Looks like both GAOs are water types. But I have the advantage in speed. “Crush, withdraw into your shell and harden it. Then use it to tackle th-” Crush reacted at the word ‘withdraw’ before Logan had finished his sentence, reacting to the clear command. Crush’s shell shined silver for a moment and he was already halfway toward his opponent. He’s reacting fast. Did he know what I was planning? Or is it something else?

“Sure, I’ll call Crush back if he goes overboard.” Logan said. “So you better listen to me, alright?” he warned the turtle. Crush didn’t seem too happy, but nodded as a sign he would obey. This time at least. If Logan screwed up chances were high Crush wouldn’t listen anymore. Ok, let’s see. That thing doesn’t look like it knows electric or grass attacks. If it’s a Hippo, water would be logical. As far as logic applies for these GAO. Chances are it can’t manipulate any element like Oak’s Foxman… No use in thinking this over, let’s go for offense. Meanwhile Crush had moved in front of his opponent with a cocky attitude. “Ok, Crush, use your water attack!” A hard jet of water came from the turtle’s mouth and hit his opponent. Wow, that thing really is slow. I should take advantage of that. But the water attack didn’t seem to do much. “Nice one, let’s keep up our offense!" The turtle nodded in agreement.

Another cadet walked over to Logan. “Yes, I’ve been looking for a way to practice with my GAO without hurting them. I was just talking about it with Jory and Keaton,” Logan said as he pointed toward the other two cadets. “My name is Logan by the way. And this is Crush, my Squirtle.” Logan looked at Crush before continuing. He had to earn the turtle’s trust before something serious happened. “Are you up for a battle against us?” he asked.

Jory and Keaton decided it wasn’t a good idea to battle considering the match between Surge and Erick. “You know we’ll have battles like that eventually, right? And I don’t think any of us would call for an exploding move.” It was then that Logan’s attention was drawn by the battle between Clint, Sid and Nathan. Crush had also noticed the battle and wanted to go closer, but Logan stopped him. “Don’t interfere. You’ll get your chance eventually,” he said while the battle came to an end. “No extreme wounds on any of the GAOs involved. It can be done without endangering them.” Logan was more mumbling to himself, looking for a way to battle with Crush and earning its trust.

Logan rubbed his stomach while Crush started chasing Nefertiti, who was hiding behind Jory. “Watch out he doesn’t tackle you too,” Logan said. “Well, as long as Crush there doesn’t hurt my buddies. My name is Keaton. My GAOs are Axis and Sheriff. Or, rather, Baltoy and Vulpix.” It was the cadet who addressed Logan earlier as ‘sir’. Logan shook his hand. “I’m Logan. This is Crush, my Squirtle. You may remember my other GAO, Chimchar. It was the fiery monkey stirring up trouble with the fake-Oak incident.” Meanwhile Crush had reached Jory’s legs, trying to get to Nefertiti. He was about to succeed until it heard Keaton ask for a battle. The turtle immediately turned its head, which was noticed by Logan. “I’m up for it. But I have to warn you. I can only use Crush and I don’t have complete control over him. And according to Oak Crush has an advantage over your Sheriff. If Jory is up for a battle as well you should pick your opponent.”

It doesn't really matter where you mention it. Maybe you can put it in after you kill another one since Sigurd was suffering dying.

The Beast’s blade cut Sigurd from his shoulder to his waist. The Templar fell on the ground, barely alive. Ah Aelia, I have failed you. I couldn’t slay this Beast. I can only hope I made my Kinsmen proud and that my skills honored you. Sigurd felt a last breeze crawling over his face and smiled. “Oh Goddess, does this mean you accept me?” were the last words he mumbled before everything went black. (OOC: I will haunt you in your dreams!)

Wow! Jory really has a talent with these GAO. I should learn a thing or two from him. Logan thought as he continued to observe the interaction between Crush and Jory, curious about his turtle’s reaction. “I think Logan wants to be your friend, Crush. Whaddya say?” Crush looked at Logan, doubt in its eyes. Then he used his water gun again, missing Logan by a few inches, turned his head and crossed its paws. “You don’t trust me, do you? But why did you show me your weaknesses then?” Suddenly Crush withdrew in its shell while a silver, ironlike color showed for a moment (withdraw). Then he popped back out and tackled Logan with a brute force. Logan got hit in his stomach and fell. “Ouch, that shell is like a rock, what the hell?”

The being on his horse rode toward Sigurd. It wouldn’t take long for them to clash. Stay low. Aim for his legs. Or that was supposed to be the plan. Suddenly the earth began to rumble and Sigurd stopped. He looked at his feet, expecting another party trick from whatever that thing was. He realized too late it was the Half-Orcs work and he was flung backwards. He landed painfully on his shoulders and his feet were thrown over his head by the impact. Sigurd tried to get up but somehow his cloak was twisted around something he couldn’t see, preventing him from moving. After a minute he forcefully pushed himself up, ripping his cloak. Apparently it had been stuck under some of the rubble that was once a Tavern. Sigurd removed the rest of his cloak and was about to scold the Half-Orc, when he saw how Magni got killed. The Dwarf was reduced to nothing more but dust. Sigurd felt disgust toward the Beast, as he decided to name it. He concentrated on every little bit of strength he had left, but it wasn’t enough. He felt the wind blow in his hair and prayed to the Goddess Aelia to give him the power to defeat this Beast. He heard how Marcus screamed and almost lost his concentration. Don’t get distracted. You can’t help them all, but they are strong. Concentrate. You will slay this beast. Ooh Aelia, Goddess of Wind and Mind, give me the strength to protect this little town. More screams, this time from Odin, reached him. It was hard for Sigurd to not jump in there and help them. But he knew he didn’t have enough strength, yet. The wind started blowing, surrounding him. Aelia’s Blessing. Now is the time to strike. I’ve mustered everything I have left. When Sigurd opened his eyes he saw that both Marcus and Odin were dead. The Half-Orc, whose name he didn’t know, was trying to hold the Beast off. A Dark Barrier surrounded the whole town, preventing them from escaping. The Beast said something about taking their Souls, but Sigurd didn’t care. He wasn’t planning to escape anyway. He would face that foul beast and slay it, or die trying to. That was the way of the warrior which his stepfather and fellow Templars had taught him. Sigurd passed his remaining allies and stood before the Beast. “I won’t run away from you, Beast! I will follow the path of the warrior until the end. If I didn’t, I would be a disgrace to my fellow kinsmen and insult those who died in battle.” Sigurd got ready to strike. “Even if I die the Goddess Aelia will take care of my Soul. And I heard she’s a real beauty, so I don’t mind!” With that said he charged again at the Beast, while it swung its blade toward the Half-Orc.

Crush looked from Jory to Nefertiti as he came closer toward the friendly GAO. Logan was surprised. He expected the turtle’s usual cocky behavior and that it would ignore Jory. The last thing he considered was Crush actually reaching out to get to know Nefertiti.

Sigurd looked in awe as the being on his flaming horse came closer. The thing spread a feeling of despair and death. The Half-Orc warned them to be careful, but Marcus prepared to attack. Every sense in Sigurd’s body told him he should listen to the Sorcerer, but that went against the way of the warrior. How could he ever face his kinsmen again if he ran away now? “Nice party tricks! Setting your horse on fire and make it rain blood. You’re nothing but a showoff, are you?” he yelled at the being. Sigurd collected every bit of strength he had left and dashed forward. He raised his swords, preparing to strike the last enemy.

Sigurd got hit by the heavy shield, breaking his rhythm. He was surrounded by five of them with no way out. This is gonna hurt, but I have no choice. He charged into the two Lizards on his right. Sigurd reflected the first one, but the second managed to cut his arm. Ignoring the pain, Sigurd lashed his swords at the first Lizard and kicked it to bring it out of balance. Then he used all his might to push it against the one holding the heavy shield. Both fell on the ground and Sigurd used them to jump over the remaining two enemies. The Templar landed, rolled over the ground and didn’t waste any time. He buried his swords in the neck of a Lizard and used it as a shield against the other. Meanwhile the other three had regained their balance and joined their surviving friend. “Four against one? Not enough!” Sigurd yelled as he charged in, killing another one. Before he could find rhythm again, it started raining blood, distracting Sigurd and his opponents. “What the hell is happening here?” he asked while the enemies ran away.

Logan listened to Jory’s explanation about how he thought the GAO’s were scared. It was hard to imagine that Chimchar and Squirtle needed to be comforted as they stirred up trouble wherever they went. Crush seemed to share that thought as it started to act up. “I’m Jory, by the way, what’s your name?” “Logan. And this here is one of my GAO’s, Squirtle. I named him Crush.” The turtle jumped out of Logan’s arms, turned toward the forest, and used its Water Gun again. This time Crush used more force as to show how strong it could be. Then it turned with a cocky attitude toward the GAO in Jory’s arms. Logan sighed. "See? Nothing but trouble. This one likes to show off and the other picks fights with everything it sees."

The Kenku and Wolf did a great job dividing the Lizardmen. Sigurd took the opportunity to go after the confused enemies. Steadily he built up his rhythm, moving and striking his opponents. Flow like the wind, move like the sword is a part of you. Soon he was in a sort of a trance, only concentrating on his technique and speed. Nothing else mattered but the battlefield. Here and now. Sigurd started his battle dance around the Kenku who was surrounded. The Lizardmen were slowed down by their heavy shields, making it easier for Sigurd to dance around them and strike them in their blind spot. His swords didn’t manage to completely cut through the black scales, but Sigurd didn’t care. As long as he could slow them down the Kenku could use brute force to deal them the finishing blow.

“Sir, your GAO has mine frightened.” Logan looked around him. He didn’t see any superior who they should address with ‘sir’, until he saw his Squirtle was the cause. The turtle had regained his usual cocky attitude and was looking at a small foxlike GAO. Logan sighed. “Sorry about that.” He picked up Crush before it could start trouble and wanted to introduce himself, when another cadet showed up and started talking to Keaton. If I remember correctly, his name is Jory. How does he keep his GAO under control like that? “Excuse me,” Logan said. “How do you keep your GAO under control? Mine do nothing but cause trouble.” Logan hoped he wasn’t rude by interrupting their conversation. While he had no trouble speaking with Clint and Erick, he didn’t like drawing attention toward him when he didn’t know anything about his conversation partners.

Odin and his son came up with a simple plan. “Distract the front lines, surprise their leader and slay them all. Got it.” Sigurd said. “I’ll follow your lead, son of Odin.” He turned toward the Fire Templar. "Never fought with a Fire Templar as my ally before. This should be interesting."

Sigurd finished off his opponent, angrying the other two. He dodged the first one by sidestepping and positioned himself behind the second Lizard. Both opponents turned around right when Sigurd used the wind to throw particles in the air, blinding them. The Templar enhanced his speed and cut through both opponents. His attention was drawn by the Half-Orc who had found some tougher opponents. Sigurd fought his way towards the Sorcerer, who was joined by Odin and a Fire Templar. Suddenly he felt a disgusting Dark Aura. Something bad was coming their way. “What’s the plan?” he asked when he reached his allies.
