search for the Ranking. It’s a website made by a small group of students and every year they select newbies to help them out. The teachers and even Professor Redwood know it exists. I bet they already updated the new matchups and calculated the possible finals and percentage every student has to win the whole thing. I checked it out last time before the matches were announced. Jacob and Mareek are the ones amongst the first years with the best chances to win. Overall battling, grades, strategy, Pokémon, … everything is in their favor. Jacob has the slight advantage because he won his earlier battle and rumor goes that Mareek isn’t very interested in winning. Evan, Kage, Claude and Slade are considered the main outsiders and so on.” Kristen took a step back from James and looked at him with disgust. “I’m ranked below Henry and Danielle. So there’s no way I will underestimate him, but I won’t lose. And as for you; I looked up every battle since the trip to the Boulder Hills. The Ranking said Kage threw the battle because he didn’t feel like pushing his Pokémon like you did. Your rank is in the bottom half... And let me give you one last piece of information about a special rank. They calculated people that are most likely to eliminate themselves. The major factor in this one is stress and being able to keep a clear mind when there are thousands of people looking at you. Another factor is how you handle your Pokémon. You rank third in that list. Only Slade and Kenny are higher then you. Henry ranks last so it’s unlikely he will make a mistake because of pressure.” Stratos “Sure, I wanted to go anyway. I’m interested in what Danielle and Claude are going to do!” Lana’s head was barely visible behind the counter as she accepted the box Zared gave her. “I’ll put this away first.” *********************** The activity around the stalls died down as almost everyone made their way to the Coordinators’ podium. Marco was standing on said podium and smiled towards the gathering crowd. “Find yourself a seat, because we’re about to start in five minutes!”

He usually didn’t understand jokes like this and when they came from people like Slade he didn’t even try. “If you feel the need to call yourself a man; go ahead. It tells me you are nothing but a little insecure boy… Do yourself a favor, grow up and do something about that ridiculous clothing style. Maybe then I will take you seriously…” He then turned back to Danielle. “Now, Mademoiselle, I believe you asked me if I am from Kalos. I am indeed. I grew up in Lumiose City! Where are you from if I may ask?” Jory and Azery That did it. “Like you should talk, little kid!” Kristen snapped. “I don’t remember you winning a battle; instead didn’t Kage forfeit because you don’t know how to handle your own Pokémon? Or was it because it would be a boring fight? After all, you are no competition what so ever!” ************* In the meantime the third years started to gather the Coordinators. Since they had to perform for the Winter Cup there was a special stage placed outside between the actual school building and the Training Facility. ((All Coordinators can gather up out of their free will. When everyone is at the stage I’ll start the show.))

He is, but he joined too late to participate. That's why he won't make an appearance in the show or the Cup. The other two also aren't going to participate. (Both trainers)

You can do that if you want. Or do a recap of what happened but I'm not going to bother doing every battle in the right order. Henry vs Kristen is the opening and after that I don't care. I'll just initiate the battles I'm going to do.

A random NPC that I'm not controlling. The only battles I'm doing in the first round are those with Kristen, Lana, Alvin and Evan.

The prizes go up when students had the change to earn some BP. I'd say everything costs 1/3 the amount compared to the games. Students should have enough to buy supplies for their Pokémon by now. Unless they are like Evan and barely gain BP with their schoolwork.

He will be when he gets the chance to talk to Claude. He won't be a rival though. As far now I'm just going to have some fun with him. The main reason he ignores Slade is the Fedora. And I don't picture Slade as someone who spents time thinking about what he's going to wear which would catch Pierre's eye.

He quickly rode over and jumped off the Ponyta. “Bonjour, Mademoiselle, I apologize for the interruption but I saw you from afar and couldn’t resist coming over and admire your beauty from up close.” he kissed her hand and gave her the rose he carried around. “My name is Pierre Deborsu, at your service!” The blond boy completely ignored Slade. Jory and Azery Kristen’s loss against Danielle still haunted the redhead. Every time someone, or something, reminded her about the battle her anger rose quickly and she would snap. Unfortunately for poor James he was caught in the crossfire. “Humpf, please! Like a little boy like you could hurt us!” her face was really close to James’s as she poked him with her finger. “Next time I’ll show you something really scary!”

Sigurd observed the Gnoll Chef for a few moments, not wanting to interrupt with the meal preparations. “Say, Curfew,” he said when he couldn’t keep his mouth shut anymore, “why did you decide to run on your own instead of waiting for your friends? Surely you knew they would come after you…”

I'm going to limit the first year to only 6 Pokémon. Leveling up will go a lot slower if you have multiple Pokémon.

She returned back to her normal voice and frowned. “There really are a lot of students with a dark future here…” she muttered to no one in particular. She didn’t mind him holding her hand and willingly went with him. “I don’t know who James is, but we can always get him back later,” she said with a wink. She turned around when Jacob mentioned the new battle matchups. “Just be sure you don’t lose before I get the chance to beat- WHAT? Henry and Danielle are in the same block as me? Oh my god! The two most annoying people out of all of the possible opponents I could draw!” The redhead wasn’t really happy with her schedule but now she could at least get her revenge. She sighed and calmed down a bit. “Well, at least Henry is all talk… He doesn’t stand a chance with that Skitty of his!” Commander (Henry’s Dad) and Stratos (Mareek) Lana smiled a little when she heard Mareek talking about his future plans. If anyone was to change the International Police she was sure he could do it. Her own personal dreams weren’t as big as she just wanted to inherit her family’s business; the leading experts when it came to breeding Ground types. She was about to reply when the man with the Suicune statue suddenly exploded in anger and turned silent. Apparently the International Police was a difficult subject for a lot of people… Stratos (Galen) “If you don’t like it why are you still talking to me? You could’ve left after your little performance. I think I saw some weed at the other end of the Academy Grounds, so why don’t you go do your job?” This guy was annoying Evan. He still hadn’t made up his mind about what he wanted to do and confronting this Spanish Gardener wasn’t helping. His tone turned hostile as he just glared at the man in front of him. ************************** When the sky started to get darker, the decorative lamps on the stalls light up. The clock struck 6 times and at the gates someone was creating a scene. Pierre Deborsu, one of the new students, was completely dressed in a white suit. His blond hair rested on his shoulders and his blue eyes gazed through the crowd. He loved all the attention he got, especially from a few females. He held his head high and put a rose in his mouth. His Ponyta’s mane was blazing full power but didn’t seem to scorch the boy that was on his back. On the contrary; Pierre placed the rose back in his suit and opened his arms like he tried to hug everyone gazing at him. “Ymora Academy, I, Pierre Deborsu, have arrived!” All attention was drawn to him as he rode over to a certain face painting stall. No one, not even the elder students, noticed Madame Plumeau arriving as well. The head of the Coordinator program quickly left to catch up with Professor Redwood.

Only his silhouette is visible and it contains the Wings of a Steel Bird. He's painted in the color of Revenge.” The Psychic type lost connection with her trainer as her link was broken. It took too much out of her powers to keep going. She was panting heavily and it didn’t look like she could tell any more information. Jory and Azery “I’m fine,” Kristen chuckled. “But I can’t see who’s doing this. Do you have some sort of a plan?” Commander (Henry’s Dad) and Stratos (Mareek) “That’s impressive,” Lana said louder than she expected. “I don’t know how strong the Unova Elite Four members are, but the current Ymora members never lost a battle against a challenger before…” Stratos (Galen) “I destroyed that letter a long time ago and I kept the stone because it’s valuable and Eevee was looking forward to evolving in a Vaporeon. Anyway, the only reason I didn’t give that letter to the Professor is because your organization promised me information about my father,” Evan said the last word with clear disgust in his voice. “Anyway I won’t help you if you don’t keep your end of the deal…”

That's how it works. That's why he looked so powerless when the Swellow took the club. Items aren't allowed in battle. I never thought Marowak's club counted as one so I made a change there. Avis's eviolite is removed before every battle, but it helps with endurance training.

Depends what you want to trade for. Also that means the other 3 are the Pokémon James has to use. If he only trades now he didn't have the time to use his new Pokémon in the tournament.

I'll switch Lana and Alvin. It doesn't really matter since I planned to lose against Snap anyway. (I tend to do that with all NPCs unless someone wants to lose early)

If Murdoc and Commander agree I can switch Kage and Henry.

This time I randomized everything. And since there was one extra PC I randomized the last one (Kage) to match him up against someone else. I did the same with Lana, Alvin and Kristen.

It was obvious it wasn’t the Old Woman who spoke. The weird vibe immediately stopped when the Gothitelle closed her eyes and seemed to be exhausted. The Old Woman wasn’t aware anything happened and kept staring in her Crystal Ball. “I see a third person in your relationship. He will influence it somehow, maybe a love rival? I also see a Murkrow with hostile behavior towards this boy…” The Old Woman had no idea she saw the person linked to the Skarmory her Gothitelle warned the young couple about. Jory and Azery Kristen just nodded. To be honest she found the situation really enjoyable, being so close to Jacob. Commander (Henry’s Dad) and Stratos (Mareek) “Oh Mareek! Yes, they have been a big help like usual,” Lana replied. Her eye fell on the Bisharp behind him. “Is that Bisharp your mother’s Pokémon? I’ve never seen a shiny one before. He looks intimidating…” Stratos (Galen) “If I gave the letter to a teacher I would’ve had all eyes on me the entire time. I didn’t want that and a water stone is expensive… I had no idea there were evolution stones available for free in the lab,” Evan lied. He refused to listen to the man in front of him, especially since he mentioned the thing Evan was afraid for; maybe he did want to join them. ********************* Suddenly the big screen turned on again. Marco’s face showed, with his usual big smile, as he spread his arms. “Ladies and Gentlemen, I have an announcement to make. One of the competitors dropped out due to illness. Kaito, a competitor in Block D came down with a fever and won’t be able to battle. This means Caleb, the runner-up, will take his place.” A picture of Caleb Shomo was displayed for a moment. “This also means we’re going to randomize our battles again! We want everyone to have a fair shot and know their opponents at the exact same time!
