    Sigurd – Frontliners The boy, Timothy, reminded Sigurd how he used to be in the past. He too was always excited and wanted to join on raids. His stepfather never allowed him, saying that the battlefield was no place for kids. That’s why Sigurd picked up a bow in the first place. So he could stand somewhere safe but still participate in the raids. When Olaf, his stepfather, saw that for the first time he burst out in laughter. Not only because Sigurd had no talent to be a ranger, but because he was cheeky enough to find a way to join the raids. That was the very first time Olaf said he was proud to be his father and gave him his first sword. Sigurd smiled when he recalled that and turned his attention back to Timothy. “My swords aren’t pretty and shiny like Orpheaus’ sword,” he said. “Mine are plain steel and a piece of art. That’s true beauty when it comes to swords; they need to be strong, just like their wielders. That’s why mine are better.” He said that last part with a large grin. His swords were his pride and he loved to show them off. “Here, take a look. But be careful, they are sharp.” While he showed his blades, still holding them for safety, he turned to Bjorn. “What’s your story, old-timer? How did you, a fellow Northman, end up here?”

    Sigurd – Frontliners The argument between Chauff and Bjorn was very entertaining. Sigurd walked right behind them with a smile on his face and doing his best not to laugh. “Ya, it’s always nice to stretch out before a battle. It’s not necessary since I’m always ready, but just to be sure,” he said as he grabbed the nails. “Are you a fighter like mister Orpheaus too?” Sigurd turned around. He didn’t like to be compared with that shiny showoff. He was about to say something when he noticed it was just a kid who asked the question. “Yes, I am. The name is Sigurd. Who are you and shouldn’t you be hiding in a safe place right now?”

    When the world around him went black, Eugene panicked. Is this that guys doing? Is he going to kill me? Why? His heart started beating faster while he tried to find a way out of the dark. Suddenly he heard a voice, which made him jump. “Come now, you aren’t gonna just run, are you? Surely you wouldn’t underestimate us that much…” Eugene tripped and fell on the ground. There was another one besides the shady guy. What did they want from him? And how long had it been since he last used his power? He tried to rewind time, not that he had any idea on how it would help him, but it failed. Panic started to take his mind over as he yelled: “Who are you and what do you want from me? I never did anything to anyone so just leave me alone! Please! Don’t kill me!”

    Sigurd - Frontliners Sigurd was laughing hard at the old geezers’ discussion. He found them very entertaining and still had a smile on his face when Bjorn asked Sigurd to get some nails with him. He was about to follow the old man, when he turned back and faced Chauff. “Why I use two swords? Watch me in battle and you’ll know,” he said with a grin. “And it’s just like your friend said. We, men from Aurora, believe plain steel gets the job done.” He unsheathed his swords and showed them to the man. “Beautiful, aren’t they? These treasures allow me to cut down twice the amount of enemies at the same time. That’s why I dual-wield; freedom of movement and fast attack power. There is no need to hide behind a shield. All men die in battle; just give them a quick and honorable death.” He put his swords back and looked at Bjorn. “Now about those nails; just show me the way.”

    Logan had watched all the previous battles carefully. He was eager to have a battle with his GAO and he knew they thought the same thing. Especially Crush was getting impatient. The turtle was still as cocky as when they first met, but over the past months it started to listen to Logan. Recently, after it had evolved, it started to disobey from time to time. Logan knew the Wartortle, as Oak called it, was excited. Crush wanted to be strong and his evolution was proving that it was growing. So every now and then the turtle tried to test Logan to see if he could handle its new power. Logan just hoped that this wasn’t one of those moments. Ace, who was the first to evolve, gave Logan no trouble when it came to following his orders. Unfortunately the Monferno had a mayor increase in its hyperactivity level. It had trouble sitting still and sometimes tried to sneak off to pick fights with whatever it found. Ace also had developed a secret one-sided rivalry with Clint’s Rocky. Logan had seen how the fiery monkey copied Rocky’s training from time to time. He left Ace doing his thing but had suggested to add his own elements to it. The result was a weird fighting style using his surroundings and punching his opponents at blinding speed. When the General called for Lionel and Enyo to step up, Logan wasn’t happy. He hoped he could’ve fought Lionel again. But the General had decided to give him the worst opponent possible. Logan looked at Kenneth from the corner of his eye. He didn’t know much about the guy or the way his GAO fought. Logan whispered to his GAO. “This battle is a test of our teamwork. So you two stop fighting for once and listen to me,” he said. “If we don’t do this as a team, they will fail us and we won’t get any stronger.” He looked Crush in the eyes when he said that. The turtle nodded and turned back to the fight in front of them. Logan followed the example while trying to come up with a strategy. Maybe going last and knowing your opponent before the fight wasn’t that bad.

    That's mainly me being a noob and the way how I see Sigurd. The way Orpheaus was dressed was the complete opposite from how Sigurd was raised, so he wouldn't believe someone like that has any skills. Anyway, sorry for the late post. My internet is being a pain right now.

    Sigurd - Frontliners These Victonari are ridiculous. First Orpheaus showed off and then Brass scolding him like a little kid. Who do they think they are? He was Sigurd, son of Olaf, Chief of the strongest village in the harsh north where true men and warriors are raised. There is no place for the weak since they die from hunger and cold. The only way to survive is by hard work and raids. And Sigurd was proud to be a true Northman. He would show them what it means to challenge his pride and skills. He followed his companions without saying anything to Brass, but when Orpheaus gave them orders he didn’t move. “I may be stationed here because my skills are needed to defend this gate. But I don’t take any orders from you. I will help wherever I see fit, but only because I decide to do that,” he said with arrogance and venom in his voice. With that said he took off and helped the villagers with repairing things. Ever since Sigurd was old enough to help around in the village, he had been repairing and building fences. Before he became a Templar it was his only way to get food; by contributing whatever you can do for the benefit of the village. Even at the Temple he did most of the chores. Just you watch. I, Sigurd, son of Olaf, will start making a name for myself so that it may reach my village, the heavens and the Goddess Aelia. And I will make them proud.

    When the car door opened, Eugene’s heart skipped a beat. He thought the police had finally found him. He couldn’t outrun them this time and he couldn’t use his powers yet. He had no idea how long it had been since he last used them since he had no watch. But he knew it hadn’t been an hour. Eugene stared at the man in black with fear in his eyes. The man didn’t look like a police officer, but he looked shady and powerful. Definitely not the type you mess around with. “W-who are y-you? W-what do you w-want from me?” Eugene mumbled as he tried to get even further back in the car. His hand found the doorknob on the other side. As soon as he heard the words ‘Help us to rid this world of the rest’, he panicked and tried to open the door. This guy is dangerous. He wants to kill people. I can’t kill people! I never even stood up for myself. I don’t want to get involved! When the shady man was done talking, Eugene finally opened the door, fell out of the car and started running as fast as he could. He didn’t look back as the only thought in his mind was to get away as far as possible.

    Eugene was scared. The police had found him while he was searching for food in trashcans. On his very first day on the run he was scammed out all of his money. He had no food, water or a place to sleep and a part of him just wanted to give up. But he kept running. He was too scared about what might happen if they caught him. And now he was running again. It was all he knew. After all he had been running away from his problems his entire life. He ran as hard as he could, which wasn’t that fast, while the police yelled something at him. Too scared to listen, he took a left and came eye to eye with a fence. He knew he couldn’t climb it or turn back. The left was a dead end. Trashcans were standing in front of a big wall with graffiti drawings on it. Can’t go that way. Eugene turned to the right and after only a few meters he saw he ran into a trap. Police cars had barricaded the only exit. The officer closest to him yelled instructions. Eugene did what he said and raised his hands. It’s over. I’m done. They are going to torture me and kill me slowly. And why? I never did anything to them. I never harmed anyone. Not even my bullies because I was too scared. And now I’m going to die… No. Not yet. Eugene had no idea where that resolution came from but he refused to give in. He stopped his hands mid-way and closed his eyes to focus. 15 seconds is all I need. Small blue ripples started moving at Eugene’s sides. Some moved forwards, other backwards. He could see them even with his eyes closed and when he opened them, he was in front of the fence. The only way to get away was go over the fence. But he couldn’t climb it in 15 seconds. Desperate he looked for another way and found one. At his left, by the trashcans, was a small opening in the fence. Eugene moved a trashcan in front of it before crawling through on his hands and knees. He was just on time. As soon as he started running again, he could hear the police yelling in surprise as they ran into each other. Four minutes later Eugene found a junkyard. He looked around a bit for a safe spot and saw a bunch of old cars waiting to get demolished. He crawled into the back seat of the middle one and felt his body freeze. Eugene prayed he the police wouldn’t find him for at least one hour and fifteen seconds, because without his power, he wouldn’t stand a chance.

    There was something about Orpheaus that made Sigurd angry. He had trained all his senses at the Temple and knew a warrior shouldn’t rely on sight alone. But he still found it ridiculous that someone would close his eyes by choice. Or maybe he thought that because it was Orpheaus’ style. Sigurd walked toward the table while still mumbling words as ‘showoff’ and ‘ridiculous armor’. “Place me in an area with lots of enemies. I need to cut something badly,” he said to Brass with an angry voice.

    Character Name: Eugene Smith (A.K.A Déjà Vu) Gender: Male Age: 16 Ability of the character: Time Rewinding. Eugene can rewind a small amount of time. Most people (those without powers) won’t notice it and experience a déjà vu. However those that do realize what is happening, can alter their actions if they want to, which triggers a new series of events with people affected by the alteration. After the use of this power, Eugene has a 5 minute window to act. After that his body shuts down and he can’t move for the same amount of time he altered. He also can’t use it repeatedly; only once every hour after he can move again. Eugene’s limit so far is altering 30 seconds which took a lot out of him mentally. Appearance: Short brown hair and green eyes, small (5’1) for his age. Usually wears blue jeans and a red sweater that seems too big for him. He also wears grey glasses. Personality: Paranoid, tends to panic easily as he doesn’t stand up for himself. He hates most people, but tends to be dependent on the few people he trusts. Background: Eugene didn’t have many friends at school. He was bad at almost every sport and has no fashion sense. Combined with his looks people stereotyped him as a nerd. He was bullied for years which made him lose all self-confidence and stay away from people. Eugene preferred to spend his Saturday nights at home playing videogames. A few days after the Pillar appeared, Eugene’s few friends got beat up while trying to stand up for him. He didn’t do anything and just watched. Afterwards he felt horrible and decided to stick up for himself. The next day he got into a fight with his bullies after school. Eugene got beat up pretty badly and some kids that were standing around were filming it. Suddenly they witnessed a car crash not too far from where they were. Eugene’s reflexes made him jump back with his hands protecting his face, even though the car couldn’t hit him. While he jumped back, he felt like only he was moving and saw small ripples around him. At first he had no idea what was going on. He had the feeling he was reliving the last 10 seconds before the car crashed so he knew what was coming. He dodged a punch, yelled ‘Car crash!’ and ran away. Few seconds later the car crashed exactly the same as it did the first time. Unfortunately for Eugene everything was caught on tape and shared on the internet. The government found the video and tracked him down. They tried to arrest him at his parents’ home, but Eugene had already left. Since everyone is tall, strong and handsome, I thought being the opposite would be nice.

    If I'm not too late with signing up: I have an idea for an ability but it might be Sue-ish. So I would like to have the opinion of some experienced RP'ers before I make a character. Abilty: Time Rewinding (small amount of time only) I had this idea when I had a déjà vu moment. Basically my character can rewind time and people not aware of it will experience a déjà vu. Those people will do exactly the same as they did the first time, but people who are aware of it can change their actions. So they can run to the left instead of the right, which will trigger an entire new event (and also affects everyone involved). My character can only affect a max amount of time. And every time he uses it, he has a 5 min window before his body shuts down and he can't move. The duration is the same as the amount of time he rewinded. (Not exactly sure where the limit should be. I was thinking 10/15 min?) I thought it would be interesting to use. If it's not allowed / stupid / ... let me know and I'll probably go for something like gravity control.

    This was getting ridiculous. Orpheaus was looking down on Sigurd and it pissed him off. Not only did the Victonari keep his eyes closed, but he wasn’t planning on using his magic either. Sigurd felt his pride as a warrior was at stake and went on offense again. “That arrogance will be your downfall,” he said as he got closer to his opponent only to be stopped by flames. He looked over to see Xavier was the one responsible. “What do you think you’re doing? Our golden hero here needs to be taught a lesson that his arrogance won’t find him any allies,” Sigurd said while glaring daggers at Orpheaus.

    Sigurd was forced to jump out of the way. Orpheaus proved to be more than just talk. His shining armor was a pain and blurring his vision didn’t help either. He enhanced his speed using the wind again and moved around Orpheaus. He kept circling while trying to come up with a plan. Meanwhile he would drag the battle out since he wasn't wearing heavy armor like his opponent.

    The Victonari moved fast for someone wearing heavy armor. Sigurd was taken by surprise and was only able to dodge because he already had enhanced his movements with a Wind Spell. He felt something sting him slightly. His right sleeve was cut and a small drip of blood was visible. I didn’t dodge him completely? My senses must have been too slow because he’s hard to see. Damn that armor in the sun. “Not bad,” he said while he circled around, trying to get the sun behind him. “Looks like that armor can be useful after all. But two can play that game.” He swung his swords at the ground, creating a forceful wind that blew dirt and dust at his opponent. Sigurd ducked and charged in the cloud of dust, aiming at Orpheaus legs.

    Sigurd smirked. He loved picking fights. Especially with people that stood out and got more attention than him. “The name is Sigurd Olafson. I’m a Wind Templar,” he said while looking at his opponents sword. That thing looked like it could do some serious damage. “I never met a Dragon, but I heard they are as powerful as an entire Legion. Let’s see if you’re not all just talk.” Sigurd took his battle stance and unsheathed his swords. “Age before beauty!” he said with a grin.

    Sigurd wasn’t impressed with Orpheaus little show. “You aim your sword at unarmed little girls. Who are you trying to impress? Or are you compensating for something with that golden armor?” He showed Orpheaus his most arrogant face en walked past him. “By the way, if you can fight a dragon one on one, how come you need to ask our help against whatever is coming?” he asked with a sarcastic tone.

    “Now we’re talking!” Sigurd said after more of his allies agreed to the small competition. “Let’s get moving,” he said as he started walking in front of the group, while he had no idea where they were supposed to go.
